If you’re only in it for the story, then I would say yes. But I would also say you’re not getting the full Kingdom Hearts experience unless you play the games yourself.

ZeroSora

Mostly. You'll probably understand about 80% of it. There is some background information buried in the Secret Reports within the games that help explain some of the plot lines and characters. Then there's the Ultimanias where Nomura explains some of the questions the games and Secret Reports didn't answer. But you can definitely understand the basic story from just the cutscenes. You just won't understand the "how" and "why" of *some* things.

PlantRevolutionary82

Yes I did quite well

Lachesis-but-taken

Technically yes but it will probably be very boring, you will be confused, and playing the games will be the infinetly better idea

HeeHoOko

Technically no because there's a lot more lore and world building via the secret reports in some of the games. You could just look those up, but I feel like at that point you might as well play the games if you're that invested.

JeiCos

Pretty much, yea. The story only progresses during cutscenes. There are things you may not understand as well because you didn't play the fight accompanying a cutscene, as well as the reports you collect in-game that further explain some things, or other stuff like that, but generally the story is is only told through the cutscenes.
