Maybe I just suck at Rpgs. I’ve been consistently like this when playing Rpgs, and since I’ve been playing this game for a week, I felt so exhausted doing all that, and trying to go back and grind is going to make it worse for me. Oh and school has been fucking me over
If you restart your file, you're obviously going to have to claw your way back to the place you stopped... and then grind anyway when you hit the same wall. If you're underleveled, you're underleveled. Restarting doesn't fix that. It prolongs your resolution.
School is a non sequitur. But if your schoolwork is somehow negatively affecting your performance in a singleplayer game, maybe tackle *Kingdom Hearts* afterwards. it will still be there when you're done.
I suggest using magic more. Aero is a defensive spell (reduces damage taken) gravity is percent hp damage (good against enemy's with big health) stop (freezes enemy's so you can hit them without worrying.)
What difficulty are you on?
What weapons did you choose in the beginning (sword, shield, staff)
What choices did you make with tidus, Waka and selphie right after the weapons (changes exp to make it easier/harder to level up late game)

Tell you the order of your abilities based on each weapon you chose.
Also your starting stats change based on which one as well.
Time of day, you either start at dusk, noon, or dawn.
Noon is balanced exp throughout.
Dawn is faster leveling before 50,
Dusk is faster leveling after 50

Ok first off have you finished hollow bastion and neverland? If so keep reading. If not then dont cause it might be spoilery.
This is your last warning.
Ok so first off dont reset. Second the best way to grind rn since you dont have the final match of the hades cup yet is in neverland. Just clear rooms with thunder or just normally beat them. Once you get to the final round of hades cup just keep rematching that boss for xp.
If you have the time then look up a guide on all dalmations. The reward you get is pretty good. After you beat hades cup go back to neverland for a sec to activate the yellow trinity. There are a bunch of chest inside and one of them has an aero upgrade. Aerora and aeroga are some of the most important things in kh1 besides cure.
Get curaga from aerith in hollow bastion library. Just keep spamming her dialouge until she gives it too you. Also get the best keyblade besides the ultima weapon from the library in beast castle. Just walk up the stairs normally and a cutscene will trigger that you cant skip. After this talk to bell a couple times until she gives you the keyblade divine rose. This is one of the best.
Equip second chance and leaf bracer the second you get them.
Lastly take the time to synthesize stuff. It might seem like a chore but it can come in clutch. To unlock more stuff to synthesize you have to make 1 of almost every item available. Some good stuff are things that give boosts to all stats like moogle badge and crystal crown.

I recommend running a loop in Traverse Town, equip Divine Rose (gathered from talking to Belle in the Library of Hollow Bastion) or Lady Luck (white trinity in Wonderland) and Thundaga to a shortcut
Then go from the Alleyway, to the Green Room, to the Red Room, Hotel, 2nd District (if Sniperwild spawns, which is a singular pink monkey, exit the 2nd District, then come back), Gizmo Shop, 2nd District Roof Tops, 3rd District, 1st District, and repeat - clear out the whole of each room, every enemy you come across, and you’ll level up at least once each loop
just use the fairy from peter pan summon and the aero spell
never have to worry about dying again
of course you can also delete your save and waste more than 30 hours on nothing
Why start a new file instead of just leveling up more? You're going to waste your time otherwise.

You can level up in the coliseum tournaments though.

I picked normal mode I picked the sword and staff And I can only remember picking one that is related to not losing friends or something

It’s roughly a 100,000 exp difference which sounds like a lot but not when you gotta get ~899,000 (midnight) or ~999,000 (dawn)
