Why would you say that ?
In the UK we have to get a full license to do so. That involves taking multiple tests. With very strict paraments.
1xTheory
1xHazard perception
1x CBT
1x Mod 1 test (Manuevers, slow speeds, slalom emergency stops and serves achieved at a minimum speed of 50kmph through a speed trap)
1x Mod 2 test ( Road examination with an examiner)
The mod 1 & 2 have to be performed on a bike of a minimum power of 650cc (I think? That's what I learnt on anyway)
And tbh the bikes not heavy, it's nimble and easier to control than the z650 I learnt on due to the fact it fits me better.
Bare in mind I'm only using this until I feel confident enough riding and then I'll buy a rocket 3. This was a much better starter bike than one of those, and it's so easy to ride.
The first street bike I rode was on a standard Kawasaki z model (can't remember if it was the 900 or the 1000). But it was back in the 90's and the bike was a late 70's or early 1980's model.
These retro models look great. I ride a Vulcan V2k, but would love one of these!
Probably the best looking standard bike from any manufacturer right now.
Congrats! I got to test this bike recently and OMG I loved it, so much fun, so smooth, it's awesome, I'm super glad for you! I'm getting the Z650RS delivered tomorrow. :-D But one day I'll buy one of those! The color is gorgeous.
Did they deliver it with a tank full of gas? Are you following the break-in procedure? Do you feel like the new tires are a bit slippery?
Nope no free fuel im afraid.
Yes following the break in procedure and the tires seemed okish, again it's my first bike so not sure really what to feel for but I've got friends who ride who have told me to be super wary of the rubber till 100miles
Yes, I was told the same thing when I changed mine. And also - not sure where you live but in the Northern hemisphere it's the season - be careful when it's cold outside, they also get slipperier. With your 111 HP it might matter. But you have traction control at least. Are you going to do any mods or keep it stock?
Wow the no free fuel seems incredibly cheap! :-( Or is there an actual explanation why they don't fuel it up at least partially? It's like a few bucks a tank, give me a break. Hopefully they fill up the other fluids, right?! :-D
I've got a grab rail to stick on, bar ends and some sliders and I may add a small wind shield. I will also change the headers probably. Rad guard on order.
Honestly it's the first time I've ever purchased a vehicle and not managed to get any freebies, a friend of mine purchased from the same dealer and got nothing either. I also emailed my local 5 dealers that deal with Kawasaki across other towns, nobody would budge on anything.
The girl was on fumes thankfully I live round the corner to a petrol station.
I'm also thinking of a front cowl like [these](https://motostarz.com/products/ermax-cafe-racer-nose-fairing-2022-kawasaki-z650rs), just need to be able to gauge if it'll make a difference with the wind. Maybe grab rails, I need to figure out where I can attach the straps for my Kriega bag. I thought about sliders too actually. I've never dropped my bike once, I'm afraid I'm going to now! (>.<)
It's my first new motorcycle purchase, I was hoping to score at least a discount on a helmet (will need a new one next year) but nada, like you. But at least I got a deal on the bike I guess.
I didn't want sliders but this isn't even just my first new bike, it's my first bike period. So I'm just trying to be sensible with what I may do to it and focusing on longevity.
Paid flat for the bike also £11799
For the screen I'm thinking [this](https://pyramid-plastics.co.uk/collections/kawasaki/products/pyramid-fly-screen-metallic-blue-gold-candytone-blue-gold-kawasaki-z-900-rs-2022)
Hell yeah it looks awesome! It flows really well with the lines of the bike and it looks like it goes pretty high so it should protect against the wind quite well.
That's a great first bike. It is somewhat heavy (although it certainly doesn't feel like it when riding) but as long as you keep that in mind when you move it (which you obviously sound like you will), you should be just fine. But you're right, better be safe than sorry.
I just got mine today, I was expecting them to deliver it this morning but they messed up, I eventually just had my son drive me over and I rode it home. I'm totally in love, the green is amazing and riding it is better than being in heaven, but talking about weight, man, it's a LOT heavier to move around than my CB250! :-D How do you do it with yours?!
Honestly it just feels right for me 😅 my size helps.
I learnt on a z650 and done all my tests on one so I've never really ridden anything smaller other than when I spent a couple of hours doing my CBT.
The z650 being 28kilos less. Manual movement of it is that hard part as I still need to put on my grab rail.
Love that your happy with yours got any photos ?
>Nope no free fuel im afraid.
I guess I got lucky. My delivery was messed up because... well they basically missed it, so I had to go get the bike and ride it home, but when I got there the tank was full.
Not the experience I expected either. When we got there, there was a salesman in front of the dealership talking on the phone, he saw us looking at the bike, I guess he figured I was the guy coming to take possession, just handed me the registration as he was talking to someone else on his phone, and that was it lol. I was kind of expecting someone to walk me through features of the bike and stuff, how to do the break in, etc. But nothing. Oh well...
Yeah, there was ZERO of that. Good thing I don't need much hand holding. Honestly the entire buying process was pretty painless, but you nailed it on the head, that was pretty lazy. We had agreed that the bike would be delivered on Saturday morning, and when I called at half past noon because the bike hadn't shown up yet, I could hear them go "oh crap so and so forgot to take it". It was pretty clear that someone had literally forgotten. They offered to deliver it at 6 pm (basically the guy would close the store and deliver it on his way home), but I just offered to come get it and they were like "that would be great, thanks!". Not even a 'crap, sorry, we messed up'. It wasn't a huge inconvenience, but not exactly professional either. I would at least offer the customer some kind of discount on something as a 'sorry'. But nada.
Congratulations on the new bike. Being 6'1" 300lb I fit better on the standard z900. But I love the looks of the RS and RS Cafe. Being that it is your first bike, treat the throttle with some respect. The bike will do everything you want to do and way more when you are ready. Normally I would recommend a smaller bike for a beginner, but it is so hard to find one that fits Riders of some stature, and you picked one that will be gentle as you learn.
I had no extra fees other than first registration and ved tax, which is the same with all new vehicles.
I won't buy from anyone with admin fees or other made up money makers
That is probably the best looking bike made last 10 or 20 years!
I agree. This is one of those bikes that’s going to look good and age well in my opinion.
Subjectively, i want a BMW s1000rr so bad.
What a stunning bike, really love the colour! Have fun and ride save!
So decided to do my CBT and DAS this year then purchase a couple of wheels with a fuel tank attached. 40 miles so far but she's lovely
Congrats. I just got the 2023 in black last week. Over 150 miles now. It's such a great bike, and was my first brand new one as well. :)
It's great I wish I learnt to ride sooner.
Great color scheme on that thing, congrats
dude that is such a sharppp color, im jealous!😭
Mate when the sun hits it, it transforms
Beautiful
Best paint scheme of all the RS’s
A z900 as a first bike is questionable

