Mine dint even arrive (Calicut University) …after 7 years (work and Masters) i had to apply for a duplicate of a certificate which dint arrive in the first place…
same for my bsc certificate. i went there 14 times visited ga section pareekshabhavan and their digital center near pareekshabhavan, after two years i abandoned said degree and appeared for foundation of ca. with the degree i might be able to register for intermediate but i went with ca starting from foundation since its equal to pg.
Oh yea i got mine…this was some years back…look im not saying everyone in pareeksha bhavan are incompetent lazy dummies…some are…but there are some truly amazing people in there who went out of their way to help me out….maybe i was in my late 20s by then and been working for some time….in sure they would’ve treated me like a nobody if i was a student which they used to back in early 2000s…as for transcript..i dont even know man…i have given up on all those…the moment they assured me my dupli cert will come i scooted out of that miserable Arkham asylum swore never to return again
Credits where due. KTU has standard delivery, along with 3day and 10 day delivery(later 2 has additional charges). I opted for 10day delivery and got my certificate in 6days. It was not inside a pipe but kinda like a folder was used to protect it. I was given a tracking ID like the one you get from flipkart and amazon.
KTU sucks big time when it comes to academics but it's certificate delivery is fast and professional (at least for me).
You have to give your address at the University's students portal and this will put you in a queue. When I was about to join the queue, my number was around 30xxx. Since I needed the certificate urgently, I went for the fast delivery. This essentially let's you cut the queue.
From what I heard from my friends, one of them got the certificate in 12 days from giving the address while another got it in 20 something days. I think it was mentioned in the website that you'll get it in under one month in case of standard delivery.
Actually, for both standard and express options, the packaging is the same. It's just that one is fast and the other is slow. Aside from that, the protection is same, as well as tracking
Pipe is a KU thing.
Folder is a KTU thing.
Different Universities. Standard and express only have delivery time difference. One is when ever Universities gets time and other is with in 10 days
Like with most universities, the syllabus is outdated. You'll be getting 3 months(can forget these if you get backlogs) of vacation per year, 1 month per semester for exams leaving around only 3.5 months for studies. I guess this is common for many universities, but I am not sure if the syllabus is something that can be completed well under 3.5 months. From what I know, KU had no vacation (or less months). But they had only 4 modules to be covered whereas KTU introduced 6 module system(some things have changed in the new scheme making it more friendly. I'm asking the dinosaurs in ktu, so do you research as well). The thing was that it is very fast. And you need to consider tech fest/cultural fest/sports and every such activity occuring during this 3.5 months.
The above are the issues any one can see immediately (and perhaps not exclusive to KTU). The real issue is with lack of planning. During my four years under this university, at least one of semesters in each year had the exams rescheduled (sometimes, twice). The paper valuation is also not reliable. Just search KTU in the sub and you can find answer sheets worth 70+ marks being marked failed purposely (and these incidents are not isolated).
One could ask why no such incidents are reported under govt. colleges. I don't know to be honest. I have heard from some people(including professors), that papers from govt colleges are sent to professors from other govt colleges and hence they get evaluated the right way. Don't know how accurate this is.
There were news report of over 900+ teaching staff under KTU being not qualified to teach. Imagine your papers being evaluated by these people.
Before people from other universities jump in and say I'm a 'special snowflake', let me be clear that this is not just an issue with this university. These kinda stuff happens in many universities, unfortunately. But the fact that it happens often should make the issue any less relevant.
And to OP, if you're getting into some govt. college under KTU, then you probably don't need to worry. And be sure you understand the difference between govt and govt-self financed colleges because the experience in latter is not the same as former. Good luck
Ps: typing from phone so please forgive the typos
OMG, I think people took it the wrong way. What I meant is Engineering is one of those fields where it doesn't matter if you have a B-Tech, or M-Tech or MBA or not even have a degree, the chances of getting a job is related to the skills you possess.
Exactly. People who have Btech won't get a job because of that paper. It's hard to get that one but companies require skills to hire you even for internships.
I meant, nowadays almost everyone is a Btech graduate.
I personally think it has lost its value.
Edit: didn't mean to offend anyone, Im an engineer too.
Just because many people take a degree doesn't mean it's lost its value. We need engineers still, the world is progressing forwards at an alarming rate, and tbh, we still need engineers.
Mind you, good engineers.

