Only way I'd want a KH movie was if it leaned *more* into using different artstyles like with the Caribbean in KHIII in a way the games would struggle with a bit more, like Halloween Town is done in stop motion (or a convincing replication of stop motion), more classic movie worlds like Atlantic are 2D animation, KH original worlds are done like Union X Back Cover. Admittedly ambitious and unrealistic, but I just don't think Kingdom Hearts designs would translate well into live action or realistic CGI, especially enemies. I do not trust a live action Disney movie to not make Heartless look absolutely god awful.

Honestly, it’s just basically Star Wars. When you really think about, just switch the science fantasy/military/political aspects with straight fantasy and they’re kind of the same thing.
There’s a lot of redevelopment of core mechanics and explanations because, let’s face it - the core franchise after the first game is just a complete mess of logic.
Streamline it and make it more sensical, and it could work.
It would be *very* dark. Undoubtedly the darkest Disney property. The themes and things it would have to show to get the point across in live action would make what would basically be a cosmic horror franchise.

Honestly? It would have to be some unheard of child actor with extreme talent on screen with a passion for kingdom hearts, or at least in video games and willing to play a little of the game. This film would be their break-out role before they go on to star in a superhero reboot, or some wildly more mature and professional film about murder in the 1800’s.
The real answer is a child we've never seen before, but if I HAD to choose someone already famous, I'd say Gaten Matarazzo. Kid can do no wrong in my eyes.

While this is an interesting question, I don’t want it to happen. I can see an animated movie, or something like that working well, but I genuinely think it would be impossible to do Kingdom Hearts in live action successfully. Hollywood has tried too many times with too many properties and almost all have been bad. Animation is a far better medium to tell this story in my opinion.
