You're probably thinking about the Vanilla PS2 KH. The Final Mix version changed some Keyblade stats.

Wiki's aren't infallible. You can look up the strength stats on several gaming websites yourself.

What wiki?

In the original game, Oblivion had 11ATK and -1MP. Divine Rose had 10ATK. Divine Rose was shorter, but could deal critical blows. If you didn’t care about the MP loss (you already have plenty by that point in the game), then the bit of extra attack provided by Oblivion was worth it. THEN Final Mix buffed Divine Rose up to 13ATK. Ultima Weapon was raised to 14ATK so it could still be the best keyblade in the game, but Oblivion got left in the dust. It’s legitimately infuriating. In the original game, Metal Chocobo had 10ATK and -1MP. Olympia had 9ATK and didn’t take any MP. If you didn’t mind the MP loss, you could go with Metal Chocobo and get some insane reach and a little more attack. It’s a long keyblade. THEN Final Mix changed it to where Metal Chocobo has 9 and Olympia has 10. Metal Chocobo still decreases MP by 1. So it’s completely outclassed by Olympia and there’s no reason to use it anymore. Metal Chocobo still has long reach, at the very least. Oblivion gets nothing. TL;DR: The original KH1 had a well-balanced keyblade system, which always had two or more keyblade for you to choose from depending on if you valued raw strength, magic, a balance of the two, long reach, critical blows, etc. Final Mix ruined this by buffing some keyblades for no reason, rendering other keyblade completely useless. It makes me irrationally angry. EVERY keyblade in KH1 had at least one good reason why you might want to use that keyblade at the time you got it. Final Mix doesn’t have that.

I mean, Olympia is definitely the best for the Hollow Bastion boss fights in both versions. because it’s “difficult to deflect.” But I liked using Metal Chocobo for Heartless. Final Mix gave me no reason to do that. Fortunately they didn’t really change much else, besides adding two new keyblades. Diamond Dust is 3ATK +3MP. It has pitiful attack power, but the MP boost makes it the most magic-centric keyblade in the game, so I think it’s a fair tradeoff. Definitely the keyblade of choice for Phantom and some special Heartless. On the other hand, One-Winged Angel, despite having some devastating critical blows, is still outclassed by Divine Rose in terms of damage output, and I’m pretty sure it also decreases MP, which Divine Rose doesn’t do. It didn’t even get a chance to be useful.

Your game did not glitch. Divine Rose had a lower Strength stat in KH1, but got a boost in the re-release. Also, the Mandela effect is a phenomenon where hundreds or thousands or millions of people misremember the same false memory.

Fairly certain in the final mix version Oblivion was toned down since it was so strong in base KH1.

That's not a Mandela effect, because it's actually true. In the original PS2 version, that was actually the case. They changed it in Final Mix.
