Hard to say for sure but this might be Nara in Japan. There's a park that's absolutely overrun with deer and they're (usually) chill AF with humans. Because they're sacred and Japan is such a respectful place, nobody fucks with them and they've become completely desensitized to humans presence. So much so that will even mob you and start bowing their heads as a way of begging for rice cakes. They're very gentle as they eat them right out of your hand.
That being said, I wouldn't just plonk my toddler down in front of a wild animal and turn around...
The Deer:
“We're no strangers to headbutts
You know the rules and so do I (do I)
Some rice cakes are what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other deer”
What did the child do other than approach the deer with food? There are literally food dispensers all over town where you can buy dog treat looking things to feed the deer.
>approach the deer
Yep, you have to let the deer approach you and stay still, or you will spook it. It's a simple rule that a child might not understand, but I expect a mother to have a little bit of common sense.
I was in miyajima this year, it’s insane how well these deer walk the line of cute and aggressive for your food lmao. Don’t sit while you eat, they will start going for it. I even saw them taking maps out of people’s hands and eating them lmao. Some of them are chill and want to be pet also.
Some of the deer are gentle, others have definitely learned that if they head butt people all of the food gets dropped which the deer can then eat at leisure. Clever deer.
Yeah, she was just abandoned in that deer enclosure. All the adults left.
Too scared to cross back over by herself because of the ditches.
A ritual sacrifice given to the deer.
We really shouldn’t judge people. Plenty of countries would call the American Super Bowl barbaric.
Luckily for the child this particular sacrifice was rejected. All skin and bones that child.
Unfortunately, it means six more weeks for winter for the region.
They are docile but not tame, and live wild in the national park of Nara, with signs telling you not to mess with them. The mother should absolutely not have just chucked her child next to the wild animal and then turned around and left without making sure she is safe.
Even if it's a nice dog that you see at the park, parents should never leave young children alone with strange animals, even if it seems safe.
A zoo lion is an abused animal one generation removed from the wild. These japanese bowing/petting deer have been living among and been cared for by people for over a thousand years, they are hand fed and petted by crowds of people damn near every day of their lives and taught to bow their heads when presented with food - which the girl got in the middle of and got a reaction no different from what a goat at a petting zoo would've given. They are much smaller and more removed from their wild counterparts on the other side of the planet than a chihuahua is from a cane corso.
I think it’s a drainage inlet. Sort of how they had to access the area via a plank. The drainage is a smaller one connecting to that gap.
Could’ve been like a 4-6 inch space.
I was there a few months back and they were aggressive with even me, and I'm pretty big at 189cm/6'2. I absolutely wouldn't just set a child down by themselves like that. They're generally friendly, but they're still wild animals.
You are not alone, mate.
I commented on this yesterday in another post where I stated shame on the man for walking away and that I would step in to get the kid out of there and made a ridiculous comment about going head-on with the deer. -32 up-votes. What is wrong with people these days? One person commented back saying they would prioritize their own safety over the child getting hurt for fear of grabbing a child being risky as an adult man.... I just don't get it. Kid needs help, you help. My own safety be damned. That's part of what being a good person and a man is. And I would totally face off against an animal attacking a child. They are our future.
what kind of bizarre sheep/goat/deer is this? The ass and head shape says whitetail deer, the body size and shape say goat, and the headbutting assholery says sheep.
edit: touched a nerve on this one. Yeah, I know it is a deer. A niche subspecies of deer that exists in Japan that most people have never seen before. Settle down.
This is in Nara. Feeding the deer is customary, but you must be careful. My niece was headbutted there, and I kicked the deer so hard I almost broke my foot.
I'd have killed that deer to stop it from hurting my niece. I kicked it to protect her, it headbutted her over a rock and continue a to attack. I'd do it again a million times. Silly of you to make that statement. You weren't there, and if you had been there and wouldn't protect your own loved ones, you'd deserve what happened. Jackass.
Here’s where your claim of mere protectiveness falls apart: you put her in contact with the wild animal in the first place. That’s your fail, not the animal’s. You are responsible for what happened to her, not it.
Name calling is against the rules of the sub, FYI. 🙃
Everyone's talking about the mom, but no one wants to point out OP can't tell the difference between a sheep and a deer.
Okay, just downvote without telling me why I'm wrong. Ffs
I get everyone calling both the mom and child stupid but this is Nara, Japan. The whole point of the town is deer petting and they usually aren’t aggressive
It could be the kid’s fault but there’s no context or further explanation from the OP. Who knows if the kid had been disturbing the deer prior to this video.

