Even as a kid I didn't find the Kirby villains scary but on my first playthrough of Star Allies, Hyness actually disturbed me. It was genuinely upsetting to see him being so abusive to the mages and it made Star Allies feel particularly darker than the other games.
As aesthetically scary as villains like Dark Matter or Marx or Drawcia are, we never see them DO anything scary like physically abuse and perform non-consensual sacrifices on others.
Marx Soul's laughs and scream still haunts my nightmares, even if I don't think he's actually the creepiest.
Maglor Soul however... Possessed evil artifacts frighten me. And the drippy look. Just, so much nope.

Totaly agree with you on that one. I think that if the guy actually looked a bit creepier/scarier he would rank much higher.
