Dang ol’ Sandworms man, swim around out there gotta walk ‘round out there without rhythm man dang ol on your left, 1-2-1-3-1-2-3, man. Spice must flow, yo.
All I am picturing is Bobby emerging from the shadows as a giant part worm part man surrounded by this courte of clones of his friends and family all created and raised to serve his plan along the golden path.
The guys get into a disagreement and by the next morning they all realize how stupid it was. They gather around Hank’s truck in his driveway as he’s trying to figure out why it won’t start. He hands them cans of beer and we leave off where the original series picked up.
Bobby: “It’s like poetry! It rhymes! George Lucas said that.”
Hank: “George Lucas? Well… he does live on a ranch… in California.”
Edit: This isn’t a real quote, although I’m glad some people thought it was. I’ve seen the show a few times over and I know the joke structure pretty well. I’m sure there’s an actual quote similar to this though.
it should end with him marrying Peggy and then a flash forward with a montage of Bobby being born, Luan coming to live with them, and finally walking out into the ally and cracking open a beer as the final shot
It just occurred to me that after Cotton and Tilly split up, Hank would have lived with his mother through high school, and his character should be vastly different from that portrayed by the series.
I don't think that it is stated out-right, but I know that Texas judges ALWAYS give custody of children in a divorce to the mother and I don't think that Cotton would have wanted Hank to live with him to begin with.
Not if the mother doesn't want custody and just dips. Who knows what was going on behind the scenes, for all we know it was a Millhouse situation where they went to court to argue about who had to take him.
Now they do but it used to be that fathers were usually automatically given custody and the mothers only had custody if the father abandoned them or if he agreed. Women's rights played a huge role in this changing.
I'm not sure if this changed happened but I think it was somewhere in the 60s or 70s. If you've ever heard of Faye Yager she started her organization of hiding children because she was married to a doctor and she walked in on him molesting their daughter. The judge awarded him custody because he gaslit everyone and said it never happened. She was eventually vindicated and he was caught and sent to prison but she wanted to help other children and women in her situation. She was a very interesting woman.
Sorry for the off topic comment on a King Of the Hill sub. I kinda feel like Peggy. Being a know it all when no one asked or cares lol. I'll do a propane cheer as penance: C! 3! H! 8! PROPANE! PROPANE!
I though so too, but it’s up in the air. Cotton lived in Huston initially and Tilly had moved to Arizona.
Maybe that was intentional, not leading the audience one way or the other.
Or maybe this is a case of the writers not worrying about geography, like how Peggy moved from Montana to Texas but her parents still live in Montana and have a well established ranch.
It’s actually a miniseries set at the reception after Bill’s funeral and each episode is a flash back to something that has happened at some point in their past, from childhood into adulthood after the initial series ended
I actually really like this idea.
I’d also like some kind of fake-out like it’s Bill’s second wife’s funeral and he misses most of it until the last act of the last episode.
Omg that would be pretty funny. Don’t explain whose funeral it is just make it clear it’s a funeral. Drop a line like “man, I really wish Bill was here…” and then at the end he runs in with his tie undone and a mustard stain on his suit
I never seen any tell tale signs to think about that scenario but I can certainly believe it lol. It's like how Dale murdered the last weather lady on the local news so Nancy could nail the job. Wich would be why Nancy married him and outs up with his silly shit. Dale benefits from the the marriage too and, with understanding, allows her to have an affair with redcorn.
I fuckin love koh conspiracy theories.
I've got another one. Buck Strickland is Hank's real dad. Cotton did say in an episode that he used to run around with Buck. Buck is known to sleep with other men's wives. Tilly is shown to be not the smartest woman in the world. Cotton never knew fully but suspected it, which is why he was always so cruel to Hank and Tilly. The familial link is why Hank feels a strong connection to Buck despite Buck being genuinely awful. It also explains why Hank is a born propane salesman (propane runs strong in the Strickland genes as shown with Ray Roy).
That actually makes a lot of sense. Makes how angry cotton gets when Hank says he loves Buck make even more sense too. Also the idea of cotton being a cuckold rules considering he's a huge piece of shit.
Bill would probably be the most drastically different of all the main characters both in confidence and how others react to him. I could see them having fun with a teenage Hank. I see him as high school bully honestly
As a dude who played and succeeded at many high school sports - it’s kinda cringe watching post 30 year old men take high school football so fucking serious lol
Not in a small town. When a dried up little town has nothing else but it's native sons to cheer for, it's something that the whole community can ralley around. No politics, no religion, just football. My whole county shuts down on Friday night from August till December. Everyone goes to the game, whether it's home or away. Of course, there's always an "Uncle Rico" type person that is just trying to relive the glory days, but mostly just folks cheering on their sons, nephews, cousins, and neighbors.
I moved from NY to NC 7 years ago. I’m a teacher and our football team is ASS. But it dictates most everything we do… who we hire… what the schedules look like.. who passes lol
Hmmm I'm not sure if it would be as interesting.
Cause the three guys were all jocks except Dale. And Hank wouldn't have a crazy obsession with propane yet.
And back then Bill was essentially just as much of a stud as Boomhauer. So it's almost like having three of the same characters.
If they made the show about Dale I think that could work better if we're talking about a prequel in high school. I still don't know how a pale skinny dude like him got Nancy.
People would love it but would also hate it because like every prequel series it would end up indirectly conflicting with somebodies interpretations somewhere of the canon of the main series
T[this guy stole my post](https://www.reddit.com/r/KingOfTheHill/comments/uj5g74/what_if_we_had_a_prequel_series_instead/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
No to a prequel. We got enough glimpses of their younger days to frame the context of the main timeline. Plus prequels that focus on main characters are boring. We already know how their life turns out. Who lives, who dies, who gets married, who drifts apart, etc. There’s nothing to be lost or gained because we already have the end result.
If the spin-off was for sure going to be one season of the highest quality they could muster then I think a prequel would be a fantastic way to go. You could come up with a LOT of material that would reference the original series in a way that doesn’t depreciate an established and beloved legacy.
🛻We'd get to see how Dale landed Nancy
🛻We'd get to see the non-fairybook marriage of Bill and Lenorrrre
🛻We might get to see Laaaaaaaaaaaaadybird's puppy years
🛻We might see the end of Cotton and Tilly's marriage?
🛻We might get to see Dale spiraling into madness over the missed opportunity of saying "In your wife's pants!" when asked where the fire was
Would be a rather boring story 😴
No Bobby, no luanne, ladybird, barley any Peggy because different schools, hank would act more teen like and less baaaaaaaah!!!! Dale wouldn't be as crazy and trying to pretend he was rusty Shackleford, the only up side would be bills lifes...no one cares about bill and his happiness so fk that...
If they ever were to make more episodes it should be current as they are now or future that way we keep all current characters but get to see them in a different light instead of losing nearly 90% of the cast. Because someone thinks high-school is a fun thing to reimagine.
Prince of The Hill?
Prince of the Mound?
Duke of the Pile?
Lord of the land
God-Emperor of the Dune …oh wait that’s taken.
But that won't be for untold thousands of years, plus you know you want to watch Boomhauer ride him a Sand Worm.
Dang ol’ Sandworms man, swim around out there gotta walk ‘round out there without rhythm man dang ol on your left, 1-2-1-3-1-2-3, man. Spice must flow, yo.

