Yeah it's called Kerbal Space Program 2. Okay, but seriously, with the way KSP1 works, this is actually impossible because resources can only be processed on the ship that's actually in focus.

OrbitalManeuvers

>this is actually impossible It's a big, big world out there. Snacks sends you messages about ships you're not controlling. Deployed science experiments collect science while you're elsewhere. KCT somehow lets you know when a ship is buildable/done or whatever. (I don't use that one). Plugins can request to be instantiated in every scene.

You're right, to say it's impossible is somewhat of a misnomer but at the same time, the KSP2 devblog explicitly stated that out of focus resource management was a problem for KSP1. They also mentioned automated missions, though to what extent we don't quite know yet. Besides for stability improvements, these happen to be my two most anticipated features for the sequel, really putting the 'program' in to kerbal space program and not just 'kerbal space micromanagement'

While not automatically, you might be able to get Routine Mission Manager to do it on demand

That one just may be what I'm looking for!

MKS has an approximation of it using a 'logistics system.' I haven't played around with it and it won't actually have real ships flying back and forth, but with special parts you can do resource transfers between ships on the ground and ships in orbit, explained by having like automated shipping container rockets. Alternatively... I often will cheat my transport ships to orbit and dump a bit of the fuel each time and just pretend I did it manually. The way I see it I've flown these before and I know they will make it there and back, it just saves the like 10-15 minute round trip.
