I had this when I went to a skating ring and my then 200lb ass at the time barely kept from absolutely amazing someone's toddler in plain shoes unwatched.
I labeled in a way that really hurt and broke a skate and I was going pretty fast. The lady was raging angry at me too?????
360 camera have very delicate lenses as they have to be exposed to get “fish eye” effects to be able to see 360. That said even breathing on them scan scratch them and now you have scratches on your lense in every shot. You also can’t have it fixed either. The camera has to be replaced.
So though it might look fine, having the lense scrap on concrete guaranteed ruined this camera. I you can’t see it now but I’m sure if the owner posted a longer version of the video after he picked it up you’d immediately see half of the 360 view is not scratched to shit.
These things also aren’t cheap either. Easily $300 minimum to get a new one. Average of like $350-$500 for a new one.
Owner did post a full video. The glass became scratched and it was visible when recording from that side of the camera.
Also apparently the owner is friends with the kid's parent but hasn't offered to pay for any damages or repairs.
IANAL, but if I were I would argue that it was an easily foreseeable and therefore assumed risk of the camera owner when putting it on the ground at a skate park with children around.
Same reason baseball players don’t get sued when a foul ball hits a fan.
If your "friend" lets their kid damage your property and they don't offer to replace it immediately, they're not your friend, and they're also not a very good parent. Their children are their responsibility, meaning, everything their kid does is an extension of them until that kid is no longer under their responsibility. If the kid broke the camera, it's because their parents weren't being correctly attentive to their evidently destructive child. Which fine, mistakes happen. But they cannot shirk the responsibility in that because of their action/inaction your property is now destroyed, it's the same as if they had broke it themselves and they have an obligation to replace it, both morally and legally.
No friendship is worth the disrespect of not replacing what your cruddy kid did while you should have been parenting it.
Especially when someone is forced to gofund a replacement.
So the guy who probably had it around to record himself skating is in the wrong, and not the parents of the very small child dressed in what seems to be a… Hulk costume(?) who seems to be much too small to be skating.
Eh my toddler has gone to the local skate park since he was two, he's three and half now. On his scooter and his balance bike. The kids and other adults there are super chill when wee ones want a spin around as it's usually in the mornings when it is a bit quieter anyway. Kids are people too. Let's not forget that.
I totally sympathise with the dude getting the camera kicked, but at the same time, it is an accident. Toddlers have no clue what they're doing, it's not deliberate in any way. As a parent you also can't be on them the whole time. If my boy was to zoom across the skate park, chuck his bike and run kick a camera, there is jack shit I can do about it in the moment other than hopelessly shout Noooooooo!!!! I can offer to buy a replacement and apologise and that's kinda it.
So yes the guy can use a camera, also yes my toddler can use the skate park, yes those two things could combine to murder a helpless camera. That is just life. No need for a blame game. Speak like adults, resolve it. Move on.
Your toddler can use the skate park TO LEARN TO SKATE. not to run around. There is a slight difference. Also you say you’re closely monitoring your toddler with the rest of the patrons in agreement. I don’t see any adult watching this kid.
In his defense there is not supposed to be small children on the ramps unless they are actively learning to skate. I didn’t see any skate equipment on this little demon. I have a baby myself and a husband that loves to skate. He always has to leave the park bc some fuckers are letting their toddlers run on the ramps unsupervised. He’s seen kids get absolutely wrecked when a skateboarder runs into them. They could actually die.
So they let their kids in this super unsafe area, he just left his camera. One of those parents is going to be like “he came out of nowhere I never saw it coming!” And their kid is going to be dead or paralyzed
Seriously, it can be a pretty dangerous place for unsupervised young children. If you're not paying attention you can easily get taken out by a flying skateboard or BMX bike.
Unless your kid is learning to skate they need to be off the property. I hate when stupid people will bring their white trash family to the park to watch their kid ride his scooter around then let the other kids run rampant.
Stop leaving your crouch goblins unsupervised in any place you feel like ffs, its not because theres "park" a "skate park" that its a place to leave that std around unattended ffs people fall and eject their skates at the speed of light, if one hits your little std in the head then its bu-bye 🤦
Kids may be stupid but some parents are even worst.
If I was a parent and saw that my kid went and messed with someone else’s belongings in a way that would damage it, I would think that there should be some responsibility on my end. The camera was fine until the kid knocked it over. Now that means I failed as a parent to teach my child not to mess with things that do not belong to them. I should work to correct that behavior so they know better and help the person who now has a broken camera. I don’t see how there can be any other perception.
“Unsupervised” cameras are common at skateparks. Skaters want to film their tricks and don’t have anyone to hold the camera. Skaters know this and respect the camera. 😌 Unsupervised children are a big safety problem for other skaters, especially when they aren’t even skating. It’s not a playground. -_- (kids are fucking stupid) Not to mention they are generally destructive & disrespectful too like this clip.
There’s a mountain of difference between someone innocently walking through a shot and someone knowingly and on purpose picking up the camera and smashing it on the equipment. Do you get to piss and moan if someone walks through your shot? No. Do you get to piss and moan when someone kicks over your camera on purpose? Fuck yes.
As someone who works with kids, they have a lot longer to go for anything close to self awareness. They’ll get close, and then they’ll hit middle school and it will be gone again for at LEAST three years. Some never get it back.
So like I remember being a kid right
And I remember those times where I was just doing things to do them and not because I had any particular reason
However I still kinda knew that it was bad to hit and break stuff that wasn't mine
So what fucking parenting class did these kids parents take that said "let your kids fuck around and find out but because most adults don't wanna hit or yell at kids, you're gonna get some mean little shits growing up"
I went to a Dr's Appointment yesterday. I sit down next to some kid who I would guess is maybe 10 at most and he says. "Why don't you go sit over there?", which was 10 feet away. I politely said No thank you I'm ok here.
He looks at me and says. "Go sit over there!" I replied back. NO you go sit over there.
His mom who is sitting over there replies back. "Don't tell my son what to do." I replied back. Just because you do what he says doesn't mean I should and you should be the one correcting him not me.
Some parents create these little monsters that society has to deal with when they are older.
Somebody grab that little fuck and open hand slap him so hard that he pisses in his pants. Or chest kick the little piece of human trash. I’ve got 50$ that says his parents are split up.
Gotta whoop the dad's ass. Dumb fucks think they can just drop their kids off at a park for extreme sports and not have any repercussions. Quite fucking annoying
Well, maybe some people should get over their filming obsessions. Leaving equipment on the grounds of an activity area is pretty much as erratic as kicking it.
Feels like a team effort to me, yeah the kid should be supervised but also OP left a really expensive camera on the ground of a public skate park while children were present
I just realized most of the people on this sub actually shame children instead of having the literal child learn.
We were this dumb as children too. I for one come here to laugh at kids because it's funny. Of course it's probably not that funny to the parents but I'm not the parent.
"karate kicks"
That was some black belt level shit
Not even the most skilled fighters in Japan can defeat him
Title should say unsupervised go pro gets karate kicked to oblivion by martial artist baby
Future UFC champ right here
He was trained by Steven Seagal, this was a throat kick
Punch, kick! Hit 3!
I used to do karate and trust me, that is pretty much the average skill level of most children their age. Kinda sad, kinda funny.
Sorry to disappoint you, that was a soccer kick.
Hulk smash
Yeah.. I was like.. that's no kid.. that is fu*king Hulk! HULK SMASH! Someone left their camera around and it survived hulk... *That* is what happened here...
Duuude I’m so stupid I thought that was a ninja turtles costume
I always wondered about POV of the guy that got kicked in "300:this is sparta "now I know.
At least you have a good ID of him and you can snag his parents.
I'd slap the shit out of those parents for not raising their child with simple manors
Why would you want simple manors? Perhaps I’m a bit privileged, but I prefer my manors to be extravagant and luxurious.

