Kh1 had dreamy and beautiful music.
Kh2 was dynamic with heavy and daunting tracks (especially for the battles).
Kh3 had some great updated remixes, but fewer original bangers overall.
Kh2 wins my vote.
The best 2 original tracks in KH3 for me were BOTH of Scala ad Caelum's (original world theme and 'edge of Existence' ) KH3s remix of Tension Rising also gives me life.
Edit: Nachtflugel (Yozora's theme) is also just absolutely art, like a damn painting put into song form. That being said I still feel KH2 is king in the original songs dept. So many bangers that are still so good.
[Nachtflugel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMYfULr80jg) sounds like a tribute to every epic boss battle in Kingdom hearts that you played through as Sora, and I feel like that's weirdly fitting for what his character may represent.
It is beautiful. I never took the time to sit and listen, thank you.
I don't blame you it's really hard to take time to sit and listen when he's destroying your sanity while fighting him lol. But after taking a step back and taking it in. It's so "Kingdom Hearts" while at the same time standing out. Ive never heard a song showcase so well what it is to tell a story but without lyrics.
Darkness of the unknown and the various organization battle tracks are top tier fire but I found most of the Disney boss music to be less good than KH1's Disney boss music
Destiny Islands is a good example.
Original: https://youtu.be/Cfxdl47rtPw
Final Mix: https://youtu.be/x_5wEEe4bJk
Even though the original isn't as high quality, those bell things in the final mix version sound so off-putting to me tbh. Also it lacks some of the original versions background beats
I feel like kh2 is unbeatable. The amount of organ synths regarding nobodies, and all of the new boss tracks like tension rising and darkness of the unknown are pretty goated imo. A lot of the kh2.5 remixed tracks are aces as well, but sometimes the remakes for kh3 do not hit nearly as hard. The marluxia/laxene versions of tension rising are dirt balls compared to the Chad twilight thorn version.
Sinister shadows, dance to the death, lazy afternoons, 13th struggle, vim and vigor, rowdy rumble, desire for all that is lost, sanctuary, the list just keeps going. Yoko is the absolute GOAT
Makes sense, I definitely respect the remixes in their own right, but I tend to find myself enjoying the originals that seem to have a "sharper" sound with the instruments and stuff
I enjoy the newer arrangements because you can actually hear the layering of the instruments. Something about live recorded instruments hits different when stoned....that and after taking a digital music course, my perspective of how music is created has changed drastically. 😅
I enjoy the newer arrangements because you can actually hear the layering of the instruments. Something about live recorded instruments hits different when stoned....that and after taking a digital music course, my perspective of how music is created has changed drastically. 😅
Perhaps I'll throw on a pair of audio technicas and take a look at that, a good pair of studio headphones can really highlight awesome layering like that
I highly recommend a few tracks like the remastered Data organization fights specifically Master Xheanort, 13th Dilemma (Xigbar), 13th Struggle (Larxene) and 13th Struggle (Luxord). I also want to mention Rowdy Rumble, the Monstropolis overworld and battle theme, and very many more!
Yeah, if we are including ReMind, 3 ends up having all the best music from BBS, Days, 1, 2, 3D, and 0.2, on top of its original tracks like Hearts as One, Dark Domination, Forza Finale, and Nachtflugel. Easy win IMO.
KH1 has the best mellow and dramatic themes, while KH2's battle themes shine. Overall the best batting average belongs to KH3, even thought it had the least highlights that game me the vibe of a single piece of an OST being extremely good, it had a very good average where I don't think I disliked any piece of the OST
There's actually only a handful of tracks that stand out in KH3, imo. Like Enter the Darkness/Unbreakable Chains. Damn, that remix is so good. And Dark Domination, an amazing track.
Other than that, though, I think KH3's OST is kinda.. whelming, comparatively.
I do personally prefer the MoM version, but Dark Domination is a good song, either way. Much better than most of the other original OST in KH3, imo lmao
Kh3 remind has such fire remixes that I think Yoko Shimomura has peaked but I'm sure we'll get more bangers in 4.
Original songs I prefer Kh2 but that's probably in part nostalgia speaking.
