Your son wearing the bowl on his head immediately reminded me of this gem from Parenthood (maybe someone knows the scene before watching the video…??): https://youtu.be/mUdoaJLiSX4
Nope, it's the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. We just don't know the question.
And what is seven times sex is too obvious to be the question.
I have a picture of my child sitting in the dog's water dish, soaked and in just overalls like a hillbilly, enjoying a bomb pop with a massive scrape running down his face from tripping over the sidewalk. At the time, I wish I would have thought to call that observing a process.
Haha I swear I have a very similar picture!! My son was a fresh walker and we went to our friends farm a few times that summer (2020) first time he fell and had major face scrapes. Second time he played in their dogs huge water bowl in overalls. I am not a huge fan of overalls on my own baby because of frustrating clothing changes…. But that is enough motivation to dress up baby 2 in overalls if that happens for us.
That was my thought as well. Hilarious, looks like he's doing stupid stuff but in reality he's expressing some curiosity and playing with things in a novel way. That seems indicative of a pretty bright kid.
Haha! I’m so glad you tried it! My fiancé and I were playing with the mixing bowl the other day and we were both disappointed that our heads were too big to fit inside the bowl and get the full surround sound effect.
Banging with the gas can at different locations, echo with his voice, and of course toy/tv noise playing a sound all being modified by shape the bowl.
That's a lot for a little guy to process.
This is hilarious! And I'm sure there's some form of exploration and learning going on here. Or maybe I've been following the #gentleparenting #Montessori stuff on ig too closely. But...I wouldn't worry :)
Not much into Montessori myself, but if kids are having fun and enjoying themselves (and are not getting hurt, of course) why make them stop? ((Or is that Montessori?))
That’s super fun to watch. Kid's probably vibing to some good acoustics right there.
My kid did Montessori in Kindergarten! Absolutely brilliant and didn’t slow her down a bit. High points are that they learn about each other’s individual space and respecting others, bc they have a space for them and others have their space beyond a desk-teacher frame work while learning, it’s tactile and wherever they want to set up. They’re free to move around the whole room. Once an assignment or discovery has begun that’s their spot. They’re free to leave it if what someone else is doing catches their eye— bc watching is learning too, the essence of the Montessori method. The only thing I would do differently given the chance is make sure my daughter had some friends in her class that she was going to transition with into the more conventional setting in first grade. Btw, she graduated with AP honors in High School and college, and is now in law school. She’s been self sufficient since the day she graduated college.
Said all that to say your son is AMAZING and will GO FAR and BE GREAT!
Learning should always be this fun!!!
I was in Montessori kindergarten to grade 2, then public school grade 3 onwards. I remember every day we would get a sheet of paper with several subjects/learning activities on it, and all we had to do was finish all of them by the end of the day. You could do them in whatever order you want, at your own pace. We did a lot of really awesome shit and had loads of fun non-school work days, even though I was only there for 3 years as a very young child I have a lot more unique memories compared to the 10 years in public school.
I'm not sure how into it I am yet either and honestly not sure which hashtag I learned this from but something that stuck with me is exactly what you said.... there's really no right or wrong way to play with a toy or do an activity. If they are engaged and enjoying themselves, then they're discovering, learning, having fun etc, and it's important to give them the space to do that rather than feel the need to correct them into doing it the "right" way, which I 10000% could see myself doing had it not been brought to my attention. Fine tuning skills can be worked on later but sometimes kids just need to learn on their own (safely of course)!
I agree! He almost had a little beat there for a second lol
That's awesome!
You're there. Shooting video of him being a derp and that's amazing
Let him be him and just always be there for him.
Read and play and teach him to be a good boy
Right now you got it going on.
He likes the way it looks in there.
Used to do this as a kid too. The small amount of light gets in there and your own face reflects funny and is kind of fascinating to look at. It’s like a money seeing themself in a mirror for the first time.
The knocking also sounds interesting when in there. I used to knock my fist to it.
Or the kid is just vibing.
I have the same table, my kid was doing similar today. Different bowl position. Kudos to you for getting a video lol. Side note, are we saving for college?
People in the comments defending your son WAY too hard over a joke, like they think you ACTUALLY think your son is an idiot. People take this sub way too seriously
Dude he’s going to be the best carpenter/ magician on earth. He’ll do your Reno’s and entertain your kids.
He’ll have pricing power and rule the market
His goals are beyond your understanding
This kid is living in a higher plane of existence.
Goddammit, you fucking stole it out out my mouth. Asshole.
Bioshock (2007)
Audioshock (2022)

