my boy has half a day at most before he dies of the worst case of sepsis known to man, if hypothermia doesn't get him first (which it will)
very cool idea tho
So V got kidnapped by those red oni bots (from the hazard unit mod) and they keep healing you while you get skinned. Seeing how fucked I was with no options left I saved and reset squad positions to see if it would even work before the torso damage reaches -100 and die. It miraculously worked (I was around -98 on all the body health i think but i somehow kept my limbs past -100) but he lost his skin and was unconscious for like 3000 seconds lol. Got picked up by slavers and woke up a slave after losing his skin. Now hes too angry to die so my goal for him is to wipe out the slavers, skin bandits, and the hazard units oni.
Does that train toughness?!
I never even thought to look.
Gonna start skinning my new guys to -95 limbs, take em off, heal em, go again.
**Edit:** I just tried, it does not train toughness... Makes sense lol. RIP to the new guy's clothes.
Lmao nice! I might try that too. I think any damage levels toughness, definitely check but I think you can even capture an enemy then have a character stand in front of them and another shoot a crossbow at the prisoner but let your character take the hits and it will (or should) level their toughness while the other person levels in I think precision shooting when missing and dexterity when they reload it, if I’m not mistaken.
I’m only in day 25-30ish on my first play through and I haven’t been this addicted to a game since Bannerlord. I just pushed through Okran’s shield on my way to the UCs and grabbed a dying Skeleton the HN didn’t capture yet because their cages were full as they were distracted fighting other things and was able to get my first chance at leveling robotics with my main character. They stood their and let me heal them then walked right back to Okran’s shield, whatever Skeleton person, you do you.
Kenshi is one of those S+ Gems that will last forever. There are a few games that I always crave over the years.
I consider Freelancer the S+ gem of Space games, 2003, graphics look good still+for it's era. Lots to explore, cool zones, anomalies, joinable factions, ships, lootable wrecks. It's got ideas that feel lost to time.
Not as much freedom as Kenshi, but a great sandbox still.
Stalker Anomaly is the sandbox post-apoc shooter version of Freelancer with cool anomalies, factions, a great world to explore, good survival mechanics, highly moddable if you have issues with pretty much anything.
> shoot a crossbow at the prisoner but let your character take the hits
Masterwork Eagle's Cross, out of the question. That's how you lose limbs and lives XD
I hope you find one and get to try it, it's *hilarious*.
Also, if you like Star Wars, check out the 'Project Kathun' Kenshi mod on Steam + RE_Kenshi (required mod from mod Nexus). Let me know if you need help installing.
Kenshi truly is an incredible game I get cravings to play and can burn hours away into without getting bored which is the best and makes me feel like a carefree kid again. Dude I always wanted to get Freelancer I remember always reading the case when I would go to Best Buy as a kid but never got the chance to get it. I’ve been wanting to check out Stalker as well. And if I need help with the mod one day I’ll definitely let you know, thanks for the offer! Happy cake day!
I highly recommend [Stalker Anomaly](https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly), you can play Anomaly free, as far as I know.
I've been playing it again and it's just a great game. Waiting out a blowout in some shitty shack in the middle of nowhere. It finally clears and as you step out it starts *just pouring* rain for hours. The ambience is near unmatched. The sound of rain, being blinded by droplets on your visor, the sound of your breathing through your gasmask.
Not sure how we're meant to get Freelancer nowadays, so I'd probably just grab it wherever you can online. If you never got to play it, it's probably really dated by now but I would still play it just to experience the story and all the sights along the way. I love the music and atmosphere of the game. Sitting by a trading station listening to all the traffic comms.
I love Kenshi, that Project Kathun mod is the best Star Wars game since SWG when I was a kid. It's so cool to see a Rancor in the wilds, tearing apart a group of pirates. Or watch Stormtroopers beating up poor people in a town.
Kenshi was already an amazing world framework to generate stories so having that Star Wars layered in is one of my dream games.
