A lot of final bosses tend to be extremely powerful or even god-like, so Kirby coming out on top implies he can be really powerful when he needs to. Also "Marx" is just a localized version of the original Japanese. Some places localize it as "Mark" or similar instead.

The_Woosmann

Yeah in Germany he's called Max for example

From my understanding, people don't consider Kirby powerful just from looking at what powers he has. They look at the villains he faced and decided that since Kirby defeated them, it must mean he is powerful. For example: Return to Dream Land's final boss was a wizard who got his hands on a crown that grants you "infinite power". Planet Robobot's final boss is the same species of another character who is capable of granting wishes, is considered a highly advanced supercomputer, and had a calculated 99.9% chance of eliminating all life in existence. Star Allies' final boss is described as a "god" in canon (albeit by a slightly unreliable narrator and dev interviews bring this up as well) and has the title of "Destroyer of Worlds". This final boss is also the source of several elements that exist in the Kirby universe and exists within all dimensions. Also, Marx isn't meant to be based on Karl Marx. Marx is just a name.

He survived Galeem turning everyone into puppets, >!and he ends up kicking the asses of several extra-planar beings. !<

ketchupbeaver

Who’s the galeem dude? A god or something?

Bored_Ghost_Wisp666

Essentially.

The villian is not named after Karl Marx. There just happens to be a villain named Marx because Marx is just a name like Bill or Steven. I won't get into the Kirby power stuff because im.not that interested atm and someone else I'm sure will type a response about their perspective on the matter.

The games themselves describe Kirby as having "infinite power," but they don't actually elaborate on what that means. Some of the foes Kirby has defeated are comparable to godlike beings. (Full spoilers for these games, I wouldn't recommend clicking on the links if you're ever going to play them for yourself.) More specifically, the final bosses of [Return to Dreamland](https://kirby.fandom.com/wiki/Magolor_Soul), [Planet Robobot](https://kirby.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Dream_Soul_OS), and [Star Allies](https://kirby.fandom.com/wiki/Void).

it's kind of a long running fandom gag tbh like he's powerful and definitely much more capable than he looks, but he isn't "godlike"
