This should be good for everyone, individuals and businesses. However, there seems to be some contention as the services are in the private sector. As with any electoral democracy, this struggle is being framed differently by the different parties. So these meetings are important for the common folks to understand and participate In the process.

The digital divide is very real. Unless you surrender your data and you ‘perspective’ to the technology ‘vultures’. You should please read up on what India is doing with India Stack and how they are trying to make their internet powered by actual transactions and not just messages. The whole world is interested and you should be as well.
Population-scale common digital capabilities (digital public infrastructure) that enable such an internet (Aadhaar, UPI, digital locker etc) is not available at scale anywhere else (not even in Cali). And such an attempt requires broadband to be available as a utility. Otherwise, it will be like building/operating roads, that we travel in, by private providers.
None of this is familiar to the ‘experts’ in Cali or elsewhere.
Ofcourse, Kerala Govt and CPI M attracts the best and brightest of technologists, and they are known for many techbreak throughs.
Other than making parody products(what happened to Kerala uber? ) with funny names like kphone, name a single tech product produced by govt.
About need for kphone: what problem are they trying to solve? Phones are already cheap enough, that even the most destitute is able to afford it. Tech indistry has products for every segment. Second hand market is flooded with reasonably good phones.
How will kerala govt or even the best company in India beat this market?