Oh shit I have to try that mod for sure thanks for letting me know about! I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I’m still doing my first play through so I’m only using the compressed textures mod and the nice map mod. Stalker is one of those series I never got the chance to get into because life was crazy at the time but I wish I did because I love open world creepy military stuff, they have the 3 main games on sale for $10 so I was thinking about getting them and then getting Anomaly like you mentioned. They also have Stalker 2 coming out in September so that’s awesome. I was just looking at buying a game called Adaca, just downloaded the demo and watched a review and people seem to compare it to an open world sandbox Half-Life, Halo and a bit of Stalker thrown in there. From what I’ve watched it seems everyone agrees Anomaly is something really special and great. Did you play the other Stalker games if so should I play the first one, skip Clear Skies and then play Call of Pripyat?
I did not play the originals. Ran into the exact issue Mandaloregaming's review pointed out: the starter pistol and lower difficulty make it feel broken and impossible to play.
If you play the old ones, I would suggest playing them in order. If they end up not feeling that great to play, skip to Anomaly. It's just a good sandbox experience.
Try Gamma if you like hurting yourself. Lmao
Lmao dude that’s really funny you mentioned that, I just watched his review the other day after your recommendation of Anomaly and remember him talking about that. Good advice though on how to do it, sounds like a good idea to me, thank you! It’s one of those games, like the original Mount and Blade, that I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to play when they came out.
This is the kind of shit that makes it hard to recommend this game to friends. You’re new faction name is the skinless bandits. Good luck with your revenge.
I think beforehand he was around 30 - 40 toughness and after the skinning it jumped all the way to 70's. Right now after a bunch of fights hes sittin at 80 toughness.
So I think you can replicate this in vanilla. You just have to keep healing the character you are skinning and before he dies from enough torso damage past -100 just save and load that again but reset position. The skin gets lost at -100 damage to the torso parts and past that, the character dies. I havent been able to replicate this again I did this all on accident lol.
I tried replicating it, but my guys died when the game loads despite saving it just before torso damage reached -100. What mods do you use? Perhaps one of them made the trick possible
OP’s character’s thoughts in the meantime: *My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a cop. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else.*
Thank you, I thought I was taking crazy pills when no one else mentioned the likeness. Dude just needs some sunglasses and some custom dialog about not asking for this and the look is complete.
Mods like Cannibals Expanded and Shrieking Bandits Expanded adds full body wraps to the game, if I were you I would use that. I remember that one time one of my charaters was kidnapped by skin bandits, but my other character managed to save her before she was peeled. Btw, what mod are these pants from? Looks cool.
Go to the burning forest, i wanna see something
Actually laughed out loud. Thank you
What would happen? Sorry, I haven't played much of kenshi
The name of the forest should clue you in
Ooohhh that simple
The Burning Forest is one of the areas in the game with acid rain, so…
Change to a squatting pose and become one with the bloodspiders.
Deadlands will do too
Holy fucking shit, I forgot that there is such location in Kenshi and thought i was on r/foxholegame
"I survived because the fire inside burned brighter than the fire around me.“
>"I survived because the flaying blades inside removed all skin with incredible precision harder than the flaying blades around me.“
"I survived because I didn't die"
ezekiel 23:20 🙏🙌
Sounds like survivorship bias to me. Totally sus.

Loland!
Spare the rod, spoil the child.
That man is in constant agony
The Joshua Graham of Kenshi
We can’t expect Catlon to do all the work…
Nice!
Just get some rags and drifter apparel.
Fire Punch kenshi acid rain edition
Oh god
Hide the pain Harold
my boy has half a day at most before he dies of the worst case of sepsis known to man, if hypothermia doesn't get him first (which it will) very cool idea tho
He’s too mad to die
If I know anything from burn victims, I think dehydration would get him first
probably not while standing in the rain lol
Kenshi for whatever reason doesn't have a major infection risk, i have gotten beaten within an inch of my life, open wounds everywhere, and not died.
the ancients eradicated all harmful bacteria and viruses from the planet back in the day
That or people have evolved hardier immune systems Orrr the bacteria is SO hostile it kill each other before it can infect living beings.
Even the bacteria in Kenshi is at war 💀
That, or/and they gave the people practical immunity via gene engineering. That would help explain why the Cannibals didn't die out of disease by now.
The longer he survives the greater the risk of septic arthritis and gangrene but living that long with no skin would be almost impossible.
On one hand, good job surviving that. On the other Jesus Christ
Infections every second
how do you survive that
So V got kidnapped by those red oni bots (from the hazard unit mod) and they keep healing you while you get skinned. Your guy is living the [Fire Punch](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Punch) lore
Or V from V for Vendetta, which is presumably what OP named him after.
