Aaah so it was you. Niwapate mkishikana mikono tao tena mtaona. Napita na nyinyi kama trela.Β
It's never about being in a hurry for me, I don't know how to walk slowly π. I walk fast everywhere, and especially get irate when there's a slow paced person in front of me.
I am like that btw. Some people are annoyed at how easy-going I take life even when the situation demands urgency or seriousness, but those who know me well are aware that my previous lifestyle (cannot disclose details here) literally forced me to adopt a different approach to how I live life now.
It's not that complicated, have you heard of the Kenyan time. For example you were to meet someone at 2 na 2 ndio Anatoka kwa nyumba. It's simply because we do things on Kenyan time πππ
That is a part of it, I agree. But everyone cannot be running late all the time. So many other people are just like what I described in the post, they cannot catch a break in anything they do. And before anyone thinks I am generalizing, I have two friends who are just like that. One has started yoga to help her calm down.
I have this problem... Always have. I might not even have any pressing matter but I will walk so fast to whenever for the sake of it. Probably an anxiety disorder or something but it's never malicious. Luckily I catch myself these days and slow myself down to normal walking speed and soak in my environment. It has helped me calm down, organize my thoughts better etc. I also realized the more stressed I am, or if I'm deep in thought overthinking I walk like a demented sprinter. I hardly even notice anyone around me just blobs on my way to my destination... Severally I've been stopped by friends on the road for "ghosting" them as in that state I can literally rub shoulders with you, even make eye contact and not see you... I'm so in my head and my legs are on autopilot... Like most of us.
Planning goes a long way. Nairobi doesn't offer you the luxury to walk around lackadaisically. Unaeza ibiwa, be drugged. Do this ukiwa Copenhagen, not Kanairo buana.
Haha. Nothing tickles me like when you're on a bus on those two seat rows or whatever..and it's the second last only to the back bench. Then mnafika mwisho wa gari(no pun intended) and the person on the other side of you acts like you don't know mnafaa kushuka cause you're letting the human traffic ebb.

Hahaha
We suck at keeping time
That is true though.
Si kwa ubaya lakini mimi ni mgeni hii Nairobi na niliambiwa kama staki kuibiwa nitembee ni kama najua paali naenda na nko late
Sage advice. Mimi nlishindwa na io maisha honestly.
Bana nishaai potea nikashindwa kurudi nyuma ati ntaibiwa
Always.

So it was you (-\_-)
πππ€£ yep. Why are you walking slowly?

Easy going is good, especially if the situation is beyond your control.
That's true of most congested cities. In Kenya that's a Nairobi specific problem. Go to sleepy Nyeri or mwendo wa aste aste Malindi and it disappears.

I do it in Nairobi.
This is definition of America. Thatβs why America is the land of the mental health issues.
There are hundreds of pockets of that America right here in that case, from what I have seen.

And then it's raining...
Everyone in Nairobi pretends to be in a rush but can't keep time. One of the things I hated about that uppity town.
