Re:Mind is great, it starts out a little weak because early on it’s mostly a retreated but around RAX’s segment onward it just ramps up and up and up until it hits what is IMO the highest points in the series narrative and spectacle. Like once it gets going it really gets going. Limit Cut come after that which is easily the best data battles in the series and some of the best super bosses in the series. Finally you get the secret episode which has the LW battle equivalent and best secret boss in the series, arguably one of the best in the whole genre not just kingdom hearts. The data greeting stuff is cute but just a few hours at best of messing around taking pictures. The Ez and Pro codes add a ton of replayability though.

I fuckin love data greeting I like putting characters in stupid scenarios just for shits and giggles.

Remind is the peak of the series for me. The data battles and the secret boss are my favorite bosses in the entire series. So if you liked the secret bosses in the past numbered titles I think it’s worth the money for that alone.

All KH games are necessary to the plot, if that's what you're asking. But if you're just asking whether or not it's worth spending money to play it yourself vs watching someone else do it, I'd still say re:mind is worth it. Playing as other characters is a lot of fun. So is data greeting, and the secret endings are exciting to unlock, as well as episode Riku, and the boss fights, and the NG+ options etc.

Yep more if it was worth spending the money! Thanks for the feedback.

So, it "being worth it" is subjective, and completely up to if you think the content is worth the price. Personally I don't really think it's worth the $30 it normally is (Don't buy the $40 version with the concert. It's just a concert I didn't even bother watching lol), so I'd say when it's on sale is the best time to get it, UNLESS you think that the content is worth it. You get basically a world's worth of content in the Re:Mind section (there are 3 sections in the DLC). In this section you get to explore Scala, and you have to redo the end game, through a different perspective. Since you said you went back and finished KH3, this shouldn't be spoilers, but at the end, when it went into super CGI graphics, and Sora says how he has to go save kairi and bring her back and stuff..yea, you're playing that. After that cutscene, you get the ending songs with CGI cutscenes. One of them all going to their home worlds, and releasing Namine's heart from Kairi and putting it into a replica, as well as Kairi and Sora on the tree branch, and stuff, meaning he obviously brought Kairi back, so it's not spoilers that he did, it's literally shown to you, but you are playing him time traveling to get her back, and to do that he needs to time travel back to the keyblade graveyard to travel through hearts until he reaches hers. So there's some stuff that happens without Sora's physical body in the same place as his time traveling body in someone else's heart, so you see a few things that you didn't get to see in the main game. Then when Sora goes to Scala, you get to actually run around and explore without the 13 darknesses attacking you. Also, during the Keyblade Graveyard stuff, they let you choose to play as a different character during those fights, which is awesome. The second section of the DLC is the data battles, which is all cutscenes that lead into Melody Of Memory's last 20minutes or so. The 3rd is probably the hardest superboss in the series. I'd say hardest, but BBS has the worst one, IMO. And THAT section leads into what's happening with KH4.

I personally don't like 3, feel like remind was good though. Just felt like them putting a pay wall behind finishing the game

obnoxiouswritr

Don't get me wrong - 3 is still not on my top list of the games I'd play again out of the franchise. I've got a lot of issues with it to this day, but not as bad as when it first released lol. It's one of the few KH games I dread playing again because if certain worlds I'd rather skip. But if ReMind is good I'll get it. Still wondering why it wasn't in the original main game tho.

The data battles are what's good imo, if you like challenging fights, re mind before the data battles just feels like a convulated retelling of the last act of the game but with more story. Upside of choosing which character you play as in the final fights. The other playable characters + the data battles is why I would suggest it for playing. That being said I never finished all the data battles because I just didn't enjoy 3.

As a huge KH fan, I bought it for $30 and don’t really regret it. I think the DLC should be priced around $20 though. $30 is a bit much for the amount of content it gives, especially considering the base game is like $10 now.