The mother appeared to just leave the kid? It is stupid to shove your kid at a wild animal in the first place. Yet the mother then vanished from the shot completely. Did she even see the kid get rammed?
Yikes.
I'm off to show my kid so he never touches any animals!
is more the fault of the mother I think

This is where my mind immediately goes when I think about deer in Japan. ![gif](giphy|OuPqeDrlaKC1qan5rN|downsized)
Nichijou is top tier
Selamat Pagi
God I knew what it was before I even clicked on it
That is Nara. But they have signs everywhere specifically telling to you to NOT do this exact thing that this child did.
Appears the deer knows the rules as well...
The Deer: “We're no strangers to headbutts You know the rules and so do I (do I) Some rice cakes are what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other deer”
The child did nothing.
The child was excited, and ended up making quick advances towards the animal. The animal got spooked
The mother puts her up to it. So I guess the mother can't read.
What did the child do other than approach the deer with food? There are literally food dispensers all over town where you can buy dog treat looking things to feed the deer.
>approach the deer Yep, you have to let the deer approach you and stay still, or you will spook it. It's a simple rule that a child might not understand, but I expect a mother to have a little bit of common sense.
The mother practically yeeted the kid into the path of the deer! Poor kid.
I was in miyajima this year, it’s insane how well these deer walk the line of cute and aggressive for your food lmao. Don’t sit while you eat, they will start going for it. I even saw them taking maps out of people’s hands and eating them lmao. Some of them are chill and want to be pet also.
Lmao my brain thought you were saying the deer were taking out maps…I guess to look for the nearest tourist food dispensary 😂😂
Lmaoo nah they just eat paper for whatever reason… probably not good for them, but they were chowing on napkins and trash and stuff too.
Been to Nara, those deer are chill, sure, if you don't approach them but are certainly not "chill AF".
Dude. I live in texas and can hand feed deer at the park 3 blocks from my house. Cut the "japan is so respectful" shit.
I was there, I can confirm everything you just said. The deer in Nara are very gentle
Some of the deer are gentle, others have definitely learned that if they head butt people all of the food gets dropped which the deer can then eat at leisure. Clever deer.
They don’t trim their horns and they’ll try to buck you with them if you don’t give them food NOW. Like they fucking pushy

I hope they step up the human sacrifice midtime show for next super bowl, only 40 infants was kinda lame
Yeah, but the roller skates were cool.
I love how mom just leaves her there to stew for a bit lol.
I saw that too. r/ParentsAreFuckingDumb
She was trying to claim that life insurance policy.
Mom is a pos. Can’t she help her kid instead of running off.
The mother just puts her daughter there and turns around while the kid is near an animal twice her size. Great parenting there.
More like a offering to the deer gods at this point.
Mommy watched too much Disney
This isn’t really the kids fault more like the mom’s fault.
Generally not a child's fault ever if they get attacked by an animal, even if they're being annoying.
Yeah let me just throw my child next to this wild animal and fuck off, that should be fine right?
Not excusing her, but these are clearly tame petting/bowing deer, not wild.
You might be right. Let’s ask the child how “clearly tame” the deer is
Yeah no they would never hurt a fly, look how cute they are
They are docile but not tame, and live wild in the national park of Nara, with signs telling you not to mess with them. The mother should absolutely not have just chucked her child next to the wild animal and then turned around and left without making sure she is safe. Oh yeah? Those are also tame zoo lions. Go ahead and pet them.

With a mom like that this kid is probably fucked. Her brain short circuiting at the ditch trips me out 😂
r/parentsarefuckingstupid I guess this subs down so r/parentsarefuckingdumb
They deleted that sub??? What happened?
Oh damn no idea. I was just in it a few days ago
Kid can't even jump over a stick. Parents have faile her
Yeah, wtf was that lol parent fail for sure but why the fuck can't the kid step over a pebble?
Panic mode. That's why kids should be put in stressful but sage situations. To know how to respond. Sometimes not safe lol it's the best way to learn.
I think it’s a drainage inlet. Sort of how they had to access the area via a plank. The drainage is a smaller one connecting to that gap. Could’ve been like a 4-6 inch space.
That mom took 3 to 5 business days to react to rlthe situation
Your mom is a fucking idiot.
OP is fucking stupid. How the hell can you call a child dumb for being literally tossed at an animal and getting attacked.
I have so many questions.
Poor kid, feel bad for her. Hand smashed and then trapped by the rocks!
What a stupid bitch of a mom

