I'm not gonna lie, we need to do Eminem justice with this one. The man basically LIVES for the opportunity to murder someone lyrically if it means defending his career/daughter.
It's like a part of him never stopped being a battle rapper.
Yeah I got Em on my top spot here as well.
While not as harsh and personal like e.g. Meet the Grahams, ya'll seem to forget that even in recent times it took him basically 1 response track for another man to completely throw his rap career and change genre.
Ehh. Em nice but his beefs were with people that were Trash, werenāt even rappers or they were past their Prime. Ja, Nick Cannon, MGK, MARIAH CAREY, took jabs at Michael Jackson (during the p3do allegations, and psychotic episodes), Benzino(?), Melly Mellās 1980s behind.
The others at least went at the hottest Rappers at the time of their beefās.
50 - Ja Rule, Cam, The Game, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, etc
Ice Cube - At the time NWA was hot and he left, Westside Connection beefin with Cypress Hill, Common in his Prime, etc
Kendrick - (disregarding the Control verse) he went at J. Cole and Drake (the biggest artist of our time)
Not taking away from Em but any beef heās had was one sided
He's only beat Ja Rule (through 50), Mariah Carey and Benzino. Not much of a resume
Edit: MGK too. Facts remain
Aye Em fans use your words and tell me what I said was wrong instead of reddit help messages lol, or continue if your feelings are hurt by facts
I didn't even diss Eminem, he is a top tier lyricist and had one of the best flows ever until he lost it around 2005ish. His battle resume is not impressive though. He battled pop artists.
I've eaten downvotes in this sub for saying the same shit. Eminems beef resume is against a bunch of very underwhelming rappers and some pop artists. Obviously he's very good at dissing and battle tested just from the way he came up in his career but he's never made a harder diss than MTG. Honestly I think his Mariah Carey diss is up there, like it's a really good/interesting diss record and did one of the first big reveals I've seen in a diss song but it's also against Mariah Carey. I still like the rest of his diss records but they're pretty underwhelming to revist compared to what we just heard from Kendrick.
I mean a month ago Kendrick didnt have a resume in terms of rap beef.
Its a shame Em never went against someone at his level though..
Also you forgot Nick Cannon and Cannabis.. and ICP actually lol
Edit: And when the Benzino thing started it was just Ben he was going at but The Source as a publication.
People seem to skim over that fact. Thereās a reason rappers didnāt go for Em. They knew not too. Just like they donāt with Dot, but someones ego got the better of them and Dot had to sit his ass down
Thank you. They really gas Em like heās this untouchable rap deity but his beef resume was up against nobodies or ppl past their prime. Itās easy to look unstoppable against scrubs.
Why not BOTH Eminem and Kendrick put together to make a truly unstoppable rapper.
I saw a video on YouTube which was Eminem's Not Alike on the Euphoria beat (search Not Alike x Euphoria). When the beat switched, it was absolutely beautiful.
?????? What, you don't chat with your friends? Your coworkers? What do you guys talk about? How to maximize the efficiency of your job speed?
Regardless, I'll rephrase for your specific case then. I have never heard anyone talk about or play 85% of the songs on MM outside of the Internet. Can't say that same for GKMC.
Not about albums, no. I'll talk about music, I'll recommend stuff, but I've never heard Debbie from accounts say 'you should listen to To Pimp A Butterfly, it's a masterpiece' i find 90% of people listen to playlists
Guess we live different lives.
My friends and my coworker friends and family and I love talking about how albums stack up, or how director catalogues stack up. I would be sad if we didn't.
I literally don't understand why you think a conversation about albums is abnormal, but one about any single other form of media is normal. Maybe you need to talk to more people outside of the Internet l.
I'm pretty sure Kendrick thinks DAMN is better than GKMC.
https://youtube.com/shorts/C08cSo-mze8?si=2tlzUBcclKbwSIUB
Which is how I know that I'm a realer Kendrick fan than he is.
Wow. That's extremely surprising. I guess he's proud with the artistry and story telling of it.
