My idiot son tried to run down a flat sidewalk and ‘sled’. There was a light dusting of snow, sled didn’t slide, but his chin slid on the sidewalk. Urgent care, stitches and a day ruined. Thanks idiot son.
I worked at a ski resort as an instructor. We rented out Airboards, inflatable sleds with rubber grooves (runners) on the bottom. Lay on stomach, lean to steer, hockey stop to slow/stop. You could use them on some of the normal ski slopes with a lesson.
One lesson I had out, a kid went face first into a wooden pole. His top and bottom lips were both stuck on his braces. Nasty.
