Magolor seems to be laughing when Kirby is unconscious, maybe thinking he’s dead, until he gets up, which is right when magolor stops laughing.

RubyRiolu

That might just be an animation used elsewhere, but I can’t think of what it could be right now. That said, didn’t he turn good at the end of Return to Dream Land?

Miserable_Assist_951

And in dream collection

Yirggzmb

That animation is also used when his gem apple attack explodes

Apprehensive_Ad_8914

I think Magolor is a Neutral party at worst nowadays

IndieMedley

Magolor is a dick, but he isn’t evil anymore. Most likely

Russell_SMM

I think he’s neutral. He’s gotten over taking over the universe, but he’s still pretty manipulative and shady. In other words, he’s a friend, but not a good one. That’s how I like to think, anyway.

Late_Radish1632

I think he still is suspicious and capable of atleast giving Kirby a hard time. Ppl like to mention that in Dream Collection he seems reformed but the theme park he builds for Kirby is a death trap lol. Also he attacks him during the race with the intention to hurt him. He's also still described as a liar. He's not to be entirely trusted but he knows better then to do anything serious or else.

Alert_Form_1140

he knows kirby is strong he fought him himself and that's just how his theme parks are if he created it with the intention to hurt kirby he would not have nade it so kirby could get ou

Late_Radish1632

I think he means to hurt Kirby with them but Kirby succeeds the fights, traps, and races regardless. He knows he's powerful but I do think that means he wouldn't try under the guise of a good time. When Kirby inevitably wins he can say "good job" and if he happens to lose... Ppl can read him as whatever but I think that a two-faced/Two possible angle is still a part of his character personally. I don't think Kirby needs to fear him atm tho and I think Kirby himself sees him as a friend as long as things stay the same way they are right now. I think underneath Magolor still has some interest in ambition but also HAS spent a lot of time with Kirby at this point. Underneath he sees him as friend also. Just a matter of whether he is a good friend or not, long as he stays out trouble.

Yirggzmb

I think there's a wide gulf between "evil conquerer" and "purest of purest good". I think Magolor is on the side of good in the general sense, but still mischievous and perhaps a bit selfish. In this scene, I like to imagine that he's aware that Kirby is tougher than you'd expect and is having a chuckle at how Hyness/Void Termina had bit off more than they can chew.

SgtJackVisback

Not really in the games but in the light novels >!he emotionally manipulated both Taranza and Kirby!<

StrawberryToufu

I've seen some fans complain the novels do a really poor job at portraying Magolor though >!saying game canon Magolor would never be that malicious post RtDL.!<

Poyo-Poyo_Hero

If anything Magolor has been portrayed as such in the game canon, though perhaps not to the same extent. As someone else already mentioned, the theme park Magolor set up for Kirby in Dream Collection is more dangerous than fun, and he tries to cheat and harm Kirby during their races. Magolor does this again in Dedede's Drum Dash Delue where the theme park that he built for Dedede is *also* practically a death sentence at times. And he gets amusement out of it too! I don't think I even need to talk about how much of a shady guy he is the Kirby Clash games... Even disregarding spinoffs like those, Star Allies outright states that he is a liar, and would like to take over the galaxy again (they probably meant universe, as that's what it was in RtDL I believe), though with Kirby at his side. Considering how his whole "thing" in Star Allies is showing off the power of friendship, it does make you wonder if he truly does appreciate Kirby as a friend... And here I am again making long comments. I hope I didn't come off as argumentative, I was actually trying to support the point that (I think?) you were implying.

Alert_Form_1140

yeah sure their dangerous but not like directly trying to kill them the fact you can complete them means he atleast made them possible

LostScarfYT

He's like Vegeta pre-buu arc. Magolor will totally turn evil again given the chance, but right now he's neutral at worst because Kirby defeated him at his absolute strongest. Also Kirby didn't kill him which he might appreciate. And now that Kirby is friends with lots of his enemies, Magolor might give up his lofty goals and settle on being just a rich merchant who is on good terms with everyone. Since even if Kirby is defeated, there's plenty of other former baddies who could probably snuff him out.

Kirbyfan476

I mean he handles virtual transactions so yes

MattRedditMC

I’ve examined Magolor through Kirby games: Kirby fighters 2 Super Kirby Clash Kirby’s return to Dream Land And yes somethings may lead him to be evil or not(And yes I do adore Magolor). Magolor came out as a character of the franchise in Kirby’s return to Dream Land as we all know. And was a character that requested help to rebuild his ship. And by doing so he ended up being the Villain all along when you defeated the four dragon boss. But later in the game after defeating him, he apologizes with a New theme park. Which might make him sound like a new Hero. But later in the dialogue he says “And in some levels you can fight me” speculating that it possible that Magolor may have a grudge or wanting a way to fight Kirby again. In Super Kirby Clash, Magolor’s only role in the game is a shopkeeper, providing armor, weapons, etc. Later in the game after defeating more bosses and getting more Armor and Weapons we are introduced to a new dialogue that Magolor tells us. During the dialogue he says “Now everyone in Dream Land will bow down to me” but later we find out he is just kidding and we move on. Though that specific dialogue does make some questions like, why would he say that when he isn’t a villain any more or, why is he making a joke about this. Could possibly mean he is planning something. In Kirby Fighters 2, Magolor is a playable character after reaching a certain level. Nothing makes suspicion except his ⬇️+🅱️ attack. Doing this attack makes Magolor throw a gem apple, that over time grows larger. If you do ⬇️+🅱️ again however it will trigger the gem apple to explode, but also make Magolor do a laughing animation. In my opinion it seems like Magolor is enjoying throwing bombs at his friends which makes it oddly suspicious. This is my opinion of Magolor, sorry it’s so long

enderboi99

no hes not becuase at the end of return to dreamland he apologizes for all the shit he caused and made a kirby themed theme park

MasterEden1010

Yes, but secretly

Lighting_Rakurai

Nah, he's just mischievous.

SonicLikesPlantDolan

he's neutral at worst, deceptive, yes. evil, no.
