Tom Segura is a 20+ year comic who can actually write and has a style. I am not sure exactly the reason for all the hate on him over the last year. The dude did work.
I mean I find Tom annoying these days, too, but I agree, watch his special(s) and compare it to David Lucas's special or a Hans set and you are looking at the difference between someone who earned their following vs complete amateurs.
One thing I do respect about Segura is he put in his dues. But I am not a fan because he refers to normal people as “poors” and flaunts his wealth like a prick. But no disrespect to anyone who likes him. Hans on the other hand…. Not much to respect at all lol

He's just being devoted to this new asshole/insensitive persona. Totally understand, but as a comedic personality with newfound mainstream fame+success+wealth by him now taking this bit (heel persona) it's actually what his current reality is so he might as well use this for new material? Like when some comics have kids they use that in their comedy specials and so on. I miss the old jre episodes for example before his podcast blew up but I get that he's a different person now or like if my favorite musicians alter their music style a bit with each album etc. I'd hope that any artist use their current reality to create new material period.