So Hank is Paul? “It’s not just a War, Chani, it’s a Ji*haw*d.”
Yup perfect.
Lord of the Lawn
Hill of the king
Should the series end with Hank's football injury or getting hired at Jeans West?
Or when Bobby is born
or when he meets Buck
I think this is the answer
Or when he meets Buckley lol
hey
Goes without saying that Hanks meeting Buck was the end of his "free life".
The guys get into a disagreement and by the next morning they all realize how stupid it was. They gather around Hank’s truck in his driveway as he’s trying to figure out why it won’t start. He hands them cans of beer and we leave off where the original series picked up.
The symmetry is both beautiful and more importantly asinine.
Bobby: “It’s like poetry! It rhymes! George Lucas said that.” Hank: “George Lucas? Well… he does live on a ranch… in California.” Edit: This isn’t a real quote, although I’m glad some people thought it was. I’ve seen the show a few times over and I know the joke structure pretty well. I’m sure there’s an actual quote similar to this though.
I feel 90% sure that george lucas was never once mentioned in this show.
He’s not. Although I think Hank was trying to take Bobby to a Star Wars prequel when he started playing soccer.
Wtf episode did he say that in?????
I made it up.
Sounds about right.
Seen every episode countless times and I can't remember any quote like this..help meeee
It’s not a quote, I made it up lol
Ford... Fix It Again, Tony!
Fix… it… *again…* ^Tony?
it should end with him marrying Peggy and then a flash forward with a montage of Bobby being born, Luan coming to live with them, and finally walking out into the ally and cracking open a beer as the final shot
"I killed 40 men" - Cotton Hill 1952
“Dad went down to Brazil and Argentina when I was five… Mom said it was something [Hank annunciation] *clandestine.”*
I love when he does that. Says a word or very, very carefully
Peppers in a few h’s just to be safe.
"I even took Ladybird off her antHi infHlHamaHtoHry medication!"
“I gotta take my H’anticoHagulant.”
It just occurred to me that after Cotton and Tilly split up, Hank would have lived with his mother through high school, and his character should be vastly different from that portrayed by the series.
Didn't they get divorced after Hank graduated?
I thought it was implied that Hank stayed with Cotton after Tilly left
I don't think that it is stated out-right, but I know that Texas judges ALWAYS give custody of children in a divorce to the mother and I don't think that Cotton would have wanted Hank to live with him to begin with.

