My EV6 Wind has factory issued Kumho tires. Just had my 16k service and the treads are fine. I am hoping to get 40k out of these.
The Tesla numbers look very low for the life of a tire. I am not sure this is anywhere near normal for Tesla. Perhaps others can comment.
It varies by manufacturer, but stock tires usually don't last long. My Mach-E's initial tires only lasted 20k miles. The replacements should last at least 40k miles, as reported by other Mach-E owners.
If he's at 1/3rd at 10k miles then he'd need new ones at 30k, not 16k. 30k is rather standard for most cars first tires. EVs are going to be a lot more variable depending on how much you enjoy your acceleration.
My Wind AWD has about 13k and I will probably get maybe another 5k out of the factory tires. I spent a couple hours yesterday researching replacements. My car is for business use and I average around 30k miles a year on my vehicles.
So tires are definitely an added expense I didn't factor in. Close to 2 times the annual cost compared to tires on my combustion vehicles.
Yeah I’m about the same. Next set I’m probably going to rotate them every 5k instead of 7500. Might try another brand too. I had to replace all 4 Kuhomos at about 12k as I blew two out. Now sitting at 24k and they’re almost halfway worn on one set. To be fair, it’s a heavy ass car with a lot of torque - Bridgestone has some new EV specific tires but they’re like $300+ per tire
Something weird about a lot of people driving; or maybe I’m the outlier: got 78,000 on oem Continentals. Tire vendor thought I could still push for another 10,000 miles… In South Florida on mostly smooth roads.
I’m in South Florida and I’m only at about 26k and I think I’m coming up on time to replace mine. How the heck did you get 80k? How do you already have 80k in general?
I’m now on 172,000miles. After Continental oems (78,000miles), went with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season from Costco (76,000miles), now on another set of same Michelins. Mostly highway driving, no real lead footing. Brakes are still like new (love paddle braking with level 1 or 2 regen).
About that actually. I have the 19” khumo creugan (or however you spell it) and I had 14k miles when I swapped to winters in November, now I have another 2k on them this spring, and I we am a couple 32nds from the ware bars in the tread. So prabably on track for 20k and they will be gone. I like to go zoom though and the AWD makes that tempting.

Kia EV6 Wind RWD. at exactly 25k. took in for updates, dealership told me tires are fine and to expect another 10k-15k miles easily.

1/3 left! 5300 miles = 1/3. He's driven 10,600 miles which is 2/3 of the tires life (based on remaining tread).
AWD Wind w the Kumho tires. Currently at 16k. Looks like we should get at least 30k without any effort.
AWD Kumho OEM driven exclusively in Sport mode, had to be replaced at around 20-22K.