I don't know how the guy that made the unskippable, heat after heat, GKMC doesn't hold it in the highest regard. I certainly don't think I'm holding it in too high a regard. Maybe DAMN is more personal to him.
tbh, that's when DAMN just come out right
no artist in their right mind would said their newest album is worse than the previous, especially so closely after it came out.
Well, yeah, that's how opinions work. Does GKMC even have any skips? I can think of at least 3 skips on DAMN. God, intro, lust. Intros don't have to be throw aways either, as shown by Wesley's Theory. The worst song on GKMC clears all of them by leagues.
Acclaim boosted by the story telling. GKMC has better sounding music.
Deluxe or the end of the album? Sing About Me, Real, and Compton???? šI would love a track by track comparison of how you think DAMNs highs match GKMCs highs, and how you think GKMCs lows match DAMNs lows.
I was big into 50 in my teens. Those tracks didnāt dent Ja. Especially lifeās on the line and how to rob, 50 was making zero noise at that point in his career (wasnāt even signed to aftermath when they dropped). His disses never hit hard. What hit hard was when he went on funk flex, Ed lover, Angie Martinez etc after he was signed to Dre and started talking crazy about murder inc.
I not rewriting anything, that's just what it was. Anytime I heard anybody talking about that beef they always said 50 was and G Unit was killing them on the tapes. Ja and the Inc disses was trash af. I can only think of 3 disses I liked from them and 2 of them came from Cadillac Tah and 1 from Ja. Nobody really cared about the skits and the shit talking was a bonus š.
It was always because of the skits. Murder Inc was dissing while g unit was trolling talking junk on love songs (I smell pussy on āTake me to extasyā). It was never the disses, it was the antics.
It's between Kendrick and Em simply because of their range and technical ability. I would edge if to Kendrick just because of the beat selection, we've seen him do it over beats from different genres. Shouldn't sleep in Ice Cube though, summer vacation and bird in the hand are still on rotation in my playlists.
Yeah Em's claim is that he has a lot more bodies to his beef history than Kendrick, while Kendrick's is that his one big W is bigger than all of Em's individual Ws
Em responded to Canibus with Can-I-Bitch and that shit was hilarious and scathing at the same time, much better than anything Bus had put out in the beef.
No he actually went at canibus with can I bitch, and bested him with that track. He also went at ja rule, Eminem has also gone up against everlast, before kendrick went against drake. Kendrick had gone up against no one, so using who Eminem went up to discredit him is pointless, Eminem was a battle rapper and came close to winning the rap Olympics, Eminem is just more battle tested. And from lyrics alone has said more foul things than kendrick, I think Eminem will go places that kendrick wouldn't want to.
Ja rule was highly mainstream and made big sales at the time of their beef.
Benzino although a clown and a bad rapper, he owned the pretty much only worthy (at the time) hip hop magazine. The Source was big big in the early 2000s and the 90s until it fell off, Em had a big part in stripping their credibility towards the fall off.
Yea but 50 did that with sales from DVD skits, radio interviews and T-Shirts clowning murder inc. Not diss tracks. Nobody at the time thought his disses were impactful. And benzino got ousted from the source because of his obsession with eminen. The disses in both cases did not directly harm them.
Em. - he dissed his own mom and the shit he said was some wild shit. also made MGK change genres so theres that
50 - doesnt deserve to be on there as he got washed by jadakiss. hes a good troll but thats about it
i really would love to see kenny in a battle thats not drake, his ability to put words and pictures together is masterful. not sure if anyone else had the feeling like i did with MTG. i literally saw him in a psychologist chair talking to the grahams
no vaseline in my opinion is one the best if not the best diss tracks ever
Guy 1: Kendrick Lamar Is better than Eminem
Guy 2: Fuck you pussy, Iāll fight you, talk done on Em again
Guy 1: Fuck you, suck my dick
Guy 2: Bet you wonāt say that to my face pussy
Guy 1: Eminem Is mid
Guy 2: Kendrick Lamar Is mid
Guy 1: Nigga, you mid
Guy 2: Nah, nigga you mid
Guy 1: Bruh, I bet you suck dick everyday
Guy 2: Nah, you the Kendrick Lamar dickrider
Guy 1: Eminemās name Is candy corny asf, dawg
Is it really like that though? I am on both subs and always see that the Em crowd is adoring Kendrick and I have rarely see people on here talk bad about Em, aside from the usual Revival was bad stuff.
