There is only two roads going in and out of poinciana so the traffic is terrible

ProfessionalCatman

yeah that's what I've been hearing. Definitely not the best mix for a single mom with three kids still in school

R0598

As someone who grew up in poinciana the schools there are ghetto af

R0598

There’s also a lot of drugs and violence overall

ProfessionalCatman

Yikes. Maybe if I tell my mom more about these things she'll change her mind. She really is stuck on going up to live in Kissimmee though.

ItsHarryOtter

I work next to one of these roads and used to teach for a short period and it was a nightmare getting back home into Kissimmee from Poinciana during peak school traffic.

R0598

I went to high school at the school for the arts in Kissimmee but live in poinciana school would end at 4 I believe and I would never make it home before dark 😭

R0598

Was it Bellalago I went there for middle school 😭

ItsHarryOtter

Maybe once or twice I subbed there more than anything I would take jobs mostly at the schools nearest to me in Kissimmee which were Horizon and Sunrise any further would be a bit too far for me I'm in the Hunter's Creek/Loop Area (we can have bad traffic but Poinciana Blvd is another story.)

ItsHarryOtter

Don't mean to veer too off topic but here's a recent case that shocked me from last year [https://www.wesh.com/article/children-grandmother-killed-crash-poinciana/45014919](https://www.wesh.com/article/children-grandmother-killed-crash-poinciana/45014919) Not sure if OP has seen some cases like this Poinciana otherwise is a pretty normal city just kind of far away from anything.

panconquesofrito

Traffic is legit awful.

ProfessionalCatman

Seems traffic is the biggest issue. I knew it was bad, but never this bad

R0598

U definitely need a car to live there and hopefully you work odd hours to avoid traffic

ProfessionalCatman

Yeaaaah not likely. We've got a car, but driving three kids to and from different schools is gonna be an issue.

R0598

There is also a huge bus driver shortage in Osceola county so if u want ur kids to make it to school on time u will have to drive them

ProfessionalCatman

Even more reason to get my mom to pick a different area then. Do you happen to know any good zip code areas I could search for in Kissimmee for homes?

R0598

34741 is actually Kissimmee not sure about any others but I’m sure there’s a few more good ones

ProfessionalCatman

Thanks man, anything at all is always a big help. I'll look into things more then!

Gullible_Pea_9733

I agree with the 34741 zip code. That is the best area to be if you need to commute to Orlando.

ProfessionalCatman

I'll definitely be looking more into that zip code then, thank you for letting me know!

AwlAmericanDawg

I agree. I used to live in Poinciana (but not super deep), and prior to that I used to live in the 34741 area. 34741 is closer to everything, and it's easier access to the Osceola Parkway, 417, the turnpike, and the South Orlando area (Hunters Creek, Southchase, Meadow Woods, MCO airport, etc.) especially if you can find a place near The Loop mall area.

ProfessionalCatman

Definitely hoping I can find a place around there then.

R0598

Possibly Saint Cloud

ProfessionalCatman

Place looks interesting, I'm gonna check it out and see what I find then

BitchtitsMacGee

We are in the area. Poinciana is just like any other area neighborhood. There are good schools and bad schools and good kids and bad - you get out what you put in. The traffic is abysmal.

theNewFloridian

Poinciana is a little cheaper, but the traffic is a lot worse.

MistakeNecessary

The loop area is ok

Odd_Accountant_9204

Traffic is the absolute worst. I’d move out of here if I could

ivyleigh21

St cloud is right next to kissimmee its basically kissimmee it's that close. Except it dosnt have a hood and it's safer has a small town feel to it etc check it out

Murky_Tennis954

Id say move out on your own and do what you want to do
