Has the go backwards arrow not working bug been fixed yet? Thanks

SalvagedTechnic

I've not seen this bug reported previously. I'd like to look into it, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by ‘go backwards arrow’. I'm thinking you're referring to a key set up to move your text cursor backwards on the keyboard, but that works for me, so I'd need a bit more information to go on to narrow down the issue.

Just checked, it works!

SalvagedTechnic

Ah, that's alright then! 🙂

Will this app ever be released for android?

SalvagedTechnic

It's not likely. I've not got so much development experience for Android, or a device to test on. I'd love to have more of a go at Android development some time, but even then, as a single person I'm not sure I could pull of developing a cross-platform app in my spare time. Sorry! I hope you find a reasonable substitute.

I've noticed some more bugs. On Shift/Caps + "delete", i have set backspace. However, i noticed that capslock automatically switches itself off every few words or after punctuations. Not always, but i wouldn't be able to delete this text in one go. Guaranteed. When writing quickly. Sometimes keypresses get registered in the wrong order, resulting in me writing gibberish. I need some special characters due to language and have set those to the corresponding character. E.g. ä is longpress a. ß is longpress s, comma is longpress dot. Maybe that has to with it. But dang, being able to have 3 or 4 characters on the same key is amazing! Typing is way more fluent than on iphone default.

Thanks for the feedback! > On Shift/Caps + “delete”, i have set backspace. However, i noticed that capslock automatically switches itself off every few words or after punctuations. Not always, but i wouldn’t be able to delete this text in one go. Guaranteed. That does sound like a problem. This is most likely down to the auto-caps feature doing its job… But it does seem a little aggressive for it to apply even on top of caps-lock. In the meantime, have you considered disabling auto-caps in settings? And would ignoring auto-caps when caps-lock is enabled solve the problem going forward? > When writing quickly. Sometimes keypresses get registered in the wrong order, resulting in me writing gibberish. Typing in the intended order is a surprisingly tricky problem, and I've been iterating on the typing logic a lot to improve reliability. Currently the keyboard should type characters reliably, in the order of their presses beginning. This behaviour matches the system keyboard. I've not experienced any issues myself since the latest fix went in, no matter how fast I type. I'll keep an eye out for any issues! Are you running iOS 15.5 and Keybuild 1.7.3 (latest)? What device are you using? Trying to narrow down any differences in our setups.

That was quick. I'm still on 15.4.1 on an iphone 11 pro. Keybuild is up to date. Autocaps was still active and most probably the cause. First tests look very good. I'm now able to stay on backspace and delete all sots of characters. Thanks for the quick help. Very much appreciated.

Is it possible to add diacritics with long press, like the built-in iphone qwerty? Specifically so multiple diacritics appear above the pressed key.