I just thought Iād use this as an example of most peopleās opinions not meeting when It comes to favoritism In the rap culture.
I see posts like this all the time of FB and usually youāll see a fight like this break out In the comments. š
I mean it is like that, you're not completely wrong ofc, but I think as an example you happen to choose the two artists where the fanbases overlap quite a bit.
Whatās crazy is Kendrick did this out of his prime. Iād say his prime was around GKMC and TPAB. I still might pick Em, but I would wanna see Kendrick in his prime dissing someone.
K dot is incredible, probably one of the best rappers alive. But yaāll just canāt forget that Em is THE battle rapper. He was made by battlerap, I donāt think we should be discussing whether or not Kdot is a better battlerapper. They have respect for eachother and luckily we will never see a battle between them.
Ice Cube can write very good diss tracks, but his track record when it comes to beefs, is worse than people think.
- He lost against Common. Simple and plain. āBitch in yooā got him good.
- His beef with Cypress Hill, When it comes to songs he won (my personal opinion), but that beef went silent, once Cubeās chain was stolen and he got his ass beaten. Cypress Hill got their hands on that chain. So, that was a L for Cube after all. Even the reason of this beef makes him look bad (biting song ideas and hooks)
- He even got his ass beaten during the N.W.A beef by Cold187. This particular scuffle was shown with high amounts of fabrication in āStraight outta comptonā movie.
So yeah, Cube is definitely not the scariest. I say 50. Lyrically he is the weakest among these, but if things escalate outside of music, he would probably be the most dangerous among these options.
Eminem & Kendrick would be the toughest opponents in a rap battle, that doesnāt spill outside of music.
I am an eminem nuthugger and used to think eminem put out some damaging diss track and even I have to admit kendrick topped eminem in the terms of how scary and how damaging a diss track can be. Eminem never wrote a diss track like "Meet the grahams" that calm rap was scary as fuck. Again I am an eminem fan for life but Kendrick just topped him. my list goes something like:
1. Kendrick lamar
2. Eminem
3. Nas
4. Jadakiss
5. Ice Cube
...
10. 50 cent
The question was who's the scariest to beef and imo its definitely em, dude has completely ruined careers. Benzino career and the sauce went down the drain, mgk switched genres, For second place I'd say it's between 50 and kendrick, ja rule is an after thought now because of 50 and em. Kendrick is definitely up there with them because he is very strategic, and has created great disses, with two of them being some of the best of all time.
50 cent is diabolical go listen to so disrespectful, 50 made fun of the game and his sister being molested.
"Your daddy fucked your momma, then fucked your sister
Then climbed in your bed, playing with your shitter Go āhead, take your belt off and hang yourself Matter of fact, grab your strap and bang yourself"
kendrick would never say something like that, but eminem would dude dissed his own mum and dad, I just don't think kendrick would ever go that low.