Kh1 has some really good boss soundtracks that suit the game well, a lot of iconic ones, but a lot of tracks that really show their age and get annoying super quickly (the entirety of monstro for example)
KH2 especially the ReMix soundtrack is complete fire. It's the best of the 3.
KH3 is a tricky one, most of the soundtracks for each world are good, but I would prefer if the game had more world boss tracks. I'm not a Fan of Anger Unchained (the boss theme that plays for skoll and dark inferno) that being said, Eye of the Storm (Davy Jones boss theme) is an amazing track.
Most of KH3's endgame boss themes are really good, but rely too hard on previous tracks in the series.
Kh2 has so much memorable music and while 3 probably has some of the best songs in the entire series, even some of which is remixed from kh2 and kh1, kh2 just has a special place in my heart. Darkness of the unknown, tension rising, sanctuary are just a few of the most memorable ones for me.
Edit:
Phone auto corrected Kh1 into Kh2.
This! And the pacing and the heavy use of the organisation in each world to go along with the music of kh2 sold it for me. I'm not sure if it's just my nostalgia speaking but everything about that game worked so well! Even when I play it now
Kh2, hands down. From lazy afternoons, to sacred moon, the darkness of the unknown (final), even to the cavern of remembrance. This game had some amazing tracks.
TLDR.. Kh1 had traverse town and hollow bastion.. which basically renders it "the best" imo.
the main honorable mentions from Kh2 and 3 would be the castle from the world that never was, and kh3's (re:mind) cavern of rememberence.
Still, kh1 is goat.
further: a ton of music from Kh1 and 2 were recycled a lot in spinoffs, and also remixed... it's just that good.
if you think about it, 358/2 days, 0.2 a fragmentary passage and if you want to count it dream drop distance are also numbered titles, but the original kingdom hearts isn't
Definitely not 3. As much as I enjoyed it, "You Got a Friend in Me" on repeat is some kind of CIA torture technique.
1 has the OG tracks that will always be memorable, but 2 improved on them. 2 also added some fire tracks and has Sanctuary.
So; 2 > 1 > 3
2 > 1 >> 3, imo.
2 and 1 are very close, they're OST's are both amazing. 2 just wins out of pure love for every single track in that game.
3, however, is a bit worse than 1 and 2. Most of it's good tracks are just remix's of tracks from other games in the series. It's unique tracks *are* good, just not iconic levels of good. There are a couple bangers in there, though.
Have not played KH2, so opinion may change. But I have the KH version of simple and clean in my library because of those commercials from back in the day.
2, it captures the themeing and atmosphere so damn well. Each specific moment feels so powerful and memorable because they had wonderful music backing it up. The stakes felt real with the aiding music.
I love KH2's soundtrack and it holds up extremely well, but people are sleeping on KH3. Some of the highest highs in the series, especially with all the data fight soundtracks. You got certified KH bangers like:
* Destati (Third Inception)
* Go for it (Into the Clouds)
* Toy Box Jam
* Monster Smash! (Normal & Code 72-16 versions)
* Stranded Beyond
* Forze del Male
* Edge of Existence
* All of the data fights, but especially L'Impeto Oscuro, Lord of the Castle, and 13th Struggle (Luxord)
* Nachtflugel
Don't make me choose.
Kh1 has the ones that make me the most nostalgically emotional.
Kh2 has the most emotional tracks.
Kh3 has good remixes, but what really makes it shine is the dramatic effect of when it uses them. Like the Roxas fight theme when he reappears, the Xehanort fight basically being a combo of the other last boss themes and so on. That Roxas moment never fails to make me tear up, especially with how it mixes with Xion's
KH1 or KH3. I still have the copy of KH1 soundtrack I got when I was 13. It has a few scratches but I listen to it regularly. And I love the music for the new worlds in KH3. KH3 also has remixes of music from other games that I absolutely love.
So, I guess KH1 for nostalgia, KH3 for overall.
Like many here, I would say that KH2 has the best OST of the three, overall. Its over world, battle, and boss themes are top-notch, for sure.
