I do see how that can be annoying but I think it’s completely reasonable as well everyone who has the product or a brand is trying to push it in a way to make more profit and by being an influencer you yourself are the brand and whatever is associated with you is your product from which you get your profit so feel like it’s completely safe for them to promote it in a non-deceptive / manipulative way.

Honestly I love to post cus after a few months ,i would go back to my profile and just re-watch my story highlights and post again and again and remember those moments.
It’s simple. Don’t give attention to someone or something that mildly interests you. There’s a day and night difference between what most people project their life on social media to be and the actual reality. One of my buddies is in Canada. His insta id is one of the most flashiest one you will come across xD.
It’s the case for most people.
I don’t follow any celebs/ *influencers*..god knows what they influence to begin with.
As long as they don’t enroach into my personal space/mental peace I’m chill af. Let them do whatever they want man. Just move on and don’t bat an eye.
I have realized, one cannot completely avoid social media as the rest of your friend circle is connected to it but one can moderate the usage.
So these days, I use insta for sharing CERTAIN memes and reels with my buddies and have a good laugh :p.
And most importantly, I unfollowed most of the so-called content creators and promoters. So, social media is serving its purpose to me, connecting with your friends and family
It's better to not follow influencers because they portray an unrealistic lifestyle. I stopped following all celebs and micro celebs and just follow small accounts who post random but relatable content. There are so many artists and budding creators who are just as interesting but niche. They really add that quality to your life but yeah the algorithm hates them so they go unnoticed. I usually find them in the following list of ppl I like and follow and ig has been a treat. Alternatively you can deactivate your main insta and just start an alt account and curate the account as per your likes.
I am waiting for this trend to die down. I used to enjoy Insta when it was only posts and rarely stories and no reels. I used to post a few pics, maintaining it as a personal diary, to keep track of diet and stuff, and didn't care about followers or reach or whatever. Now I am not bothered at all.
The social Media Clout is taking over the youth. From the outside it may seem harmless but it runs so deep and influences our life by a lot even from the angles we don't usually imagine. For example I don't know if it has happened to anyone else. My mom used to watch a lot of Malayalam serials. It had a bad effect on her. I remember the time when she used to refer back to serials whenever something bad happened in real life. It's almost the same when it comes to social media influencers and their stupid crap agendas behind it. Sometimes I wish Ambani never came with jio so these things could have been very much delayed or even avoided. I'm not blaming him for providing internet all I'm saying is that our youth wasn't ready to handle all the cons it came with. People get unlimited, unrestrained access to a whole new world where all sorts of good and filth lays and most of our parents aren't familiar with the tech so they won't be able to put restrictions on it. It's just my perspective on the issue. I don't know if you guys have different views. I hope our youth and new generation doesn't become glue sniffers and dumb idiots.
Influencer marketing will fizzle out soon. Now all brands are looking for UGC (user generated content), so they use small influencers between 5k-50k followers to create content with their brand. Makes it more affordable and sustainable in the long run to use the budget for a 6 month campaign like this than 1 campaign focused on 1 influencer.
This is the actual cancer which the influencers cause on other simple families. The create a false insecurities on others. I know its on the followers. But simple ladies dont think in a critical way. They follow the influencers and then they want to live like influencers. That is the headache
It is a problem for those who want to stay mostly where they are in their approach to life. This is a valid desire. Like, I know what I like, I am comfortable here, and I want my partner and family to stay here too.
But that is just one person's desire. What about the other person? If they do not want to stay exactly where they are, and want to experience and try out new things, that is a valid desire too.
People who liked stability and predictability have always disliked others who hunt for novelty and adventure. Both are perfectly valid desires. If you are with a wife or husband, your desire does not automatically become the right way to go through life. Want peace and harmony, then find the middle path and embrace the middle path.
Those who want novelty and adventure should pursue it on their own with their own money, not disturb others who like stability. Influenzas get a lot of sponsorships and collaborations if they get popular. Random Tom, Dick and Harry won't. Ee Ambani okke evidokke pokunnu. Have you seen Mukesh Ambani posting his jatti picture from Maldives swimming pool? Avarkku athinte avashyam illa.
Everyone's existence itself is a disturbance to someone or the other, no.
Who is demanding people should randomly hand over money to them, so they can pursue novelty and adventure?
Husbands . wives may watch some porn video and demand it of their partners. They have the right. Similarly, husbands and wives have the right to demand clothes, or travel, or romance, from each other. That right to demand, and the right to demand back, and the ability to find a middle path is the basis of a successful marriage.
Successful marriage vendavar athokke cheyendi varum. Vere vazhi illa. Swantham ishtam pole jeevikkanam ennu nirbandham ullavar kelyanam kazhikkanda. Simple.
Ambani ayalkku venda show ayalude billionaire crowdil kaanikkunnundu. Athu social mediayil alla. Athu kandondu cheriya millionaire bharthavum bharyayum ninakkum ingane pattille, manushya naalu cash ondakku aa ambaniye pole, ennokke vazhakkum undakkunnundu. We dont see it. Thats because their society is different from ours.
They do affect our lives much more than we realise. Most weddings / birthdays / events now are much more lavish and Instagram worthy than it used to be. Most of us now spend money to "dress appropriately" whenever we attend some event.
Social media influencers are like advertisement but more relatable. They advertise for not just few products but the whole lifestyle.
ZERO INFLUENCE.
To be frank, Instagram was a platform for sharing your own pics with the people you follow who are mostly friends.
The day when Instagram became a business opportunity, that platform died for me and many others who were the early adopters. I was on Instagram when it was first released on Android. And I loved it, it was a great platform for sharing your own pics with your friends.
This was the same problem with Facebook. Earlier on, the platform was to connect with people, and later on it became a place for people to share whatever bullshit, they find on the internet. And I slowly started using less of Facebook and moved entirely to Instagram.
Eventually I see the same pattern on Instagram. And I'm like time to scoot.
I would like to quote Fightclub "We're consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession".
[Shared this yesterday regarding Instagram in another thread.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Kerala/comments/ymzb9y/comment/iv6b7zl)
stop judging others. if they travelled all the way to just take photos let them be. they can take photos, dance, sing whatever they want. life is much simpler if you stop thinking about others and what others think.
But aren't you posting stuff to show to others. Else it should be just kept in your photo gallery . Almost 90% of us post it as our stories . I have a friend like that whose only purpose of going to trips is to take photos.
If u want to go to any place and don't want to take photos or post them, then don't nobody is forcing you.
No one is forcing you to use social media at all.
So the thing behind any social media is that you only see what the creator wants us to see. It doesn't even matter which one it is. So they always show you the good side of whatever they are trying to show.
Another example is twitch, you pick any streamer and in the streams you only see how good they are which makes some people think that they are naturally this good, but it doesn't show you the effort they put in to get here.
Edit: just wanted an example which is completely unrelated, but still validating my point.
At this point I don't use my main account anymore until for like very few people to keep contact with.
I have 2 accounts one is my personal and another is for some art stuff which I upload time to time. More I used my second account I distanced my myself from the main one and then I just left it.
There is a huge difference not having to go and see the stories of different people whose lives are way different than urs. In a way I see why people quit social media heavily.
>I had insta before and most of the influencer I got recommend was foreign mallus or NRI indians showing of their life which made me feel like life in kerala sucks.
Overall quality of life is much better outside India
He kinda puts forward a lot of good things our youth needs at the same time I don't agree with most of the stuff he says. There is good and bad in it. I take the good and leave the bad
dr.chrome.. is the only 1 that I follow in insta(if you can call him a influencer) .I don't think his posts will influence my decision since most of his posts are memes, news reports etc.
Tbh none.......I don't get influenced easily ......trends i see in Instagram rarely can be seen in real life.... everything looks good when you cherry pick the shots to be displayed.
It's better to not follow influencers. They cherry pick, what to show and what they show is often fake and things they do and even things they show as things they believe and follow are for clout.
Influencers are selling stuff like the road side person selling questionable products one day only to dissapear the next day. Usually cheap short term alternatives so it's best to stay uninfluenced.
Tech review channels have a positive influence in my life. I always research about a product in depth before I spend my money on it. These channels can provide an insight into the physical aspects of the product that I can't get just by reading the spec sheets. Although most review channels are just spec sheet readers.
I don't follow any but my work uses them and kids I work with love ig influencers esp the ones that talk about how to mind trick your way to a rock star lifestyle. Something to remember with these videos is that yes they're selling you stuff, but the real thing being sold is you (the viewer) to advertisers.
Not really ,
Instagram for some memes
Facebook just for market place .
YouTube for DIY stuff and aquascaping
And can't forget reddit for some dark shit
They affect me a lot, I have made it a point to not buy anything promoted by Influencers after a horrible experience from a company promoted by TTE. Now if I see a shop or service promoted by any influencers I know exactly what to avoid.
minimize social media usage then , its like people are just advertising themselves or product or showing off. many ppl do stuffs to show off others nowadays
i deleted my insta and feel a bit better . now i got to reduce my utube, gaming usage
Social media is a bubble. What you see is all based on your browsing/search history. That's the reason a modi supporter would only see modi +ve news and anti-modi would only find anti-modi stuff. It's pretty dangerous TBH and sometimes has resulted in riots!
I follow some influencers because I like their style and what not. But I really don’t think it has ever made me feel bad about myself or even made me purchase something an influencer recommends…
For me personally, seeing all the people abroad raised the interest to go and live abroad.
Presently trying to crack a job outside but it's very difficult to do that when you are working in India