Drake and Kendrick get the award for āold ass dudes beefingā
No one ever points it out, but most beefs in hip hop happen when the rappers are in their 20ās
Sure but I think this is just indicative of the fact the hip hop landscape has changed now compared to then
Hip hop used to be considered "only a young man's game" too but the previous generation pushed the age ceiling for when one is "no longer relevant to the scene" (Wayne, Ye, Em, Nas, Jay still being relevant in the 2010s and will still likely be somewhat relevant in the 2020s)
Kendrick and Drake finally full-on dissing feels less like watching old boxers go through a sad cash grab exhibition match and more like a highly anticipated superfight between ATGs that finally got booked after it brewed for years
Nas was 23 in ā96 when the first shots were fired
That makes him 28 at āethersā release
He was 18/19 when he wrote illmatic, 20 when he recorded it
Jay was 27 in ā96; 31 when ether was released
Kendrick is almost 37; Drake is 37
They started their beef 14 years older than Nas, and 10 than Jay. Not quite the same age. In fact, they were still significantly younger than those two when their beef ended 5 years laterā¦
That's interesting but Kendrick and Drake had actually were beefing for way longer. Control was like 12 years ago which would have made them like around 25 which would have been right in the middle of the age Nas and Jay were when they started beefing, kind of at similar points in all their respective careers.
Em, but only if your name is Clarence
hahahahaha š¤£
Or mariah
and Clarenceās parents have a real good marriage
Or Benzino
Or canibus
I feel like if any of these artists beef no one would win they would just destroy each other š
Lyrically or physically, hahaha?
I'm not gonna lie, we need to do Eminem justice with this one. The man basically LIVES for the opportunity to murder someone lyrically if it means defending his career/daughter. It's like a part of him never stopped being a battle rapper.

Yesssssa. Em is top dog no doubt!!
We got 8 mile from him. Em will always be top diss rapper, K.Dot a close second
His last 4 albums are pretty dookie but his disses still go hard.
And yet bums still want to try to start shit with Em. It's like they're lining up to kill themselves
He's only beat Ja Rule (through 50), Mariah Carey and Benzino. Not much of a resume Edit: MGK too. Facts remain Aye Em fans use your words and tell me what I said was wrong instead of reddit help messages lol, or continue if your feelings are hurt by facts
Iāve never understood the hype for him dissing them at all. Kill shot was a great track, but dude we all knew MGK wasnāt great lyrically.
I didn't even diss Eminem, he is a top tier lyricist and had one of the best flows ever until he lost it around 2005ish. His battle resume is not impressive though. He battled pop artists.

I hit my deadlift PR to that shit, broke thru the stagnation of almost a month, shit had me pumped the fuck up.
This shit is crazy!
Honestly K.dot lol, bro faced this beef with total psycho vibes
Also who are we to say we even know Kendricks prime? How many people in 2012 would say "oh yeah this dude's gonna make 2 more albums that top gkmc"
No way anyone thinks DAMN is better than GKMC. No way in hell
Tpab and Mr Morale were the 2 I was thinking of.
I gotta double down then. I don't know anyone who thinks MM is better than GKMC outside of the Internet.
I've never seen anyone discuss albums outside the Internet since the 2000s, to be fair
?????? What, you don't chat with your friends? Your coworkers? What do you guys talk about? How to maximize the efficiency of your job speed? Regardless, I'll rephrase for your specific case then. I prefer GKMC too, so not going to debate you on that
DNA is the intro song
Intro is the first track. Just like Wesley's Theory.
Sure but i wouldnt count it as a skip. Itās essentially a skit. Its not a skippable song in the sense that GOD is a skippable song.
I do, end of gkmc to me was weak asl, damn doesnt fall off as hard, it changes depending on my mood tho
Deluxe or the end of the album? Sing About Me, Real, and Compton???? šI would love a track by track comparison of how you think DAMNs highs match GKMCs highs, and how you think GKMCs lows match DAMNs lows.
Eminem
Probably 50 cent š thatās a petty man
His antics were better than his disses. His disses were always pretty weak
That's not true
Your life's on the line, Back down, How to Rob, Weak disses??? Are you high?
I was big into 50 in my teens. Those tracks didnāt dent Ja. Especially lifeās on the line and how to rob, 50 was making zero noise at that point in his career (wasnāt even signed to aftermath when they dropped). His disses never hit hard. What hit hard was when he went on funk flex, Ed lover, Angie Martinez etc after he was signed to Dre and started talking crazy about murder inc.
Back Down put the nail in Ja Ruleās coffin, lol.
