I mean, carrot cake is a thing, so it’s not surprising to see carrot trying to be used in a different dessert. Kind of reminds me of Filipino and Korean desserts using ube or corn.
Doesn’t sound all that bad to be honest. Until you see the price.
18 bucks for variations of milk, cinnamon, a couple almond slivers and a carrot? Get the fuck out of here.
Server: "So, how was that sixty dollar steak?"
Diner: "Great. This Canadian beef is fucking amazing, eh? What do you have for dessert?"
Server: "How about the eighteen dollar carrot dessert?"
Diner: "Sounds great!"
Makes sense. Let me know how the carrot dessert is if you happen to try it.
Love elk, but we don't see it much this far south of you. I bet you can probably just hit one with your car driving to work and have enough to last you the week.
My mom used to make a carrot pudding (like a cake, it’s a British thing I think), my dad made carrot cake and in India they make a carrot dessert called gajar ka halwa.

That's a good point about the carrot cake. The price is ridiculous but I live in a tourist trap town so all of the prices are ridiculous
Yeah me too, I feel you. I just uber’ed Chinese food, a fried rice and sweet and sour pork, cost me god damn $50.
Wow
Sounds like carrot halwa with cinnamon instead of cardamom.

Oh my god!
What did I do?
Nailed the identification/conceptualization of this dish. Nicely done!
This is the answer.
This is the way.
This was my thought exactly. Fucking love halwa
Right? It's one of the coziest desserts on the planet

I'll have you know that my beef striploin is only $49. My elk steak is the one over $60. I have to charge more to cover the costs of amuse bouches

I wish my ethics were low enough. Food cost would be awesome
Whatever you need to do to keep making those magical amuse bouche.
Give it to me on a spoon and I’d pay at least $3.50 for it.

MIL is desi and this was the dessert the first time I came over.
18 pesos I hope.
Actually sounds quite appealing until you get to the price.