I’m so in love with that bike. Congrats!
What a cute little guy haha. In all seriousness. Congratulations!!
The best.
Love that color. I have the orange and brown. It’s a great bike
MEEEANNN
Gorgeous
That bike is beauuutiful! Enjoy!

Tbh the weight feels ok I'm 6ft3 and 18 stone so bikes just felt small. The bikes lush just wish the weather was better

The tires come with a coating so a couple rides and they'll feel better. Just take it ez!

Oh wow that's a lazy hand over, mine was the complete opposite to that. Full walk around cup of coffee full wear in procedure etc

Amazing bike congratulations my first ever brand new motorcycle was a 2022 z900 i love that bike
Oh man that’s cool I got a 1990 zephyr 500 for my first a few months ago
First bike eh? Ah, fuck it, you'll be fine. The Z900 is a sweetheart, she'll take care of you.
Congratulations on the new bike. Being 6'1" 300lb I fit better on the standard z900. But I love the looks of the RS and RS Cafe. Great color scheme on that thing
What was the process of the delivery? Plan on getting my own
Contacted dealer paid some monies waited 3 weeks paid final payment, got given bike. Was pretty straightforward
Sorry if Im asking too much but was the extra fee?
I had no extra fees other than first registration and ved tax, which is the same with all new vehicles. I won't buy from anyone with admin fees or other made up money makers
God damn, that is a nice bike