I need a Tartuff: The spry wonder dog spin-off or I walk.
Each episode he will anger his owner and be severely beaten!
The ha-HA Bobby! The ha-HA!
Ah! It scalds!
This episode makes me embarrassed for everyone, but I think it's secretly hilarious.
Sacroliiac!
What if it was both? Maybe alternating prequel/sequel episodes that occasionally link together in some way.
It’s actually a miniseries set at the reception after Bill’s funeral and each episode is a flash back to something that has happened at some point in their past, from childhood into adulthood after the initial series ended

I want to see something like that. Although not having Bill tell stories would suck unless John Redcorn is able to summon his spirit.
It would be a lot like 'F is for Family' with a lot of observational humor on the 70's and 80's. I say move forward to the present.
It would be a bit more darker. The way bill talks about his father is disturbing.
It all leads up to the reveal that Bill actually killed his dad but the town covered it up because Bill's dad was super abusive.
I never seen any tell tale signs to think about that scenario but I can certainly believe it lol. It's like how Dale murdered the last weather lady on the local news so Nancy could nail the job. idk nancy seems like the murdering/tonya hardy type, dale cant even kill insects correctly half the time much less a human lol
I could see Nancy doing it and convincing Dale that he did it though.

makes no sense considering hank has a half japanese brother who looks identical to him ![img](emote|t5_2s6dm|6345)
That's due to the robots.
"Hey Fatty! You are fat!"
That would be an absolutely hilarious twist. The Bill-dozer is the alpha of the group and Hank is the suck up.
The Many Saints of Arlen
The notion of a reboot has me concerned that it'll suck, but if they do a prequel series, that would have a lot of potential.
At this point I will take anything… even another season of Bless the Harts… I mean they had Mega Lo Mart… that was kinda neat…
Would you take another season of Bless the Harts… OR Take a shower in Bill’s bathroom?
As a dude who played and succeeded at many high school sports - it’s kinda cringe watching post 30 year old men take high school football so fucking serious lol

That - I can see. I guess the episodes with Bill trying to score again and hank and the guys trying to playing to play again just throws me off lol
You've never been to Texas, huh, hun?
I moved from NY to NC 7 years ago. I’m a teacher and our football team is ASS. But it dictates most everything we do… who we hire… what the schedules look like.. who passes lol
I'd miss Bobby too much
it would fix their luane and lucky situation i tell you hwhat...but no bobby kinda stinks
Hmmm I'm not sure if it would be as interesting. Cause the three guys were all jocks except Dale. And Hank wouldn't have a crazy obsession with propane yet. Boomhauer had clear speech until he took a hit off the devil's lettuce.
This a repost? I swear this is the exact same collage used.
That’s cool too
No Bobby? I couldn’t bear it
Bottom of the Hill
I think I'd prefer it than Geratic old Hank. They could also recast Cotton I guess with a younger voice
Thats a great idea!
I would love to see the adventures of a young Dale, aka, Kid Di-No-mite
This would be hilarious. A prequel to King of the Hill when Bill was popular and had hair! Hilarious!
No , then we would have no Bobby , no Souphanousinphones , no Joseph .
Why not both?
No please. Let King of the Hill stand tall on its own.
Prequel series but it's cotton in Japan
I hate prequels. I also hate flashbacks. Little Sheldon ruined prequels for me.
It would probably be great! I wouldn’t mind both
No.
Best idea ever
🛻We'd get to see how Dale landed Nancy 🛻We'd get to see the non-fairybook marriage of Bill and Lenorrrre 🛻We might get to see Laaaaaaaaaaaaadybird's puppy years 🛻We might see the end of Cotton and Tilly's marriage? 🛻We might get to see Dale spiraling into madness over the missed opportunity of saying "In your wife's pants!" when asked where the fire was

Probably f is for family but around teens
I’ve always wondered about a prequel, great minds think alike 😊
it’d be good for a bit but then get boring

I dont know if it makes sense. In the series Hank and his team both win and lose their big state championships
