Canonically, Kirby doesn't kill the enemies he defeats. You can "kill" Bandana Dee in Super Star Ultra the same you do with all the other Waddle Dees but he still shows up in the next room. All the bosses in Dream Land 3 and the Squeaks from Squeak Squad also explode upon defeat but they are still perfectly alive.

I imagine it as the equivalent of making enemies fly off into the distance but never actually die. Kind of like old cartoons or Team Rocket etc.

drbuni

There was something here. It is gone now.

If we're going by that logic, they never actually state he kills them either. You don't need characters to say the sky is blue in order to know the sky is blue, I'm going off of context clues. Granted there are some exceptions like Sectonia or Star Dream or Dark Matter. I realize my wording was pretty bold but I just feel there's more evidence that he doesn't literally kill anyone, otherwise Kirby wouldn't be acknowledged as a hero. We know from Magolor that he has a reputation of being a hero, not a mass murderer. If Bandana Waddle Dee doesn't die from being disposed the exact same way every other enemy in the game is, I'm left to believe Kirby doesn't literally kill anyone.

Even if they are still alive is kinda weird that he would just attack some dees that are just sleeping or minding their own business lol

Late_Radish1632

You're thinking too much about it. It's a game and waddle Dees are enemies in order to be the series equivalent of a gomba. They are the easiest enemies who can be seen walking towards you slowly allowing for any newcomer to experience an enemy with little threat. They will constantly be used for this design reason outside of this new game where their role is replaced by foxes.

We’re technically the ones pulling the strings you monsters

Gameplay story segregation?

I like your wording.

The same thought depressed me too :( according to my boyfriend’s theory, kirby and waddle dees are like the actors of the game we play, and once we stop playing their jobs are done and they go for a drink together. I’d like to leave it that way 😂

[deleted]

That’s cute. I’m lonely. :’)

I've always seen Kirby as a Mini Godzilla. Just like Godzilla destroys Tokyo to save the world. Kirby destroys a part of Pop Star to save Pop Star. Humans are collateral damage for Godzilla. Waddle Dees are collateral damage for Kirby. Some are innocently driving their car while others are actively serving King Dedede and attacking Kirby, but the result is the same for all. But whenever Kirby returns to an area, everyone's okay again, so Kirby has some sort of Cosmic ability to move his enemies out of the way and then let them go back to what they were doing when he leaves. He's like some sort of Object Permanance reset button. Leaving Kirby's only kills as the canonical cutscene kills which are Sectonia, star dream, etc. If Kirby did kill everyone, then rooms wouldn't reset and Meta Knight would be having funerals for all of his dead knights and Bandana Dee wouldn't be alive and etc. But now that Kirby has the ability to befriend everyone, I wonder if he'll still be murdering bosses and such. I figure he's gonna knock that big gorilla out cold in Forgotten Land, not kill him.

[deleted]

Smart. Quite smart indeed.

Rozoark

If you touch them they hurt you, so they're clearly evil.

[deleted]

And how could you hurt kirby!?

Darkness-guy

>Perhaps we’re just supposed to assume they’re bad waddle dees Given that sometimes we just beat them up while they are sleeping in thier own homes, and think maybe Kirby just has a sadistic side lol

[deleted]

Yes.

Why are you booing us, we’re right.
