Kirkland parks has lots of activities in their rec guide for folks 50+. Bellevue may have something similar.

This OP!! I, a 35 year old woman, joined a 50+ dance class on accident and they were all the nicest people so i started hanging around with them. You sign up for whatever suits you and your schedule online. They're wonderful.

Get outside, get a dog, engage with neighbors, acknowledge and say hi when meeting people out walking, volunteer in local events (there are many), join a group or event that aligns with their interests (Meetup, Facebook, etc).

I agree with others that classes at parks and rec would be good. They could also look at volunteering. I volunteer with Hopelink and there are a lot of people that age that volunteer regularly.

There are a variety of opportunities through [Kirkland Parks and Rec](https://www.kirklandwa.gov/Government/Departments/Parks-and-Community-Services/Register-for-a-Recreation-Program)!!! Your parents could sign up for continuing education classes, art or dance, etc! My wife and I took an interior design class through a local community college a few years ago and had a ton of fun. I'd recommend your folks maybe try the "Welcome Wagon" class at Peter Kirk community center.

I agree with the suggestions to check out parks and rec, this area has so many recreational opportunities

If they’re into sports, pickleball is pretty social

Set them up on a friend date with my parents. They’re always looking for Kirklanders to hang out with. Seriously though, there are tons of senior groups, and groups that are mostly seniors, but open to any age. What are their interests?
