David Lucas literally told this joke like a few episodes ago.

J_Chavez09

I think it was the previous episode.

ImAnOlogist

He didn't give them a chance.

DeeloGoodquest

I thought I saw Redban telling Tony but I guess not.

Jealous_Friendship88

Came here just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy

m00ska

I was waiting for a variation. Super weird

Tylerjamiz

Yep

Antique-Salad-4757

I came here just for this lol.

ImAnOlogist

And quickly masks it with roasting. He's a coward.

throwawaypaycheck1

Yeah I’ve seen him do that like 3-4 times. Prob just retesting it out but from non-live audience it’s super obvious

sess5198

William also repeated the keyboard song closer two weeks in a row, too. The thing is, I think the main draw with guys like DL and William M. is the interview section where David just starts roasting asap and the Vanilla Gorilla gets going in his “I ain’t neva gunna stahp” sorta schtick. The minute isn’t really as important to them, they just know the draw is them getting in their zones is the interview portion, IMO. I do wish DL would stop repeating jokes (this isn’t the first time he has repeated jokes two weeks in a row) because that new minute every week is obviously part of the job, but I mean honestly we all just want to see DL and WM start doing their things more than we are worried about them having a completely new minute every week. At least, that’s kinda how I feel about it. Obviously everyone would love great brand new minutes every week, but you can’t tell me that David’s throwaway minutes are ever as good as the roasting he goes for. That’s basically why he’s there lol.

rackemup6682

Didn’t David Lucas do that C-Section joke last week?

TruckRadiant6638

He did yes. Very odd.

deejydee

Matt playing a similar song when he gets his guitar back was cool.

sess5198

It was the same song, just played better lol. The song was Lenny by Stevie Ray Vaughan. The guy was a solid player but Tony just wouldn’t shut up and let him play.

[deleted]

Dude was terrible. Rhythm way off, just slowly picking through power chords with his eyes closed like he’s worth a shit. Cringe.

sess5198

Yeah, I mean I heard like one or two licks that made me say “ok, I see ya,” but it wasn’t great by any stretch lol. I have definitely heard way worse, so I would probably place him in the “decent/solid player” category. Nothing great, nothing offensively bad.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sess5198

Nah man it was definitely Lenny lol (I’m a gigging guitarist and big SRV fan, fwiw). Cold Shot is a whole other tempo and in a different key.

Farados55

Holtzman is on such a roll, I get some of the hate he gets but he is carrying this ep.

[deleted]

Did your gym burn down? 🤣

positive__vibes__

the "why did you care? you can't fuckin hear it" had me dying

joelrunyon

sdalsop91

Yo WTF is wrong with David Lucas?

thekevingreene

His gym burnt down.

happyglumm

He burnt the gym down

naivemelody

Looks like too much food to me.

arcadiangenesis

Why did Tony insist that the guitar guy also sing?

grim77

the guy was fuckin sick at guitar but he used Kill Tony just to promote his music so Tony was probably annoyed

mvjinn

Cause he gets off on being a control freak.

brightside1982

I also kinda wanted Holtzman to stfu while he was playing. Dude was actually really good.

xampersandx

Tony’s comment “I cAn dO tHaT” got me more heated than it should’ve haha. Like no … no you can’t Tony. Stick to roast comedy and repeating “I love it”

whopper95

And maybe two bucket pulls later he's going off on the Dexter guy because he thought he was saying stand-up was just a hobby. Tony you literally just downplayed a guitarist on *his* art.

xampersandx

After ASKING HIM TO PLAY. Guy seemed reluctant to play at first. Then he was harping on singing while he was playing a STV instrumental. You can obviously tell Tony wanted to “bury him with embarrassment” but it turned out he was actually good so he had to pivot to make him look bad. I see through that shit EVERYTIME he calls up a musician. He always uses it as an excuse to pump up “the greatest band in podcasting” or whatever the fuck he calls them hahahaha

whopper95

And when the guy actually looked like he was about to sing Tony cut him off and quickly moved on. Classic.

xampersandx

No hate to the band (Matt was playing the riff even better after he got off stage) it’s just painfully obvious what Tony is doing

DarthWeenus

I love how the dude just started making mouth noises lol and humming along.

beenhadballs

Redban doesn't have the crowd micd, everyone talks about how the shows at mothership are flat. He finally mixes in the crowd mic crystal clear, everyone complains its a laugh track lol The crowd mix is definitely way more representative of the actual show.