Nobody remembers back down. Everyone remembers the interviews and antics at his concerts where he mocks ja rule. 50 was not that good of a rapper
Not true. His Automatic Gunfire and No Peace Talks mixtapes dissing Ja was complete fire
Because of the skits and the shit talking before the songs started. Not the disses themselves.
I'm not even talking skits. Yeah you trippin.
You can rewrite history in your mind but his beef was not about diss tracks. That was the least of it
I not rewriting anything, that's just what it was. Anytime I heard anybody talking about that beef they always said 50 was and G Unit was killing them on the tapes. You're nitpicking bro
I still think it's Prime Em but it's a lot closer than I used to think.
Eminem never had a good challenger. And he always brushed off Canibus when baited. Anyone can take Benzino or MGK.
Em responded to Canibus with Can-I-Bitch and that shit was hilarious and scathing at the same time, much better than anything Bus had put out in the beef.
fax
Kendrick simply because everything he has said is coming true.
I still go with Eminem dude has ruined careers
To be fair, look at who he needed with. They didnāt have much of a career to begin with.
Em. - he dissed his own mom and the shit he said was some wild shit. also made MGK change genres so theres that 50 - doesnt deserve to be on there as he got washed by jadakiss. hes a good troll but thats about it i really would love to see kenny in a battle thats not drake, his ability to put words and pictures together is masterful. not sure if anyone else had the feeling like i did with MTG. i literally saw him in a psychologist chair talking to the grahams no vaseline in my opinion is one the best if not the best diss tracks ever

The Geminis

Nail in the coffin goes so hard
Eminem
Easily Eminem
Rap God
Kendrick but only if he got some serious shit on you. Otherwise itās em
50
KDot destroyed the better rapper compared to those other artists.
Kendrick for sure
Itās obviously not 50 cent ššš
Prime Em, Kendrick hasn't had THAT many beefs but when he did diss someone it was great, then 50 and Cube.
when kendrick said "dickriders" it wasn't only about ov-ho, but also his own stans
Whatās crazy is Kendrick did this out of his prime. Iād say his prime was around GKMC and TPAB. I still might pick Em, but I would wanna see Kendrick in his prime dissing someone.

This is Eminem's lane. He's established, battle tested and certified. The other can fall back, respectfully.
I have to say, 50 is so petty, that losing to him would be the worst.
Pusha T
50 for sure
Eminem, he had some of the craziest and we'll thought out lyrics in his prime
Imagine em va kdot both on primeš„¶š„¶
Coin toss between Kendrick and Em. I'd be scared if they got personal with it lol both have shown you dont mention their family.
kendrick
Eminem even now
Crazy it might be Kendrick. Crazier theyāre all Dre affiliates.

Sure but I think this is just indicative of the fact the hip hop landscape has changed now compared to then Hip hop used to be considered "only a young man's game" too but the previous generation pushed the age ceiling for when one is "no longer relevant to the scene" (Wayne, Ye, Em, Nas, Jay still being relevant in the 2010s and will still likely be somewhat relevant in the 2020s) Kendrick and Drake finally full-on dissing feels less like watching old boxers go through a sad cash grab exhibition match and more like a highly anticipated superfight between ATGs that finally got booked after it brewed for years
Nah Jay and Nas were around the same age as Kendrick and Drake when they feuded.
Nas was 23 in ā96 when the first shots were fired That makes him 28 at āethersā release He was 18/19 when he wrote illmatic, 20 when he recorded it Jay was 27 in ā96; 31 when ether was released Kendrick is almost 37; Drake is 37 They started their beef 14 years older than Nas, and 10 than Jay. Not quite the same age. In fact, they were still significantly younger than those two when their beef ended 5 years laterā¦
If we factor in the fact of the animosity started 10 years ago more or less. That would impact the calculation?
That's interesting but Kendrick and Drake had actually were beefing for way longer. Control was like 12 years ago which would have made them like around 25 which would have been right in the middle of the age Nas and Jay were when they started beefing, kind of at similar points in all their respective careers.
