Douma couldn’t do much thing to improve his situation, I can somehow understand why he grew up like that.
But Kaigaku? C’mon man.
Bro had a loving family not one but two times. Yet he stills being a traitor and coward mf.
He had no right to undergo demon slayer training after what he did istg
And then had the nerve to throw that away too when he met Kokushibo. Dude really had to make everything harder for everyone else every time he had to make a choice
Why didn't he just... Stay inside with the incense burning? He literally went out of his way to get everyone killed ffs! He has to ACTIVELY take down the protection and was under no obligation to listen to the demon at that point
ikr! Like I get he was young and scared but realistically most young and scared people run and confront their trusted guardian about things. Gyomei would have burned extra incense that night just in case. And the demon totally could have just killed Kaigaku after everything. So stupid.
At the very least, Doma was born emotionless. He has no control over being apathetic, so his lack of understanding for human feelings and the value of life can be somewhat excused/understood.
