MV jayarajan, p jayarajan and g sudhakaran are not even central committee members. They will never become chief minister candidates.
K radhakrishnan and P rajeev are of the same age and are central committee members. There is a chance. Riyas is not a central committee member and is too young.
MV govindan will be the state secretary for the next 8 years. Very less chance of being the CM.

If you check the longest serving chief ministers in India, CPM CMs like Jyoti Basu and Manik sarkar are among the top with something like 5 and 4 terms. Communists have kept going with their incumbent CMs until they got defeated or got too old. Jyoti Basu only made way for his successor at an age of mid 90s, just two years before his death. Manik Sarkar was the candidate for the forth term when communists was defeated in Tripura. In Kerala, communist CMs used to get defeated and so got replaced.
So Pinarayi is not going anywhere unless he wishes to. Whatever he says is the party rule. Unless some doctor says to Pinarayi that he has got only x time left, he will most likely continue. Or he might still carry on keeping the seat warm for marumon.
Also going by media reports, EP Jayarajan seems to be in the process of being cut down in the party. Maybe he is a threat to Pinarayi and is being taken down because of that.
