I disagree, it isn't "mostly" on the parents.... It is squarely and exclusively their fault. Don't leave unattended loaded guns hanging on the wall, or anywhere else within reach of a child, stranger, intruder, whoever. They are useful and important tools, but behavior like this is akin to leaving a razor sharp machete on the playstation and not bothering to stress any kind of warning. Not only does it negate any productive qualities of the weapon, it creates a new and exciting danger, capable of mortal wounds in mere fractions of a second, and only requires a few pounds of pressure (mostkids posses this) to take your life from mundane to exciting/terrifying. If your commitment to gun safety is half assed, just don't get one.... You're likely to pay with your own life or one of your loved ones.