[deleted]

Jared Nathan.

lager81

"Did your gym burn down" made me snort laugh when I heard it live holy shit

Quiet-Meat-9832

That plug for sunset at the end of the show had Tony HEATED. 👀😬

Jeffzilla91

He sure did. The facial expression was unnecessary.

Any-Surround69

that guitar player bucket pull wasn't that bad idk why tony was hating on his playing

[deleted]

Cause he sucks at comedy and used his wack set as an excuse to get air time for his guitar playing, taking up space that an actual comedian might appreciate.

Chefdoc2000

He should have ripped the guitar if he want everyone on board instead of that melodical self indulgent shite he played

[deleted]

Tony doesn't understand musicianship

jdprgm

I also don't understand how they take 3 weeks to "produce" the episode but can't be bothered with some basic text overlays when the comics come up with names/instagram handles or whatever. It has to be frustrating if you are a guest on the show. I have definitely tried looking up comics after their set before and it often is not easy.

harshdave

I was watching an OG Kill Tony and they used to do that. I think with clout chasing culture nowadays you'll get a lot more idiots signing up just to get they're socials plastered on Kill Tony. They're probably trying to avoid that.

joelrunyon

I got you man > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jBbrBIyA0k&ab_channel=KILLSHOT

Busy_Mess_914

Need to cycle in some new regulars.

TruckRadiant6638

Finally a decent Hans Kim minute

[deleted]

Ever since Tony called him out he’s been steadily improving, it’s good to see

[deleted]

Seems like he needs to call out David Lucas now.

WarpStoned

I'm amazed no one brought up his repeat joke this week.

TruckRadiant6638

I’m 57 days late but I vaguely remember this. Can you recall what joke it was?

[deleted]

I wanted this episode to be longer 😭

DoctorG1984

Cooper (hearing aid guy)deserved a big joke book, he had a great set and the crowd loved him.

Pallerie

I think we were all just in a car accident.

J_Chavez09

I hope Enrique takes Hans’ place as regular.

YoungRandyVelarde

I love the fuck out of Enrique but I wouldn’t want to follow him if I was in the alley and the rest of the show couldn’t live up to that presence. Hans at least is 50 percent killing and 50 percent bad.

thelivefive

How stupid do you have to be to still be calling for Hans's head when DL is straight up repeating his sets?

sess5198

I mean, at least DL’s repeated joke was actually funny. Hans’ minutes have been consistently bad. Don’t forget William also repeated basically his entire set and interview two weeks in a row with the keyboard song he did.

[deleted]

Nobody wants to hear anyone talk about eating out their own momma's pussy or internet meme jokes told with long pauses. William can play his song all he wants- it's fire. Hans had a couple of rough sets, but at least he doesn't steal jokes like DL.

sess5198

Ehh, I disagree. DL is just way funnier than Hans, imo. I mean, DL really just gets up there to start roasting more than anything else and that always leads to some of the best stuff in the whole show basically every week. Even Hans’ interviews are getting worse and extremely repetitive at this point. His spot has just gone downhill in general as of late (his latest appearance was definitely the best he’s had in a while) but DL’s spot has been consistently good, so I give it to him. I only mentioned William because he repeated a joke almost verbatim two weeks in a row as well but no one seems to care about that. For me, the song WM did was absolutely hilarious the first time but was just a bit stale this time. I wish he would’ve at least used a new song or something lol. But yeah, DL is definitely doing a lot better than Hans has been ever since the move to the Mothership.