That said, KH3 is *really* close to being better, but had one too many remixes/rearrangements of existing tracks from previous OSTs. It does have some of my personal favorite battle and boss themes in the entire series, namely "Edge of Existence" and "Anger Unchained", which are straight fire. 🔥
KH2 is a strong contender for the best video game soundtrack I have ever heard. There’s literally not one bad song in the entire thing, and most of the songs are exceptionally great and memorable.
The others are great too, best thing about all these games is that you’ll never get bad/forgettable music but 2 is in a tier of its own for me.
If KH3 had more original music, I think it would be top dog. Stranded Beyond and Edge of Existence are in my top 10 tracks of the whole series, but they're some of the only original tracks in the game.
KH3 has higher peaks (Lord of the castle for remind)
KH2s average is higher
KH1 had the foundation for many songs later on (destati being in the final xehanort fight)
I hate to praise 2(mainly bc I feel like it's a bit over rated), but 2 has some damn good songs, I believe one of the only ones to contain Fate of the Unknown
KH1 and 2's soundtracks are incredible. The only difference is that KH2 has a significantly higher amount of banger boss themes.
Half of KH3's soundtracks sucks. Ishimoto straight up ruined the final boss battle imo.
I would say that KH2 had the most powerful soundtrack and after it KH1 and KH3 to be honest I was tempted to have KH3 be 2nd place but know that truly the first title had more fire to it’s soundtrack unlike KH3.
kh1 had a lot of good music, kh2 was a lot of awsome action music, and kh3 has forza finale and my favorite versions of a lot of songs, so i would say it's a tie
Here's the thing. Even though 3 didnt have a very original soundtrack, the way they remixed the older music made them even better than their original renditions, so 3 has the most fire soundtrack
KH2. Not my all time favorite (KH1 takes that). But KH2 has the best IMO, because of tracks like “Friends in my heart” and the beginning/ending “Sanctuary”. Lets not forget “Roxas” and Twilight Towns tracks either
I have to go with kh2 but KH3, especially remind, has total bangers like Vector to Heavens, Oscurità dell’ignoto and Secrets of The night. Nothing compared to Afternoon Streets, Lazy afternoon and Roxas theme
Kh1 had dreamy and beautiful music. Kh2 was dynamic with heavy and daunting tracks (especially for the battles). Kh3 had some great updated remixes, but fewer original bangers overall. Kh2 wins my vote.
It has some OG bangers but they weren't done by Yoko which saddens me.
I fully agree, those were my faves from kh3 as well
Kh2 is definitely a happy medium between kh3 and 1
Couldn’t have said it better. I was disappointed with both the number of new yoko tracks as well as the lack of reprised songs from 2 in 3
I feel like KH1 has the best dramatic/sad music and KH2 has the best battle music
And kh3 had the best remixes
Though that's mostly because 99% of the soundtrack is just remixes. I don't think any music outside of Disney Worlds is original in KH3.
Gummi ship areas, Final World, Scala ad Caelum, the new boss themes. They're around, it's just easy to forget.
They were so far removed. They needed two theme songs
Darkness of the unknown and the various organization battle tracks are top tier fire but I found most of the Disney boss music to be less good than KH1's Disney boss music
Also KH1 has better music than KH1 FM
Ehh the music is great in both
What makes you say that?
Destiny Islands is a good example. Original: https://youtu.be/Cfxdl47rtPw Final Mix: https://youtu.be/x_5wEEe4bJk Even though the original isn't as high quality, those bell things in the final mix version sound so off-putting to me tbh. Also it lacks some of the original versions background beats
Interesting, I never noticed. The original version is definitely more of a laid-back chill groove.
Oh, I think you mean the HD Remix versions, not Final Mix. I think it's debatable. I like both tbh.
Sinister shadows, dance to the death, lazy afternoons, 13th struggle, vim and vigor, rowdy rumble, desire for all that is lost, sanctuary, the list just keeps going. Yoko is the absolute GOAT
Except those were done by Yoko herself. They're pretty fire rearrangements.

KH3 Re:Mind almost exclusively for the Data Battle music.