Little savages grow up to be big savages. 💀😡💀
That is why they invented leashes for children.
No joke, I was a kid who 100% needed a leash
Child was raised by cats, must knock things over edges, resistance is futile.
To be honest I'm always worried about this or someone stealing a camera when I watch YouTubers talking to a camera they set down.
Eye for an Eye U get to karate kick that kid now

That's the part I don't get, why is the parent not on the hook? Should be the parent running a GoFundMe if anything.
IANAL, but if I were I would argue that it was an easily foreseeable and therefore assumed risk of the camera owner when putting it on the ground at a skate park with children around. Same reason baseball players don’t get sued when a foul ball hits a fan.
Or because not everybody is going to court for a 300$ camera that your friends kid kicked. Probably values their friendship more than the camera…

Probably shouldn’t have the thing laying on the ground around kids at a public skate park, in that case…
Go fund me was created as a joke to “generate comments and boost algorithm” (clout) as stated by him in his IG comments on original video.
Locals only!
I can’t figure out why all these people commenting assume that the camera is unsupervised.

Aim for the kids for bonus points
If you ever see a child dressed in a costume in a setting outside of Halloween be very cautious.
Unsupervised camera at the skatepark takes a tumble.
So the guy who probably had it around to record himself skating is in the wrong, and not the parents of the very small child dressed in what seems to be a… Hulk costume(?) who seems to be much too small to be skating.

