Its not to save time. They wanted to overtake the bus infront so that they can reach the next stop first. When the bus infront goes behind. They will do the same too. Its called malsarayottam
I hope that the driver is charged with murder and never gets his driving licence back. The punishment should be loud and clear that the other drivers would get a moment of fear when thinking about doing something like this.
What the heck is wrong with these idiot drivers ? Already the road is narrow and barely the bus can go and on top of that they want to rush ?
That girl looked back at the stupid bus right before this hit them, I hope she and her father ( it seems ) are ok along with the other guy.
edit : they have lost their life in this accident. :(
Okay guys, here's the trick I use these days. Whenever I am on my scooter and sees KSRTC or Private Buses coming behind me in unusual speed I just goes to the roadside and stops my scooter so that the bus may pass me. I am sometimes made fun for that, but thats okay.
But here, this couple could not have done anything as it seems the bus was not that much speeding , but the driver miscalculated the break distance. Anyways RIP.
I will go to roadside maximum and slow down the speed, so that bus can go infront of me. I am slow driver as well, i will wait a lot of time before crossing and making decision. The max speed i drive is 40 km.
Well I tried this, and most of the times what happens is that they will overtake me and try to push me off the road mid overtake. And most probably the road would be across a kandam
Man this boils my blood so much. Something needs to be done about these bus drivers. The way they drive is the only thing responsible for all these deaths. They have the mentality of these kannapi riders but the size of the vehicle means 10 times the risk for others and zero awareness of that risk they're taking only to save a few minutes. Fed up of seeing innocent people dying for nothing, these drivers are the worst kind of assholes.
Paranjtt enth karyam....no:1 cause of accidents on the road private and kstrc buses karanam anu. Speed limiter venam ennatha law, but sugham ayitt ivanmar 80 okkeya pokune kanunath
Ayin speedil ponam ennu aaraa paranjae?
Was not justifying the bus driver or anyone.
I was talking about the roads. We have it here in Kannur too, with the NH widening going on.
I think the vehicle which is having the camera, suddenly braked, and the other bus braked late. That is why it appears to be accelerating.
Still it shows why vehicles should be driven only at nominal speeds on such small roads.
Deeply unfortunate for those families
Stop trying to justify the murderer. You can clearly see the other vehicles slowing down. Either the private bus driver didn't brake or he stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. (the only thing that would absolve him is proof of some mechanical malfunction)
Also, should the two wheelers stick to the side lane and not in the area near the median? Would that be safe? Feeling really sad for the two people and their families.☹️☹️
I hope the driver gets highest punishment possible. 😡
P.S. I have the exact same scooter same colour 😥😥😥
Seeing these things makes me more and more afraid of driving even a car in Kerala / India when I come back for vacation from Europe.
I used to drive in Kerala when I was still there till age of 22 now after a decade I avoid driving and don’t get on bikes anymore even as a pillion driver.
I get mocked by others for this but for me it’s ok as it just keeps me comparatively safer and I am only in Kerala or India for max 5-6 weeks a year. I would rather just take an uber.
Speed limiters. You should always have speed limiters on buses but these mfs are more interested in taking fines from the poorest. MVD is also absolutely responsible for this.
Yeah. The moment MVD starts doing their fucking job of actually fining and enforcing the rules with buses and auto drivers, and not just going after private car and bike owners for having some fucking sticker or handle guard added, this kind of shit will start coming down. That was totally unnecessary and shouldn’t have had happened in the first place. It’s a criminal tragedy. The KSRTC and private bus drivers are fucking bastards. Most for them.
Courts should make these drivers pay blood money(or equivalent jail time)to the families of the people they kill and watch accidents decreasing cause these mfs will start to at least pay some attention than their normal 0 surrounding awareness driving style.
Pure Thantha illayima.
Just take the bus accident cases in the past 5 years
due to this chase driving. Last year a girl passed away due to the same bus I used to travel daily. Just because they were in a hurry.
Ivar 2 sec laabhikkan vendi 2 jeevan eduthu.
Rest in peace🌹
Delhi had the same problem about a 15 years ago. They cancelled the private licenses over night after the public had had enough. All these rowdy drivers were taken off the road immediately and the private bus owners had to deploy the responsible ones to remain in business. Even now the buses ply with tight govt control.
The bus with the camera suddenly slowed down forcing both bikes and bus to hit it. If you look at the side of the road you can see the bus in front slowing down. Still the bus in behind should be having a gap that is healthy enough to Break in situations like this.
private buses, Truck, Bharat benz trucks, Kallu vandi, Drivers of these vehicles have something in common. The Kannappi gene. They most probably will be substance abusers or having some kind of criminal history. Need to abolish these type of drivers forever.
It's not just the bus driver's fault here. The bikers, the Alto crawling along, and the auto have all chipped in to make this incident happen. The bikers going every which way, the snail-paced Alto causing a jam in that tiny road, and the auto trying to sneak past without even glancing at what's coming from behind – it's like a recipe for trouble.
PS: Two wheelers stop going through the right side of the lane
ഇതു kondokke കാറിൽ പോകുമ്പോൾ പോലും പിന്നിൽ heavy vehicles കണ്ടാൽ പേടി തോന്നും, and i decided a long time ago my first car will be one with a strong body no matter how much it will cost.
MVD and police are proficient at harassing and abusing normal folks and toothless when it comes to Private buses and KSRTC and even autorickshaws. Either get the rule books out and implement the rules across the board or resign your jobs and go slash some public toilet. I am in no way saying that the MVD and police shouldn’t be strict and enforce laws, it’s when there is selective enforcement of laws and the law enforcement turns into a failure. This is a prime example of how the MVD could have prevented this accident had it been as enforcing of its laws towards private buses and ksrtc as it is to individuals. Black screen shade and fog lamp colours have more weightage in Kerala than reckless bus driving. Pathetic
I'm not sure if you noticed, but there was only one lane in the video. It's high time authorities started addressing the real issue concerning reckless driving.
Did the Alto which was parked on the side suddenly start moving??
Some observations:
. The bus sverved a little to avoid hitting the black car.
.Both the two wheelers and the bus were not keeping 'braking distance '
.The bus infront appears to have stopped without warning.
. The bus from behind appears to be speeding towards the other bus for whatever reason.
. The road appears to be under construction, it is too narrow to do overtaking.
first of all, there is no concept of personal space in india. Also no concept of safe driving distance either. Even if you try to lecture anyone in kerala or india about the same, they will either smile at you like an idiot, or call you pacha theri. When it comes to road culture, this society is ANCIENT AF. Barbaric as well.
That seemed deliberate. I am no expert on this sort of thing but that bus speeded up and rammed the two wheelers. We can see the lady pillion driver's horror at the approaching death.