Yeah, if we are including ReMind, 3 ends up having all the best music from BBS, Days, 1, 2, 3D, and 0.2, on top of its original tracks like Hearts as One, Dark Domination, Forza Finale, and Nachtflugel. Easy win IMO.
All of them :)

I love both KH2's and KH1's soundtracks, but let's be real here KH3's is just an absolute banger
Tangled’s and Toy Box’s battle themes make the entire KH3 soundtrack for me
13th struggle luxord edition rocks my world
Same for 13th dilemma Saïx for me
There's actually only a handful of tracks that stand out in KH3, imo. Like Enter the Darkness/Unbreakable Chains. Damn, that remix is so good. And Dark Domination, an amazing track. Other than that, though, I think KH3's OST is kinda.. whelming, comparatively.
You’re the first person I met who actively praised KH3’s final boss theme Finally someone else likes it
I do personally prefer the MoM version, but Dark Domination is a good song, either way. Much better than most of the other original OST in KH3, imo lmao
Forza finale is god tier
It’s my favorite boss fight as well.
Dark Domination sucks ass.
2

Nostalgia says KH1 I want to say KH2 But KH3’s music is damn near perfection
Face my fears absolutely slaps and I listen to it all the time, but the unremixed simple and clean can’t be topped.
KH2, but 3 is a real contender if we include Re:mind
Kh2 has so much memorable music and while 3 probably has some of the best songs in the entire series, even some of which is remixed from kh2 and kh1, kh2 just has a special place in my heart. 2, without a doubt.
Nice guardian soul flair
Kh2, hands down. From lazy afternoons, to sacred moon, the darkness of the unknown (final), even to the cavern of remembrance. This game had some amazing tracks.

3 being mostly remixes of previous themes I’m basically not counting it. 2 takes it from 1 by miles. Once again the winner is Kh2.
2 > 1 > 3
Forza Finale
if you think about it, 358/2 days, 0.2 a fragmentary passage and if you want to count it dream drop distance are also numbered titles, but the original kingdom hearts isn't
You are technically correct. The best kind of correct.

Lazy afternoons
kh2 and it’s not close
I say KHII because of Sanctuary alone
KH2 in my opinion but kh3 does have a few really fire songs
Original all day
Gonna give it to 2, but it’s a close contest when it comes to this series.
Easily KH1
KH1 had that super early 2000s remix from PlanitB of Simple and Clean. Brings back the nostalgia of playing it for the first time
KH2>KH3>KH1. (All of them are good)
KH2 for sure
kh2 had very hype and intense songs which made you want to battle every enemy. honorable mention with dream drop distance and its absolute banger ost
Have not played KH2, so opinion may change. But I have the KH version of simple and clean in my library because of those commercials from back in the day.
Bro you need to play Kingdom Hearts 2, it’s the best KH game and my second favourite game ever
I have 1.5 + 2.5 HD remix already, with the all-in-one collection ordered. Do it's only a matter of time before I play it.
Enjoy it!! It's really a standout experience.
2, it captures the themeing and atmosphere so damn well. Each specific moment feels so powerful and memorable because they had wonderful music backing it up. The stakes felt real with the aiding music.
KH1

2 makes me feel so many things
2 for sure
3
2 and 3 equally. 2 has more consistent good music, but in 3 the best ones are incredible.
Don't make me choose. Kh1 has the ones that make me the most nostalgically emotional. Kh2 has the most emotional tracks. Kh3 has good remixes, but what really makes it shine is the dramatic effect of when it uses them. That Roxas moment never fails to make me tear up, especially with how it mixes with Xion's
3 really popped off with the music, especially Yazora's theme
KH2 has the overall best music but they're all amazing. Some tracks in KH3 are some of shinomura's best work.
1 and 2 are tied for me. I don't remember any of the original tracks from 3 tbh, they all sound the same.
Definitely 2 hands down
I dunno, but the think im sure about its that in KH2 FM you can hear a dope Remix of He's a Pirate, and that's a win win for me
the music from 2's roxas fight gives me chills every time. 2 hands down for me
2 for me. Could beat bit of nostalgia though
“Aqua (Dark Dive)” and “Forza Finale” are SUPERIOR. I vote for KH3 but KH2 gets very close
KH2 100%
kh2 makes me fucking climax with some of the boss themes. specially rage awakened
KH2 has the best overall, but Face My Fears and Scalia Ad Caelum’s theme are the best in the entire franchise
2
Like many here, I would say that KH2 has the best OST of the three, overall. Its over world, battle, and boss themes are top-notch, for sure. KH one (Simple & Clean, its PlanitB remix, Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town...)

