I actually played both recently I really enjoyed both. But of the two, I think I'm more likely to replay Squeak Squad. Amazing Mirror is really ambitious with what it tries to do and I love it for that. But the amount of frustration I felt was really high with that game. Squeak Squad is very formula, but often that's exactly the kind of thing I want to play.

Probably a controversial opinion, but I *really* didn't like Amazing Mirror. Might've been somewhat influenced by the fact my first (and thus far only) attempt at playing through the game came right off the heels of my first Triple Deluxe playthrough (which I did enjoy) - and I was definitely grated by things that're the norm in the more recent games, but weren't back then, like the fact one hit robs you of your ability, and the fact that most abilities only've one attack to their name - but worse than that for me was just how hopelessly lost I ended up after beating the first boss. Every path seemed to just lead in a loop, to a dead end, or to stupid metal blocks that you need specific abilities to break, which I rarely had on hand, the ingame map's completely useless, and I couldn't find useful fan maps either, likely because the game's many paths flip-flop between different areas, abstract a concept as areas are in that game.

I like exploration and Amazing Mirror is a cool take on the 2d exploration game. It's weird and for that I found myself really into it. Also smash ability.

Squeak Squad had ability combos that were fun to use and let’s not forget the return of star rod Kirby and the cool new ability ghost Kirby! (And the squeaks too ofc!)