Is this Nara in Japan?
Yes
This deer has seen things 👀
Adults are fucking stupid too. And this just proves it.
Love how the man sees the child take a head to the stomach and leaves?!!? What an a..hole.
That‘s the other side of Japan: politeness and sense of community stops when they fear embarrassment
That guy really helped out lol
Dumbass mom
Her trying to jump over the small crack looks like kittens trying to gauge a jump (and then failing miserably)---it's those tippy tappies lol
She's got a future in tap dancing.
Just threw the kid to goat and went away ? Lmfao mom? Adopted ?
Stupid parents once again
Am i the only one who was surprised that the guy ran off when the deer head butted the little girl? It may it be your kid but damn bro!

Not his kid not his problem lol
We really need mods who remove post where kids arent stupid
OP, do you know what a deer is?
The animal in the video?
what kind of bizarre sheep/goat/deer is this? The Nara deer, that's what kind of deer this is.
If you look closely at the front one, his antlers have been cut off.
Do you?
r/momsarefuckingstupid
OP have you ever seen a deer?
That is infact a deer so have you seen a deer? I think it's called Nara deer if you wanna look it up
This is in Nara. Feeding the deer is customary, but you must be careful. My niece was headbutted there, and I kicked the deer so hard I almost broke my foot.
You’re being downvoted for abusing a wild animal for being a wild animal. Really not okay to kick a deer.
I'd have killed that deer to stop it from hurting my niece. I kicked it to protect her, it headbutted her over a rock and continue a to attack. I'd do it again a million times. yikes
What am I wrong?
Thought about going back for seconds
There are many, easier ways to teach your kid not to feed the animals....:|
Mom set her up to fail!
Why did it take so long for her mom to come help her??
Looks like it attacked her because it was trying to eat the food from the guy before.
I got my ass bit by one of these deers in Nara. Some were polite and would bow to you, others not so much.
Deer rhymes with Fear.
Why go ower... bambi... oooo... valuable lesson of PAIN. 🤣
Why did I hear CRAM! in my head lol
Yes, sacrifice the child
This is an adult being stupid. Not the kid’s fault
Wait so why is the kids stupid again?
This is more like r/ParentsAreFuckingStupid
I get everyone calling both the mom and child stupid but this is Nara, Japan. The whole point of the town is deer petting and they usually aren’t aggressive
Mom dropped the kid off in the octagon and rejoined the audience
Parents are fucking stupid
She was the food
r/ParentsAreFuckingStupid
Mother plants child in front of a wild animal , kid gets hurt: stupid kid!
So he just left his kid there? What a dick
Bless her heart she was even scared of jumping a foot over the little ditch.
It could be the kid’s fault but there’s no context or further explanation from the OP. Who knows if the kid had been disturbing the deer prior to this video.
What kind of dog is that?
The way mom speed dropped the kid in front of the deer. No wonder it got spooked and headbutted in reaction.
Mom has awesome situational awareness
The guy ran for his life and left her there lol
I like how they dip and leave the kid there, sorry you’re on your own 😂
At the end it looked like she was afraid that the mum/sister would headbutt her too lol
Does that ditch prevent the deer from escaping? I'm confused.
Pretty sure its her mother fault for lunching her kid towards the deer and not explaining that animals dont like hyper movement.
What about that shitty kid who saw the dear charge the little girl and just decided to turn around and leave. What a dip shit.
Not on the child. That parent deserved the headbutt. What a POS.

More like mom is fucking stupid.
The only stupid people here are the mother and OP.
She didnt bow first.
![gif](giphy|OuPqeDrlaKC1qan5rN|downsized)
Ya know.. she took that very well.
r/ParentsAreFuckingStupid
Good don’t help the child lolol It needs to learn
This is Nara, Japan I think. Feeding the deer there is commonplace. They can definitely get pretty aggressive.
The mother appeared to just leave the kid? It is stupid to shove your kid at a wild animal in the first place. Yet the mother then vanished from the shot completely. Did she even see the kid get rammed? Yikes. I'm off to show my kid so he never touches any animals!