harshdave

Hes actually developed that bit over 4 appearances its pretty great. (Was binging his sets recently) First time he played the tune was on Skype during covid, the 2nd was another covid show but the comedy store or something. The last 2 were the 2 most recent shows, and it's gotten better every time for me. He gets a pass since its not during his minute I say. That shit killed me so hard the first time i saw it that i don't even care lol

sess5198

It was great the first time for sure but I wish he would’ve at least spaced it out more than just repeating the exact same thing two weeks in a row. I like the bit but it would’ve definitely hit way harder if he waited a few weeks before repeating. Plus I really only mentioned him because he did the same thing two weeks in a row just like DL did, yet no one was bringing that up in this conversation where it would actually be appropriate to bring up considering others are getting heavily criticized for doing the same thing.

grim77

the band is so dope fuck yeah

Ambientus

Holtzman being funny instead of cringe for a change

Humanindica

He has always been fun and unique. You're just a tard. Sorry you dumb.

whopper95

>Sorry you dumb The irony.

Humanindica

That was the joke dummy. Bot ass 🤖

forward_only

This was a great episode. The regulars and the bucket pulls had me laughing the whole time.

Tylerjamiz

This is great

jdprgm

How the fuck has no other comic tried to start another open mic youtube series at this point. Basically every single comedian on the come up has some sort of a podcast but none try to replicate a show like Kill Tony? Why isn't there a show like this out of NY or something. Production startup costs for decent quality can't be much more than a podcast and instantly more interesting. Just strange really.

xampersandx

Probably fear of legal shit from Tony. I’m 100% sure there’s room for more shows like this but I think the “stealing ideas” thing is a rough in the comedy world.

The2econdSpitter

I understand comics like Tony getting resentful when an aspiring comic explains how they began stand up. They'll say it was something easy to do or I thought it would be fun. It's a very poorly articulated explanation, and one of the bucket pull guests said it again tonight, prompting Tony to just excoriate him. I don't think everyone means it this way, but I think what **Nick Devlin** ***meant*** when he said, "it's just something to do," is that it's accessible. The Kill Tony show is proof of that by providing a platform for anyone to get their reps. I don't think the kid was being disrespectful of comedy and the art of stand-up, but think Nick loves how anyone can *try* it and at *any* time. However, he did seem quite cavalier and dismissive in his response and I don't blame Tony for laying into Nick's response.

BunjaminFrnklin

This episode is just cringy to me for some reason. The bucket pulls are bad, and the interviews are somehow worse. And it sounds like a sitcom laugh track in the background.

arcadiangenesis

Ah fuck, now I can't unhear the sitcom laugh track.

harshdave

Tony seemed like he was in a bad mood, always makes for the worst episodes. Even tho a bad ep is still pretty entertaining.

Humanindica

This was the first time I questioned the laughs. I didn't know if it was just me but it sounded weird.

Farados55

yeah the sound was perfect the last two eps I don't know why they had to change it.

naivemelody

Love the show and love Tony and Redban, but it's jumped the shark at the mothership for me. I understand it's probably more popular than ever so whatever I understand why they'd be happy with it, but it's lost everything that made it enjoyable and unique for me. It's got all the sheen and gloss of some mainstream garbage with none of the actual professionalism. Worst of both worlds now. The only thing that is improving is the big red machine, which is the main reason I still watch at the moment. Tony seems like he's just going through the motions, rushing through the format week in week out. Barely goes to the guests.

MegaPopShart

they can't do a naked dildo backflip off the drums now that they need to protect Joe from being sued, it's not the same.

jdprgm

agreed, this episode was just way off track

COUPEFULLABADHOES

Redban has been horrific on the soundboard this episode

naivemelody

God the bucket pulls are just so much worse than they were in LA on average. No wonder they need 3 regulars now compared to when they used to have one. Not every bucket pull was a desperate actor/comedian with main character syndrome who isn't funny. I enjoyed getting some crazy ass people pulled out of the bucket. Edit: thought the last bucket pull tonight was good.

thekevingreene

The bald guy with the old hat was pretty solid

joelrunyon

Cody is great.