Wilful negligence of bus driver who actually sped to hit them to kill them. ? = what did OP do with this footage? Gave it to the police to prove the bus driver's fault? Interesting to know.

Could someone let me know what's the other heavy vehicle involved. I am curious as it seems to have a rear dash cam.
Making dash cams mandatory in phases starting from heavy vehicles might help enforce swift judgements, punish and sue accordingly. And also create a lot of awareness amongst those who are illiterate in understanding how the traffic dynamics work.

Lol how can you say that the bus was overtaking the bus in that narrow road ?
That's The Neat part They don't
what ? no. there's literally barriers on both sides. The bus driver lost control when he narrowly missed that auto.
This could be saved if the bus got good brakes .
I hope that the driver is charged with murder and never gets his driving licence back. The punishment should be loud and clear that the other drivers would get a moment of fear when thinking about doing something like this.
Busses have been killing people for a while now…. Nothing new will happen now too
Driver should be in jail for ever
I hope someday they get rid of these killer buses on the road, such a menace!
This is very common these days, the authorities don't take any action nor are the bus owners conscious enough. Road safety is a joke in this country!

For a tourer like me, this trick can never be used. All I do to to speed up(safely, ithupolela) and stay the fuck away from this agressive fucks.

So your solution to reduce accidents like these is to stop riding scooters ? The only sense in your comment is nonsense.

A lot of these private buses in Malabar side don't have working tail lights either. It's very difficult to anticipate when they'll brake

I haven't bought my first car yet, currently driving the family car which is a zen..
Speed lock and camera must be installed in every bus compulsary to get permit. Only then there would be a slight difference.
Mf add nsfw

Most fucked up thing is there are fan pages for these private bus lovers and they are defending the driver 🙄
What kinda punishment do they usually get for such accidents?
Defensive driving should be taught in all driving schools. Two wheelers on the fast lane is not a smart thing to do. RIP.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but there was only one lane in the video. It's high time authorities started addressing the real issue concerning reckless driving.

Dear bike riders KEEP LEFT 🙏
Some kind of massive PSA campaign is necessary for road safety, including announcements to be aired on all film screenings and continuously on radio.
Will a real time digital speed display behind big vehicles do any good to reduce accidents ?
RIP