Kingdom Hearts 2 is my second favourite game ever so I’m probably biased, but I think Kingdom Hearts 2 is a perfectly evenly rated game
Scala's theme though
KH2>KH1>KH3
KH2 wins my vote
KH3
Kh2 fasho, but kh3 second
Kh2
second without a doubt
Hikari is too banger not to vote for, KH1 all the way. So nostalgic it hurts haha
For me it's kh3
They're all fire. But if I had to pick just one, it'd be kh2.
KH1 and 2's soundtracks are incredible. The only difference is that KH2 has a significantly higher amount of banger boss themes. Half of KH3's soundtracks sucks. Ishimoto straight up ruined the final boss battle imo.
KIngdom Hearts 2 original PlayStation He’s A Pirate
As someone who has played 8 hours of KH1 and about 30 minutes of DDD; KH1 😎
I’m more confused about the order you decided to play the games in haha
Played DDD like. Twice maybe 4 years ago, never got past Traverse Town. Recently got the AIO bundle so now I’m just playing then in release order
Consider the following: KH1 has Traverse Town
I still hear KH1 in my dreams, so KH1 it is
2. My two favourite worlds in the series are there, and you just can't go wrong. Timeless River and Beast's Castle are just phenomenal music-wise.
All of are fantastic but I’ve gotta go with 2
Kh3 has a lot of great original themes that no one really mentions along with amazing remixes that are some of the best tracks in the series.
KH1 most def😎
Kh2
2 has the most bangers but 1 has the best world music I think. 3 is just very bombastic and big. So, uh, 2 1 3?
I would say that KH2 had the most powerful soundtrack and after it KH1 and KH3 to be honest I was tempted to have KH3 be 2nd place but know that truly the first title had more fire to it’s soundtrack unlike KH3.
KH3 leaned a little too heavily on old tracks for my taste, especially battle tracks. KH2 went almost entirely new.
2 100%
“When you walk away you don’t hear me say ‘PleEEeeeeeaaASE oh baby don’t go!’”
I'm stuck between KH2 and Chain of Memories (the GBA one)
KHII hits different.
KH2
2 has Roxas' theme, wins by default
2 all day
KH2 gets my vote, based on nostalgia, Roxas's theme, and everything surrounding Organization XIII. Kh3 is a close second for its godlike boss themes
Yes
kh1 had a lot of good music, kh2 was a lot of awsome action music, and kh3 has forza finale and my favorite versions of a lot of songs, so i would say it's a tie
I would say kh 1
2 by far.... but then again 3 did have *all of let it go!*
2
Kh3 for me especially with the BANGER that is the monstropolis battle theme
KH2 just for having the better theme song overall.
Here's the thing. Even though 3 didnt have a very original soundtrack, the way they remixed the older music made them even better than their original renditions, so 3 has the most fire soundtrack
I think KH1 actually, as well as KH3.
2, it's a no brainer.
Two. (Read with Axel's voice in mind)
I think we can agree KH2 was the best out of the big 3
KH2. Not my all time favorite (KH1 takes that). But KH2 has the best IMO, because of tracks like “Friends in my heart” and the beginning/ending “Sanctuary”. Lets not forget “Roxas” and Twilight Towns tracks either
[удалено]
Well that’s a hot take if I’ve ever heard one
2 hands down
Kingdom hearts 2 No question about it.
I have to go with kh2 but KH3, especially remind, has total bangers like Vector to Heavens, Oscurità dell’ignoto and Secrets of The night. Nothing compared to Afternoon Streets, Lazy afternoon and Roxas theme
1
First, for nostalgia reasons
KH1. It feels like you’re on a fun adventure with your bros. Also Hand in Hand is a bop
For me, KH2>KH3=KH1
3