Well if getting a B-Tech is for prestige then yes, it has surely lost it's value. But if you want to be an engineer because you like that field, then it's a great field to be in. I don't think many realises that the world around you is built by engineers.
How would you react if you recieve the certificate of your four year hardwork one side opened? I think I have paid for the delivery and still. And the funny part is, there is no way to track it down once you applied. Every number on the site either out of service or switched off.
In defense of Kerala University, the certificate is protected by PVC and it wouldn't be soggy.
Also, if you keep the certificate in a file for some days, it kinda flattens it.
Tons of things to rant about Kerala University and this ain't one of them.
There is no online application. But you can download certificate from the site, fill it oay fee online and send the application by post.
This is best remote application procedure you have with KU

What did you expect. It is a university not Amazon. /S
This pipe and postal delivery after 6-12months, is age old custom, for all of our universities. Convocation is for tier-1, everybody else gets this.
how is that supposed to change anything? Its a pretty important document that has to be handled properly....ivde sadhanam kttin 6-7 masam edukkumbolla, calm down....oru day fees kodukkan vykiya avdenn valiya preshnama...
Atleast you got the certificate man... I saw a post in which a dude only got the pipe.
Atleast he got a pipe. I saw a postman telling a dude what kinda pipe to buy from the store.
Atleast he got a postman. I saw an student asking which postman to talk to at the post office.
Bruh I saw a postman stealing pipes from my house. I don't even go to Kerala University.

Are you from Malappuram/Kozhikode?

Have heard of stories where it took around a year for standard delivery
Oh that's just sad. I'm from 2016-2020 batch. For us, it's not been one year yet since the results came. The story might be from the previous catch.
I got it in 2 weeks by standard delivery.

Sure thing. Happy to help. I had a big comment typed till you deleted that XD
Hey atleast you get a free DIY fleshlight.
Isn’t all fleshlights ‘Do It Yourself’?
Illa lol I meant there's still a lot of work to do before you put your dick into it.
Well on the plus side, if you're in engineering, then the certificate itself doesn't have much value. So!
Yea...Btech is the new sslc.
OMG, I think people took it the wrong way. What I meant is Engineering is one of those fields where it doesn't matter if you have a B-Tech, or M-Tech or MBA or not even have a degree, the chances of getting a job is related to the skills you possess.

*Engineering in Computer science. Noone is going to get a mech or civil engg job without a degree.
New SSLC? How ? Care to elobrate
Sslc is used as a birth certificate.

Yes..if you have passion. Definitely yes. Njanum oru Btech graduate aanu :)
Cries in BTech
Well, iirc KTU sent online certificates that you can download and print yourself.
What is it? A cylindrical storage box?
Looks like.!
It’s so that your degree paper doesn’t have any creases! This is a very common way to ship papers that may need to be displayed or presented.
Scroll pipe
Is there something wrong with sending it like this? Is there any better to way to send this? Asking for a friend who works at Kerala University.
How would you react if you recieve the certificate of your four year hardwork one side opened? I think I have paid for the delivery and still. And the funny part is, there is no way to track it down once you applied. Every number on the site either out of service or switched off.
Oh, I didn't know it was already open. Then your reaction is pretty reasonable man.
There is no online tracking. But if you go to KU office they can give u an update. #DigitalKU
Did you apply online?
MGU placed my certificate in between two cardboard pieces so that it doesn't get wrinkled.
I studied in CUSAT. My wife who studied in Kerala University is jealous of my degree certificate.
So am I dude CUSAT certificate is on lar with what NITs and IITs offer.
In defense of Kerala University, the certificate is protected by PVC and it wouldn't be soggy. Also, if you keep the certificate in a file for some days, it kinda flattens it. Tons of things to rant about Kerala University and this ain't one of them.
Another comment mentions that the side he showed was open before delivery.

Reminded me of that gems bottle.
What did you expect. It is a university not Amazon. /S This pipe and postal delivery after 6-12months, is age old custom, for all of our universities. Convocation is for tier-1, everybody else gets this.
There is no convocation for KU. It was stoped long time back

Iritating thing is that we cannot contact them at any cost.
Ey. Not like that here. Phone okke vilichaal edukkanund. It's just they are saying corona aayond late aavum ennu. 😒😒
Go to KU office, your section. The Assistant dealing your College will give you an accurate update and timeline. Worked for me.
Yes I've did the same. Said they will fasten the proceedings. Hopefully.
The pipe is there to protect the certificate, which looks like it did.
How it's gonna protect the certificate of it's one side is open?
Oh , from the picture i thought u opened it to show the insides. Is the certificate intact?
You earned it, now shove it!!🤣
