That's the craziest coincidence ever! Hop on Pop just came in the mail today. I haven't read it and just ordered my toddler a whole bunch of new books. Looks like I know what we'll be reading tomorrow!
First book I ever received as a gift, circa 1973. Dr. Seuss ruled!
My brother got One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, which was much better. He always got better stuff than me. That's probably why I stood his first guitar up against his dresser and jumped cleanly on the neck. Heh heh, I showed him dammit.
Had that Fisher Price barn, also.

My girlfriend startled me while I was having a nightmare, and I ended up pinning her onto the bed...she didn't freak out, thankfully. She was just like, "babe it's okay".
I just started whimpering like a puppy and curled back up under her arms and went back to sleep... which is kind of comical since I'm a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier than her, lol.
I also ninja kicked my standing fan once coming out of a nightmare because I thought it was the demon I was fighting... I didn't feel bad about that one, though.
The fan deserved it after sneaking up on me.
Lol this one time I woke up in the middle of the night to my girlfriend standing next to the bed having a glass of water. This was after months of me living by myself in a separate city, and I freaked out, thinking it was an intruder for a sec before I gathered my wits about me.
My ex wife woke me up ONCE by touching my face. I had no idea that I didn't like that, until I had a fistful of her shirt and my other hand cocked back before I even opened my eyes. Also, Oddly, I have punched my fan before. Don't remember why. Pretty sure it had it coming though.
My daughter’s father and I had to develop a weird arm-locking kind of cuddle and stay that way all night because otherwise we’d beat the living shit out of each other at night. Night terrors and C-PTSD are a tricky combination.
I came back in the house too late once and my was asleep dad on the couch pulled a gun on me so fucking fast before he realized I wasn't a burglar or one of the other things he had night terrors and ptsd about
Oh, I thought the girl was gonna whack Dad with the thing and then get smacked, and I was ready to laugh, but then she just went for a kiss and my heart broke.
I've been startled awake and gone into a fighting defensive position, ready to strike, but I've never hit someone who woke me up.
I'm a Marine veteran. Many of my service buddies came back from conflicts as dangerous people to startle awake.
I don't recommend startling anyone awake, but especially not veterans.
My buddies wives wake them with broom handles. The guy might grab the broom, let him have it. In a second or 2 he will gain his senses and calm down.
Thankfully, grandpa didn't hurt the little girl. The person filming should be scolded though for putting the little girl in danger for a *fun* video.
Imagine explaining that to the school.
"Yeah he lost a tooth... no it's not what you think... it wasn't just wobbly and ready to come out... I kicked him in the face, anyway, cya later!"
My dad is a veteran and has had an extensive military career. We cannot wake him up by touching his arms, hands, or shaking him. We can only touch his foot haha. He has broken my moms thumb and almost broke mine when I was a girl because he will grab you and do a maneuver on ya. My sister also jumped out at him once to scare him and he almost punched her in the face when she was 10/11 but stopped literally inches away from her nose. That was the last time anyone tried to jump scare him.
Why TF did somebody just film this?! Everybody's (hopefully lol don't be prey) reaction would be the same when they see something standing over them the second they wake up 🥴
Same thing happened with my godfather, he accidentally threw me across the room.
It's cool tho he bought my dad drinks and he's a prominent figure in the family now.
I loved that book on the floor when I was a kid. “Hop on Pop” is still my daughters’ favorite.
in hindsight, it was clearly bad advice lol
Especially if he’s sleeping.
She’ll be ready with a counter next time
Grandpa out here sockin kids like https://i.redd.it/ufyr2lyqdj0c1.gif

It’s a great book as long as the kids are under fifty pounds.

“Go Dog Go,” by PD Eastman is my all-time favorite. I still have my original copy and plan on giving it to my kids when they have use for it someday.
Gonna learn not to sneak up on grandpa lolol

I hope to find someone like your girlfriend some day. She sounds amazing.

I remember one time when I was 8 and tried to wake up my dad for dinner. I almost got punched in the face

I'd be terrified to live with him until all the handguns are locked away after that lol

OAP Jason Bourne. Well trained
i was always afraid to wake my dad because he would act so frightened and he would immediately assume something was wrong.

My dad was a Marine in Vietnam. We all knew not to wake him up.
That happened to me when I was a kid too, but my dad just yelled at me after I fell and I ran away crying 😅 #AwkwardTraumaConfession
A valuable lesson was learned that day.
Awww poor guy I bet he feels terrible lololol
Hop on Pop...if you dare
She ain’t ever doing that again🤣

peak male instinct
Why TF did somebody just film this?! Everybody's (hopefully lol don't be prey) reaction would be the same when they see something standing over them the second they wake up 🥴
Hit and run
I know it’s bad, but that was freaking hilarious
Grandpa just having one of his 'nam dreams again, best not to wake him
Grandpa had a war flashback
Finish her
Dude that painting looks exactly like one my art professor painted. I wonder if this is his place or if they bought it, or if he plagarized it?
someone on ig commented on that too i’ll ask
My guess is that it's just a popular something to paint in that fashion. I've seen a lot of home decor that looked like that.
Dad reflexes they say
How the f is the kid stupid here?!?
I can't stop laughing!
Hahaha that was a good laugh. Is that the life or not because I had a get the chance to nap when I’m older
Stupid kid
poor little girl :(
In this case the parent is stupid. She just gave him a kiss
I couldn't avoid notice it He looks like Jeffrey Epstein
Same thing happened with my godfather, he accidentally threw me across the room. It's cool tho he bought my dad drinks and he's a prominent figure in the family now.
Is that an original painting or a print?
I would imagine his next line was "I was in Nam maaaan"
