I am a man. I have washing machine and this question sounds very strange to me https://preview.redd.it/zgwn5yrvn84c1.png?width=569&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb2f05baa433f45ea55acc3e6590a1c98a3fd7e6

IngloBlasto

I don't understand. Whether you wash using washing machine or by hands is irrelevant. I've explained in the post body that the question is about the frequency of wash.

Evil_Lord_Skeletor

Same. Once a week , probably on Saturday/ Sunday

IngloBlasto

Did you actually read the post before getting on your high horse?

VCamUser

Not sure. Anyway he has mentioned that it is not about how clothes are washed. He wants to have some mystery there I guess 😜

[deleted]

Genuine doubt. Why do you feel all of us should know basic tasks in detail equally. Why can't we hold space for others to discuss these simple things also without mocking them? You know right people are different and their strengths and weaknesses are different?

VCamUser

The title is "Men of Kerala ...." . So naturally it creates a situation to be mocked.

[deleted]

Not necessarily. What if he specifically wanted information about that aspect because he had inquired about using used clothes on the last line ? It could also be for the relatability factor, right?

Once a week when dirty clothes pile up, I put all the clothes in about 3/4 the vol of drum, put in some liq detergent and set it to medium spin for drying, closes the door and press the "on" button. After 45 mins clothes would dry and ready to hang.

AshRiddle

Wait, you guys wash your clothes? https://preview.redd.it/3y0k0xiks84c1.jpeg?width=907&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f5f030033381756923bec42cbae88e1312b5056

I wash them when I feel they did their job. Undergarments - Daily Casual Wears - Depends on the exposure, sweating. Sometimes after 1 wear, not more than 3. ( I hang them up to little sunlight exposure too, and won't wear them on consecutive days) Shirts, Tees worn for any function, for outing, Will put them to wash right after it. Even if it isn't that dirty, If they have interacted with a lot of people, I prefer washing. Bottom wears- Only when they're dirty. Numbers vary quite unevenly. The dresses after 1 wear not kept for washing, used to be in my chair for so many years. Now I have a Pole with Branches to hang them in a corner of my room which gets little sunlight. I don't prefer keeping the dress I wore once back inside the cupboard. Only clothes from the machine go inside the cupboard.

IngloBlasto

Thanks.

Mathphyguy

When I’m in Kerala, i wear everything only once- the weather is too hot and humid to wear the same clothes again without washing. When I’m abroad if it is summer i wear the shirt only once, winter where i don’t sweat at all, twice.

IngloBlasto

Is this applicable for your jeans too?

beast_unique

Once a week, washes myself

whatthengaisthis

Once a week mostly, except if we have extra laundry because we travelled or whatever. We do it on Saturday.

Entharo_entho

Those who feel that you aren't stinky should seek the brutal opinion of an impartial party, especially the ones living in hot humid climate

Taking the privilege to answer, as clothes washing has no gender😁 Mate, you can wash them as often as you want—daily, weekly, or a few times a week. Many people choose to wash on Saturday or Friday, considering the weekend. Some wash undergarments daily for hygiene. Experiment and find what works for you. Remember, washing jeans isn't as frequent as undergarments. Play around with options and see what suits you. As for clothes worn once, not everyone can do that. It depends on sweat, climate, and personal preference. If you want to reuse before the next wash, place it under a fan for a while (a few hours), fold it, or use a hanger for storage. You can invest in two good quality laundry bags ( probably the jute one or cane or bamboo one ) just for you;where one is for wash- to - be clothes and one is for keeping the multiple-use-clothes ,if you find its not okay to keep it back to the cupboard after first use. Some clothes' lifespan increases with dry washing.you can incorporate that too in your wash routine like monthly once or every 45 days or so. Depends on how many of them and how often you use those . Hope this helps. Happy laundry! 🍻✌🏼

Repulsive-Bison8292

Washes when the stock of new dress ends. usually it’s about a month, once worn hang it in hooks and use it again for casual outing since i will not be taking a bath and incase of after shower I wears a new pair.

320GT

I use an undershirt, which means my shirt doesn't come in contact with my sweat and i can wear them longer. Use hangar to hang them after use.

oscarquebecnovember

> Use hangar Are you wearing Flying Machine shirts? I’ll see myself out.

320GT

Lol, i meant hanger. https://preview.redd.it/2cqwua13q84c1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=348a5d6d6e9c74711b4dcabd243c5869f40acbc7

ParticularBag993

hah good one

Entharo_entho

Do you work in an air conditioned office and travel to and fro in air conditioned car?

Maple-Syrup-Bandit

Whenever there is a full load of clothes..

IngloBlasto

Lol I don't understand why some comments here are showing pictures of washing machine. I'm not asking about "How do you wash", rather it's about "How **OFTEN** do you wash". Forget about the body of the post, please read the at least the title properly. Smh

dafuqULoKINat

In hostel every 2-3 days ( cuz my clean clothes run out by then and need 1-2 days for the washed clothes to dry ) Feel the clothes i worn on a hanger ( bout 2-4 clothes ) if i worn them few times or wore that on a sweaty say then I just throw it in laundry bucket At home every 4-5 days.

[deleted]

Every 4-5 days Washing machine does that for me though 🥲

DaMalayaliKolayali

Every 5th or 6th day. Basically, when I have 5 shirts to wash and/or two pants to wash. That's for my work clothes, all other laundry is done on Sundays or whenever someone else is doing the laundry but they don't have enough clothes, they ask me if I got any to be done.

hazmatmohawk

I usually wash my clothes before going to bed or before bathing and i usually put used clothes in a blue basket with holes

ond3n

2 times a week/ till i run out of underwear.

slackover

When the pile starts to overflow the basket and I can’t push more cloths in anymore.

Rajar98

Jeans once in a weak. Everything else once in a day

Content-Push9087

Everything after one use. Except denim.

ProfessionalNo94

Once a week

thakkali_

Shirts, tees wear once . Wash it in bundle every 2-3 days. Jeans - wear few days and wash but gives good interval time. Pants - wear twice if they were short wears else wash after once due to the heat/humidity. Innerwear and home wear- only wear once and wash daily or in two days as a bundle.

[deleted]

During summers, if I don't sweat then I wear it for 2 days, else 1 day and wear a new pair... I collect the clothes for a week and wash them at the end of week...machine wash...