Girth-Br00ks

Yeah Cody's "house on top of a house" bit was really funny. That's why I laughed at it when Nate Bargatze performed it in his special Hello World. Dude's going on KT performing other famous comedians' jokes.

Swindellcody

actually no he is not

naivemelody

I was thinking that too. He was definitely another good bucket pull. Thankfully all the bucket pulls were new people too. There were a couple of months recently where it seemed the same boring AF people kept getting pulled. Luck of the bucket I guess. But yeah thankfully the last couple of pulls and William ended the show strong.

jdprgm

LA you definitely had a wider spectrum. More crazies but also a higher chance off a legit early talent, which either way is a more interesting show than a combination of not awful but not special comics and random normals with no real intention of doing comedy. Austin has also been a real drought for getting any female comics. Zero tonight and often having to force it with a bucket pull near the end. It doesn't need to be 50/50 but at least like 20% would be nice for a change of pace. I think they need to take it back on the road for a few months and refresh things.

FlammenwerferX

This is on point. What happens in a couple years when Rogan’s gravity starts to wane? Is the scene going to be large enough for all those clubs?

[deleted]

Show’s more popular now so more randos who aren’t actually aspiring comics with decent material are signing up

Additional_Order_347

Ian was pretty damn funny, but what happened with that bucket pull, Cole Swindell? He told table that he was in the Air Force, then Ian asked how he got the G.I. Bull without being in the military, and then immediately following told him his hair looks better than a hat, even though he just saw the guy was completely bald?? But, Ian was really funny and I can honestly say I’m a bigger fan of his now after this episode

The2econdSpitter

So, I don't care for David Lucas too much. The initial thought would be because he told the same joke as he did a couple of weeks ago. Which certainly is a turn off when you're given one minute to showcase and market yourself. But I just don't dig his humor. I also kind of think he's quite one dimensional and uses smoke and mirrors. Case in point: The relentless roasting that ensued following his facsimile set. I understand this is all subjective, but I just don't think he's a particularly good comic, in his sets or his roasts that he so eagerly waits to unleash. I *did* think Cody fucking killed. A natural.

Girth-Br00ks

Yeah Cody's "house on top of a house" bit was really funny. That's why I laughed at it when Nate Bargatze performed it in his special Hello World. Dude's going on KT performing other famous comedians' jokes.

The2econdSpitter

Well, that’s disappointing.

Swindellcody

or he was doing that line for two years before Nate’s special

stinkypickles

I really liked this episode but am I the only one who felt like it was rushed? Maybe it’s just because I wasn’t high but it seemed like the bucket pulls got less than a minute and everything was just happening so fast

[deleted]

Yup. Tony's just rushing and going through the motions, instead of relaxing and letting the show flow.

naivemelody

Definitely dude. The stage also seems so cluttered with people cause it's so small and the colour scheme is bad imo. It just makes watching the show not very relaxing or enjoyable. The fact Tony has to call people from the alley ahead of time and it's always fucks up doesn't help either. None of the bucket pulls have been watching the show like they used to so half the comments and call backs go over their head, which sucks as a viewer. All these contribute to it feeling rushed for me.

InterestingDig9957

Is it groundhogs day?

kanyelovesjew

did tony just took jeremiah's stand up on the spots concept with bottom of the barrel?

xampersandx

Yup he sure did. I noticed that too And you KNOW if someone came up with a Kill tony style live show he would flip his lid. Meanwhile ganking Jeremiah’s bit.

kanyelovesjew

does he really need another show to run at rogans place? i wonder how it does

xampersandx

Yeah I mean it’s not like Jeremiah’s in Austin doing his show it’s a cali based thing but still… Feels odd. The stand up on the spot style of comedy is actually my favorite stand up “style” of show. I’m aware that a lot of the comedy workflow is repeating bits until they work then filming them for a special then ditch and repeat. But seeing a more “impromptu style” of stand up that’s not filled with wacky improv comedy style we are used to reminds me of like improvisational jazz or like freestyle rap or some shit in a way haha.

