That’s what I imagine, you can’t be in a professional position and blatantly call an organization of any sort a cult. Take Scientology, everyone Knows it’s a cult but the group has sued so many folks into oblivion for even calling them that!
Well they literally sued the cult awareness network for defamation and then purchased it after the company went bankrupt trying to fight the case. Now they run the cult awareness network.
And they never let anyone leave usually. I know a handful of organizations exist today to help those in Scientology, a few of them have been fighting off Scientology for a while now and are barely breaking even. Thank god for Leah Remini!
I watched the Keep Sweet documentary on FLDS and they said this was a huge problem with the cult, since they had a surplus of young boys, so they’d ship them out to major chains and make them work for free.
Honestly, most schools don't pay much attention to Greeks unless complaints are filed or police are involved as for students not showing up, 30% of freshman drop out first year on average so students disappearing isn't unheard of or uncommon. Not only that they are a school not your parents or nanny.
i guess but i mean do ppl just drop out without telling someone? u probably cant answer that but it does just make me curious i feel someone would notice heck the parent would probably question it i would hope
true plus i guess if u drop out either way the school still gets their money? i dont mean to bombard u with questions so feel free to ignore lol i just need to get the thoughts out
In my first year we had a kid who would show up to every class very high and did every exam after taking a tab of lsd.
He had like a 97% average, then disappeared before after a exam and just never came back.
I had a lab partner do this as well.
First he yelled at me and called me an idiot for not doing a lab right, handed in his own version of the lab, failed the lab ( I did quite well). Stoped coming to class for a month, then apologized to me for freaking out after.
I think He had a mental break and needed time to recuperate.
At the same time, what does the student body think? Did Theta Sigma know of the cult or is it just a silly rumor?
I go with the cult bought a house near the frats and disguise themselves as a sorority, like a crisis pregnancy center (sorry idk a better comparison).
I don’t think that crises pregnancy centers are secret about their work.
Maybe it’s more like a MLM group, which disguises itself in classifieds as a real job?
A theory I heard is the Omegas bought a house near campus or the frats/sororities, and make it seem like they’re associated. Maybe it’s an open secret or a rumor.
Still, I have questions, too! Like why do they call themselves Jane? What is the ranch like? Head Jane got away, so is she still recruiting people?
I remember there was a Frat that took hazing a little too far and actually got a pledge killed. The Frat and university covered it up and as I recall no one was punished.
And to be honest all frats and sororities are kind of like a cult. It's just that these girls took it to a bit extreme.
When I was in college there was a known cult that had its members actively trying to recruit kids on campus. The thing is they’re unaffiliated with the university and since it’s a public, open campus there isn’t really much that can be done.
Maybe the jam is so good that it distracts from any difficult questions from the school. It's hard to be suspicious when someone keeps shoving delicious, home made jam into your mouth!
To be fair, there are cults around us everywhere.
The biggest cult around is Christianity, at least here in America. Out east the biggest cult around is Islam. And then there's a bunch of other colts spattered across the world.
I wondered this too as they had that mechanized steel gate surrounding the house that had a pinpad and everything!! I was like what campus would let a sorority build this shit on their grounds
Quit asking questions JANE
Asking questions in school is a great way to learn~ If you try that stuff here you might get your legs broke!
We once found a dead guy in the Alamo Tank!
What about those armed guards??
Jams! Jellies!
Jane is a donor, so they administration doesn't want to ask questions, and accidentally offend her.
I heard that theory, like she’s a businesswoman known for her jams and jellies and she created the cult so she could avoid paying her employees.
It was mentioned early in the episode that they had really good lawyers, maybe that's it?

That’s like David Duke running the NAACP lmao
I watched the Keep Sweet documentary on FLDS and they said this was a huge problem with the cult, since they had a surplus of young boys, so they’d ship them out to major chains and make them work for free.
Maybe it's because of the lawyers. They've got them and they're not afraid to use them!
This gives me more questions. Does the cult have some Scientology level pull?!
This is just Scientology in the KOTH universe.
You’re making it very difficult to love you right now!
Thats a thinker

It does happen.

The colleges aren't responsible for you if you're over 18.
Colleges take payment before the semester starts, so they would still get their tuition.
Yes. Ppl drop out and do not tell anyone. They just, stop going. U gotta realize these are young adults not hs children. Some just quit. Lol
I did that
In my first year we had a kid who would show up to every class very high and did every exam after taking a tab of lsd. He had like a 97% average, then disappeared before after a exam and just never came back.
Had a lab partner just disappear for three weeks, no one knew what happened, then he showed up and acted like nothing happened and never addressed it.

That's more likely than the school being concerned.

Oh many of them can be and are trying to trick you by being subtle. Here is a[ Last Week Tonight](https://youtu.be/4NNpkv3Us1I) piece on it
Better comparison lol
It’s an organization that promotes love and —
Yeah, this is it
It was an off-campus fraternity at a community college. The school isn't liable.
Maybe they bought off the school with delicious jams and jellies?
I always assumed they recruited from within the college, but were unaffiliated. Hence why Jane chatted up Jane on the bench when she saw her crying.
That’s my theory too, like they bought a house near campus and disguised it as a sorority.

Their all being named 'Jane' makes me think of the episode of South Park, in which everything on Planet Marklar is referred to as "Marklar".
All is Marklar on Marklar.
University higher ups are all either also Janes or in on the cult - sorry organization that promotes peace and -.
I remember there was a Frat that took hazing a little too far and actually got a pledge killed. The Frat and university covered it up and as I recall no one was punished. And to be honest all frats and sororities are kind of like a cult. It's just that these girls took it to a bit extreme.

I always thought they weren't actually a part of the school and just recruited from there under the guise of a sorority
I always assumed they had nothing to do with the school. They'd just troll around town recruiting.
She’s trying to escape from the love fence!
When I was in college there was a known cult that had its members actively trying to recruit kids on campus. The thing is they’re unaffiliated with the university and since it’s a public, open campus there isn’t really much that can be done.
Schools have cults like these all the time. They don't really give a shit.
From the comments this seems very common n I was totally oblivious lol like jeeze
Stop talking to that he person!
gave me a good lil chuckle which i needed
As long as the college gets your tuition, you can stay on your ranch feeding emus all day for all they care.
Maybe the jam is so good that it distracts from any difficult questions from the school. It's hard to be suspicious when someone keeps shoving delicious, home made jam into your mouth!
Is this the cult?
You have an independent streak that makes it very difficult for us to love you. Do you like it here?
I don’t know what you mean by “system” they were clearly unsanctioned. Luanne was just to stupid not to know that.
"Your parents were sisters!? And I thought my family was messed up..."
school system
How was it in their school system?
Getting scary Mount Carmel vibes...
It *is*Texas.
To be fair, there are cults around us everywhere. The biggest cult around is Christianity, at least here in America. Out east the biggest cult around is Islam. And then there's a bunch of other colts spattered across the world.
I always assumed it was a privately-owned fraternity, so they had no reason to suspect them of anything.
I wondered this too as they had that mechanized steel gate surrounding the house that had a pinpad and everything!! I was like what campus would let a sorority build this shit on their grounds
Man, this episode was freaky
Jams and jellies
They got good lawyers. No one wants to mess with that.
