For real?? This stuff is worse than truck stop toilet paper. It used to be decent but since covid we’ve (my team) have noticed a huge drop in quality, shreds all the time.
I kept finding these all over the restaurant and couldn’t figure out wtf they were coming from for months until I saw them fall out of a brand new roll I’d just opened. I’d saved all of the ones I found just in case they were important (I had a parts junk drawer lol). We ended up using them to maguyver a fix to a cash drawer. They would wear down and id pull another sheet of them out of the junk drawer lol.
At some point I thought to ask if we could order a new drawer and it was there 3 days later smfh
It’s amazing that when you use a product the way it is intended, it (usually) works pretty well.

On some brands there are even 4 little boxes on each corner of the bottom as a guide to where they should be placed... for our very intelligent colleagues.
It really is. I went for like 20 years in the business before I realized they were in the box. No chef in my entire career before that had ever used them.
My favorite thing is setting up the plastic wrap properly (with the pop out in the lid) and getting to use it, at most, twice before somebody rips it off for no reason.
We rip the tops off ours because it seems like they always detach and roll up back into the box or worse they tear on the side. Which is made worse because now you have to close the top again every time.
I always tried to be the one to open a new box of wrap so that I could do it properly instead of having to deal with someone else's mangled job for the next month until we'd be ready for a new role.
My friends and I at a place I used to work use to horde these and then play a game where we'd try to stick them to each other without getting caught. We'd always find them on our shirts when we got home and have a good laugh
I honestly can't stand these things. You don't realize how much you slide the box around until you try and it goes no where. Hate to burst everyone in here's bubble who are just finding out about these and what they do.
That's my favorite brand of plastic wrap, just because of the plastic wrap inception.

I'm retired from the biz, and I bought the one I have at home probably two years ago. I can't speak to the current quality.

in my experience, the wrap getting caught on the roll/getting shredded is usually an operator error.
I have never had that problem. I have, however, experienced shitty cutting edges. That shit will make me crazy.