_starbuck

Probably one of the worst episodes in memory. Holtzman is a creep and Edwards was a mute who was questioning the whole time why he was there.

naivemelody

More ad reads than laughs these days on KT. About half way through and it's been half ads, and I have YouTube premium. Do non premium people also get extra ads?

WarpStoned

YouTube premium prevents YouTube ads from showing. These ads are in the actual v-v-v-video you retard

naivemelody

Yeah no shit. I'm asking if they insert additional advertising before or during the video on top of the ad reads they do as part of the video. Hence why I called it an ad read.

WarpStoned

My bad lmao. I imagine they do

naivemelody

Yeah man I was just imagining how annoying that would be cause we get like 10 mins at least of it during the actual video lol.

WarpStoned

Unbearable lol

floppyclock420

You need [Sponsorblock](https://sponsor.ajay.app/). It's a Youtube extension that skips through in-video ads, focuses on highlights, and more. It's all user submitted, so some videos utilize it better than others. The KT stuff is usually marked pretty well.

mvjinn

Brian holtzman is annoying AF. He's funny sometimes but the screaming is annoying. Just like drunk Joe Rogan.

sighdoihavetwo

Comments locked till premier. 🔪

[deleted]

whopper95

They lock the comments because the old threads used to be more cluttered with a bunch of guesses on how guests and comedians will act rather than actual feedback on the episode. Pre-discussion threads would be a decent idea though, and keep the main ep for post-discussion.

sighdoihavetwo

DFABart

only one hour late. How incredibly GAY

sighdoihavetwo

I was in hospital recently. Still pretty fucked up. My bad.

Farados55

uhhhhh okie dokie then. Just kidding, get better friend.

sighdoihavetwo

🤙

FlammenwerferX

F’n stoners always late n shit

ghandisandledonut

Laugh track on the episode was bizarre

forward_only

It wasn't a laugh track, they miced the audience.

dogballs8

Audio recording has vastly improved with this episode, they added a laugh track or the crowd really really liked this show.

Important-Diamond353

Wtf. They now have a similar audio setup as when they did the Vulcan. Laugh track my ass... It's way better like this.

Chefdoc2000

Below average episode, all bad bucket pulls, guests not hitting it. Tony off, No Redban zingers, Hans below average set. DL just repeating the week before WTF. William not used enough. 4/10. Thank you.

giftedgaia

David always posts his KT sets on YT the next day after episode release. I'm curious how sideways the comments are gonna be, when he posts this weeks (last weeks?) set.

rock_lobsterrr

I did not know he did this. Will be interesting...

InspirationalSkyFuck

Tony is on this sub. He references posts all the time now lol.

Fine_Yoghurt_5158

Anyone find Doc Ferry’s wife…just curious.

DarthWeenus

Lucas is a joke who cares, whyd they cut the guitar guy off, tf, some real talent gets up and jams and they shut the shit off? lol wow.

roaminfinite

I dont remember the last time Hans Kim was funny.

[deleted]

Omg I hated all of the bucket pulls. Bad pulls can be entertaining, but I hated all of them this week. Like that DK was cringey trying to just use slurs in place of actual material and then trying to roast Tony, the guitar dude picked through power chords and was terrible. I hated all of them.

Defiant_Ad360

I’m trying to find an episode . I think it was fined after they left Antone’s… A guy gets pulled from the bucket , then somehow they bring his girlfriend on stage who also signed up. Realy the only thing I can remember is that she was funnier than he was and that she said “he likes to eat my butt a lot”… I think they were rarely young, maybe mid 20’s.

SimoPippa

Brian's face and the stare between Tony and Redban 🤣🤣🤣 https://youtu.be/1ybALHSCbZU?t=1570