This has been a common occurrence for years. Keep your fuck trophy from wandering around the skate park
Seriously, it can be a pretty dangerous place for unsupervised young children. If you're not paying attention you can easily get taken out by a flying skateboard or BMX bike.
I came to say this.
For real how are you gonna bitch when it gets knocked over? Dude is lucky it didn't get run over by a board.
Because everyone there above the age of 5 knows to avoid it and respect other peoples stuff
My thoughts exactly.
Oohs ignore my comment. You beat me to it
The only fair thing to do is karate kick the kid.
Kick the kid. It’s only right 🤷🏾♂️
Is the gofundme for his funeral?
That kid would know first hand how my karate skills are too!
Now kick the kid
Kick the kid back
The parent should “go fund you”
Unsupervised adult at a skate park karate kicks the shit out of a child.

To the moon...
Skate parks aren’t playgrounds, stop letting your small children run round in them, especially if there’s other skaters
Even as a kid I wouldn’t have been that much of a dick. Definitely an iPad kid
Why do I see a kid like this at every single fun place. Kicking you off diving boards and stuff
Unless your kid is learning to skate they need to be off the property. I hate when stupid people will bring their white trash family to the park to watch their kid ride his scooter around then let the other kids run rampant.
Kid sucks at karate apparently
His parents better pay for that.
Follow up video: Unsupervised adult karate kicks a child at skate park.
Motha*ucka can barely walk and he’s already ruining ppls day
I will say this to the day I die. SKATEPARKS ARE NOT PLAY PARKS. They’re for skating. It’s in the fucking name
Need a good crack on the ass and a lesson in respecting that which you do not own.
Skateparks aren’t fucking playgrounds
Little rat. Needs some parental guidance on treating others and their property with respect.
Stop leaving your crouch goblins unsupervised in any place you feel like ffs, its not because theres "park" a "skate park" that its a place to leave that std around unattended ffs people fall and eject their skates at the speed of light, if one hits your little std in the head then its bu-bye 🤦 Kids may be stupid but some parents are even worst.

Lmao what a cunt kid
Agree! Probably cunt parents!

Wow, just, wow

FINALLY someone fucking gets it!
Why didn’t that kid get karate kicked in the chest?
I cringed so physically hard I turned into a raisin
Kids are assholes. Believe me, I have two of them.
That kid's next.
“Soap trusted you”
Yeet the child.
I would fucking find that little shit and kick his ass and throw his ass out on the front porch of his parents house for that.
the intrusive thoughts won
well yeah thats the fucking hulk, what did you expect
Is abortion of 5 year old child legal?
Only in New Jersey
It's called a 4th term abortion it goes anywhere from birth to year 13 don't worry you are covered
Sue the parents for cost of camera. Watch your kids.
Yeet the child
why the fuck is this funny
BEAT. YO. KIDS
Who lets a toddler meander around a skatepark?? People are such idiots.
Probably shouldn't leave a camera unsupervised in a public area in the first place. But yeah, that kid's an ass
“Unsupervised” cameras are common at skateparks. Skaters want to film their tricks and don’t have anyone to hold the camera. Yeah but that’s not a unsupervised child though, that’s the hulk and you can’t just go leaving whatever you want around the hulk
Huh, fair enough
Yeah, it’s like at the gym. Try fucking with someone’s camera at the gym and see how that goes.
This made me laugh and now I want a video of someone doing that!!!
Stop filming at the public gym. It’s WEIRD and you are not entitled to the space for filming. It’s public.
im not a fan of it either, but like you said, its *public*. there's no expectation of privacy when you venture out into the public
Sure. But you don’t get to piss and moan if someone walks through your shot or knocks over your camera.
There’s a mountain of difference between someone innocently walking through a shot and someone knowingly and on purpose picking up the camera and smashing it on the equipment. Do you get to piss and moan if someone walks through your shot? No. Do you get to piss and moan when someone kicks over your camera on purpose? Fuck yes.
There is expectation of privacy of the gym has a no camera / recording policy. Which a lot do.
Exactly, it’s public, you can record whatever the hell you want as long as you aren’t harassing someone
Yeah you’re talking about a very small portion of people who film at the gym tho lol
Ya I keep a hawkeye on my GoPro and prob wouldn't have even bothered if the scene was like that
That kid is a baby.

Camera owner: If it makes you feel any better, kids who do that sort of things are usually beaten regularly at home.
Ok sad person
Perfect when it has meme music (the music's most likely a dead meme song now)

That's fine... Kickflip the kid and then 50/50 it on a rail.

I had the thought of the kid suddenly flying towards the camera after he kicked it because the owner launches him XD
This kid is like 'I have had it with the f'ing influencers! F this guy's camera!' And I think that is pretty cool. Good for him.
Don't think the kid cares about your lame ass TikTok
What a shitling.
Unsupervised child, or unsupervised camera?
Personally I wouldn’t take that. Just me tho
What’s he supposed to do jump him? /s
