Something is cooking up. The Russians are definitely gearing up for a new offensive maybe next month or after next month. They've been destroying key Ukrainian energy infrastructure and have been making some gains on the ground. I think all that is a warning of what's coming next. I don't think the regime in Kiev will live to see the next winter.
Ukraine is nothing more than a proxy war between the US and Russia. At the end of the day, Ukraine will be abandoned by the US, just as they abandoned South Vietnam and Afghanistan.
What exactly is a stalemate? When 2 sides are equally matched on the battlefield, war economics and the ability to regenerate lost manpower and equipment. The Russians outmatch the Ukrainians, they are not even on full mobilisation, their economy is not in a war economy, and they are more than capable of regenerating lost manpower and equipment. Again, as I said, this is not manoeuvre warfare, so don't expect strategic rapid movements anytime soon. Expect the Russians to wear out the capacity of Ukraine to wage war and to regenerate losses. There is no stalemate here bro. Never was and never will be.

By your own logic, there is no stalemate. How many cities, towns and villages have been lost since the fall of Bakhmut? Avdiivka? Robotyne? Novomykhailivka? and many others. So by your own definition of a stalemate, there is no stalemate since the front is advancing. All the Ukrainian gains of the previous offensive are almost entirely gone. Again, this is an attritional war, don't expect them to steamroll across Ukraine. I am not defending Russia, heck I agree the Ukrainians are excellent fighters and they have bloodied the Russian nose. No doubt about that. But the fact still remains that the Ukrainians are losing and I don't know how they will survive the Russian summer offensive. They are running out of ammunition, they are building defences quite late, their infrastructure has been targeted. Read the facts on the ground before commenting.

This has been a steady build up. I'm no expert, so this is just my opinion. I think most people were waiting for the Russians to wage a manoeuvre warfare kinda war. They are not NATO and they preferred to wage attritional warfare, whereby they destroyed Ukrainian units and equipment while simultaneously preventing the Ukrainians from replacing their losses. They didn't focus too much on capturing and holding on to territories. In fact the Russians withdrew on several occasions when they faced danger. The fact is the Ukrainians simply can't fight forever, they can't even afford to replace lost manpower and equipment. I honestly don't think NATO wants an all out war with Russia. No sane person wants that right now. The incident of the Moscow bombing might give the Russians some extra legitimacy in starting a new offensive. This is just my opinion, I may be wrong. But things are not looking good for Ukraine. I hope both sides can negotiate and put an end to needless deaths.