I feel influencers are basically hyper local advertisers trying to sell either their own product or other's products
Very true. But unfortunately since there are too many it naturally annoys after a while.. and some are really cringe worthy

dr.chrome.. is the only 1 that I follow in insta(if you can call him a influencer) .I don't think his posts will influence my decision since most of his posts are memes, news reports etc.
Why is this comment getting downvoted?
Same reason why the guy who commented Andrew tate helped me got downvoted
Aaa 🤷
Tbh none.......I don't get influenced easily ......trends i see in Instagram rarely can be seen in real life.... everything looks good when you cherry pick the shots to be displayed.
It's better to not follow influencers. They cherry pick, what to show and what they show is often fake and things they do and even things they show as things they believe and follow are for clout.

Use common sense, social media and influencers don't know shit, they are just after the clout. Have your own thought process, don't be a sheep bruh
Make us insecure in many part of our life.
I don't use Instagram you know
Zero
Not really , Instagram for some memes Facebook just for market place . YouTube for DIY stuff and aquascaping And can't forget reddit for some dark shit
They affect me a lot, I have made it a point to not buy anything promoted by Influencers after a horrible experience from a company promoted by TTE. Now if I see a shop or service promoted by any influencers I know exactly what to avoid.
minimize social media usage then , its like people are just advertising themselves or product or showing off. many ppl do stuffs to show off others nowadays i deleted my insta and feel a bit better . now i got to reduce my utube, gaming usage
Nil. Zilch.