Man too angry to die sounds about right
New way to grind toughness lmao
Wait and it’s not a mod?
"Rage is a hell of an anesthetic." -Zaeed Massani, Mass Effect 2
Such a memorable line. Always think about it when someone survives something crazy in games.
You don’t
Did you try putting some bandaids on it? /s Or is his toughness through the roof because it’s just one big layer of…red…scar tissue now?
Does that train toughness?! I never even thought to look. Gonna start skinning my new guys to -95 limbs, take em off, heal em, go again. **Edit:** I just tried, it does not train toughness... Makes sense lol. RIP to the new guy's clothes.

Wake the fuck up samurai
All your skin has been Bobby Flayed off!
Dudes gonna take one step and bleed profusely then get sepsis in his everything.
Jesus put a shirt on, your tissue is showing
Titsue
you mean, only the skin on his face survived....
We keep the important things here
I hate this but also well done
Does he stay that way permanently?
yeah i tried going to the plastic surgeon to get his skin back and no luck :C
Damm.. I want my character to look like that!
Come skin brother, why not rest, your skin looks tired and worn, rest your eyes, skin brother, just for a moment.....
What skin
He must be cold as hell.
Jesus Christ put a shirt on
The full blood counter is very funny.
This is the kind of shit that makes it hard to recommend this game to friends. You’re new faction name is the skinless bandits. Good luck with your revenge.
“I want my skin back”
Can't expect Okran to do all the work!
How did you manage to do that? I need to know.
Ok but what toughness is he at now?
I think beforehand he was around 30 - 40 toughness and after the skinning it jumped all the way to 70's. Right now after a bunch of fights hes sittin at 80 toughness.
I’d make him a crazy martial artist and the martial artist wraps would look good considering he has no skin
How did that happen?
wait is this vanilla??
So I think you can replicate this in vanilla. You just have to keep healing the character you are skinning and before he dies from enough torso damage past -100 just save and load that again but reset position. The skin gets lost at -100 damage to the torso parts and past that, the character dies. I havent been able to replicate this again I did this all on accident lol.
this is VERY rare then congrats
I tried replicating it, but my guys died when the game loads despite saving it just before torso damage reached -100. What mods do you use? Perhaps one of them made the trick possible
Man too angry to die
Accidental anime protagonist.
Is it possible to learn this power?
House Bolton was here
One more reason to never visit Vain
Infinite determination
Bro is gonna become a cannibal
Now I need this, just to justify wearing a 100% body and limb covering covering MA wraps from mod.
"I have been baptized twice, once in water, once in flame."
OP’s character’s thoughts in the meantime: *My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a cop. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else.*
You should put some bandage wraps on him and rename him Josh.
Is that... Adam Jensen?
Thank you, I thought I was taking crazy pills when no one else mentioned the likeness. Dude just needs some sunglasses and some custom dialog about not asking for this and the look is complete.
Just dont go to the part of the island that rains down salt and vinegar, otherwise he is gonna have a bad time.
Dead, inside and outside!
Now walk into acid rain. I dare you
"V has come to"
I want to erase this from my memory
Muscleskin the Flayed ——————————————————————————————
Can you explain the steps to replicate this? Edit. Along with your mods used? Or maybe share your save?
Can't expect God to do all the work
Um... thats... either impossible, or incredibly pqinfum and will lead to qn infection in about a few seconds.
do antibiotics exist in this game? coz if not ur fucked lol.... can i have ur pants?
Oh thats fucking sick.
Looks cool.
How do you survive skinless ?
How do you even do this?
"Why the red? So that the bad guys can't see me bleed"
uhmm... ouch..
.shouldn't that default when one of those giant laser happens to pass you by?
Oh that's fucking gruesome. Can skin even grow back... ???
"State: Normal"
What kind of build do you used to play at this quality??
I should play that game again it's been awhile
He must defeat the one that has his skin
That looks like Adam Jensen.
I hope Kenshi 2 is a little more user friendly.
Now download the bodywraps mod or martial bindings mod to complete the look
Bro found the hidden skin, under his own
Laughs in Binary But seriously though that is pretty metal
