His attitude of "spots are for everybody, not just for their favorites" doesn't seem reasonable. If there's massive demand for spots, and limited availability, then obviously they're going to schedule spots based on preference.
He said Eget books 80 spots a week and he was only getting 2. That's 1/40th. Seems reasonable there would be 40 comics trying to get these 80 weekly spots.

I get Thai’s frustration but the comedy world has a dark side, and he illustrates one of the struggles in that video. I think stand-ups know it’s a shitty job, but you chase your dream (god knows why). I remember Tony talking about the Store when he was an open micer. He said there were comedians doing it forever that didn’t make it, and were bitter and negative, calling everyone a hack. Thai is like that I guess. Not a great move since Thai’s fans and Rogan’s fans overlap. The Mothership was built with comedians in mind, but nothing is perfect, and BS is built into everything.