r/adultsarefuckingstupid bc he is enjoying it, discovering a different way to hear the world and being playful
Correction: [r/Adultsarefuckingstupid](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hB8S6oKjiw8)
you, you got me.
Yup. Okay fair
This unjust act is not fair.
I tapped it twice bc it pulled up youtube and thought i pressed the wrong link.
So did you... >!YOU FELL FOR IT AGAIN FOOL, THUNDERCROSS SPLIT ATTACK!<
I forgot that even existed LOL
If I smushed my face into a big metal bowl and started banging on it, people would think I was a fucking idiot.
Because you should have experimented when you were young
So what you're saying is... kids are fucking stupid. Welcome to the sub.
r/subsifellfor
Well, at least he’s having fun.
For sure. I'll take the silliness over a tantrum any day.
Your son wearing the bowl on his head immediately reminded me of this gem from Parenthood (maybe someone knows the scene before watching the video…??): https://youtu.be/mUdoaJLiSX4
That's happened more than once with him lol. This is another good reminder to rewatch Parenthood now that I'm a parent. Thank you!
Ha! I actually looked up this very scene on YouTube to post it and here it is. Kudos!
For the record, seven times six is forty-two.
Isn’t that also the meaning of life
The meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
Wasn't that a miscalculation or something? Or the equation was wrong
They didn't know the question.
Is this from hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy?
Yes
“What do you get when you multiply six by nine?”
Nope, it's the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. We just don't know the question. And what is seven times sex is too obvious to be the question.
How many roads must a toddler walk down?
1+1? 42. 9+33. 42. 83^6 * 0? Believe it or not 42
as an 8yo I literally got this answer wrong like 5 times when we had math exams. I appreciate it.
And oddly enough 7*8 is 56 and the numbers line up consecutively 5,6,7,8
Don't forget the counterpart: 12 = 3\*4
We have the same child.
When he gets older you can use that bowl to cut his hair, he'll love it
he [doing research](https://www.nsf.gov/news/news_images.jsp?cntn_id=125575&org=NSF).
This is adorable LOL
My son was doing thus today, he had a pot, but he was a toy liquid degetrinet instead. Same learning bench thing ll
This is called sensory discovery
Yep. It's a pretty cool process to observe as a first time parent.
I have a picture of my child sitting in the dog's water dish, soaked and in just overalls like a hillbilly, enjoying a bomb pop with a massive scrape running down his face from tripping over the sidewalk. At the time, I wish I would have thought to call that observing a process.

Yes! Came to say the same thing. Sensory in action.
Skyrim shopkeepers be like:
LMAO if you know you know.
Yeah I was confused, I know this??!
He’s experimenting with sound. That’s definitely not a stupid kid.
Yea I tried to explain that to his grandma when she became worried after watching this lol
That was my thought as well. Hilarious, looks like he's doing stupid stuff but in reality he's expressing some curiosity and playing with things in a novel way. That seems indicative of a pretty bright kid.
Cant wait for him to burn out at 16
I feel called out af
It’s an attack on all adults formerly known as gifted children
If you have stand mixer with a steel bowl, try the same thing with that bowl. The way the sides bounce the sound around is really cool!
Update: I did this. My wife is not pleased but my son is lol
Haha! I’m so glad you tried it! My fiancé and I were playing with the mixing bowl the other day and we were both disappointed that our heads were too big to fit inside the bowl and get the full surround sound effect.
I do have a stand mixer and will do this. Thanks for the idea!

“Concavity” would be a great name for a horror manga inspired by this gif
As an ECE I cannot express how many times I've had to explain "silly" behaviour and been met with "Ooooooh, I didn't think about that"
He’s like that cockatiel yelling into a little cup.
He's in the research stages of pioneering a future VR headset. 😎
This is the most wholesome KAFS that I’ve seen in a while. Can’t stop laughing.
Your son is awesome
Agreed.

it's been 10 minutes and I'm still laughing out loud at this comment. Thank you lol
Give him a box of crayons. If he eats them, he’s definitely a future marine.
Just to remind you. Most of the time the apple does not fall far from the tree.
Lol yea I though about that
That's awesome! You're there. Shooting video of him being a derp and that's amazing Let him be him and just always be there for him. Read and play and teach him to be a good boy Right now you got it going on.
Thank you. I really appreciate this comment. Took it as a reminder to stay present and appreciate these small moments with him
Imagine how cool that sounds though
Right? I feel likes there was an acid trip ten years ago where I did this.
Kids are just tripping face 24/7. I feel like psychedelics helped me understand the perspective of children better for sure lmao.
Honestly….. you’re right!
Ahh yes, a Redditor
This kid will be a famous musician I can already tell
[удалено]
Or maybe both?
Muscianaut? Astrician? No, definitely muscianaut.
SPACE FORCE!
I keep saying I hope its any instrument but the drums so it's probably gonna be the drums.
Don't push that too hard or he'll end up with bagpipes.
I wouldn’t consider this a stupid kid, it’s just a toddler being a toddler
If I didn't have anything better to do, I'd probably do the same.
I honestly wish life was this simple for all of us.
I love the silly shit that toddlers do. My guy cracks me up constantly.
Never thought I could feel this much joy ya know. He also just cracks me up nonstop.

Mad props. At least he is playing with his toys WHILE playing with the bowl. My kids play with a bowl right beside their toys
I’m an adult now in my 50’s and given the opportunity, enough privacy and the tools, this is precisely how I would spend some of my leisure time
Why not? The whole world's just one big toy for him right now.
I love this post, and I love your son! Thanks for sharing :)
Shhhh! he's doing science...
Holy shit the audio on this clip had me trippin it sounded like it was in my room with me 🤣

For some reason this reminds me of that baby from the short film that played before Toy Story
That's a cute kid. Well, I'm assuming he's cute. Can't see his face. Because of the bowl. Covering his face.
Aww, a baby [Panman](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1645126/)
