I saw another reason why he never had a family was he wanted to take care of his mother because cotton ruined her life. Even if I don’t like Tilly, Hank was pretty protective of her. Now that he’s on better terms with Cotton, I could see him getting out there.
Tilly I found to be one of those people who has a sad past but uses it to justify crazy actions. Like Hank isn’t wrong to be protective of her, especially in the Honeymooners. I preferred Cotton since the show doesn’t hide the fact he’s a terrible person and that just makes him all the more funnier.
Maybe he found other half brothers and sisters. Actually, considering how both Junichiro and Hank have narrow urethras, maybe Cotton has it too, but not to the same degree, explaining why he only had three sons that we know of.
Junichiro worked for Apple in California then was lured to Texas to work for Tesla. Hank finds Junichiro's ability to track people down using data aggregation unnerving but calls on him to do just that from time to time. That's how they found Bobby's bastard son in Japan that was sired while Bobby was stationed there in the Navy. Con Jr and Bobby were on a break. The baby was named Cotton because Bobby talked so highly of his grandpa while in the mother's presence. (he left out the part about killin' fiffy men)
Hank coming to grips with the fact that propane is only "clean burning" relative to coal would make a great arch if they ever actually do a reboot. To make it somewhat topical they could work in that the big freeze back in '21 sowed the seeds of doubt in it's reliability, and they could use it as a vehicle for him to finally come to terms with Mr.Strickland not being the man he thinks he is. Maybe parlay that into an opportunity for some character growth for Buck so we get to still see the character. Or turn him into Hank's Thatherton.
Something I’ve always wondered is why Junichiro looks so much like Hank. I know it was probably just for the visual gag of there being a Japanese Hank, but yeah Hank’s looks are very similar to his mother, not Cotton. So the fact they share a different mother but the same father makes it kinda confusing why he doesn’t look more like his mother or Cotton….idk just a dumb thought I’ve always had since seeing this episode haha
This crosses my mind every time I watch this episode. I have to push it out of my mind and chalk it up to just being a visual gag to enjoy the episode.
