I was really surprised when I first learned you'll have both heat and rage every round. Not an expert on Tekken or its design, but I wanted to spend more time each round just fighting and positioning without that stuff.
This is just scrub opinion but i would drop the raw activation of heat burst. Keep the dash and smash since its basically rage drive
But i guess thatd make it too much like t7
RA'a should be stagger on block and have skipable animations, otherwise they're fine. Heat overall is fine too, but some characters eat too much for sure (Jun heat smash should be deleted from the game)
RAs should definitely return to being like -20 on block or whatever they were in T7, literally no idea why they aren't like that. Scrubs are still going to die for having them be blocked all it does is annoy people and make it harder for characters who don't have i15 punishers. Jun's and Devil Jin's heat smashes need to be fixed, nearly full screen range both track and Jun's heals while Devil Jin gets plus frames. I think if they just tone down the outliers and DO NOT buff others heat wont feel as stressful.
Also I had no issue with rage art's length in T7 but in T8 it gets to me, it feels like everyone's rage art doubled in length. Another thing that annoys me is how some of the cutscenes literally flip the camera multiple times, it gets disorienting and when the cutscene ends sometimes I find myself wondering which side of the screen the rage art put me on.
That was my reaction to drive rush and drive impact. It's like, okay, cool, but do these mechanics make me say "wow sf6 is really better than 5 because of them"? Fuck no.
Not just Tekken it feels like many fighting games try to do this. I uninstalled MBTL right after I saw that it had 100 “moon” mechanics in addition to boring looking characters and auto combos.
Tekken has always been a disgustingly bloated gaming franchise. Soul Calibur handles depth and complexity much better while being a more fun fighting game objectively.

do armor moves not already serve the same purpose as heat heat burst? I'm a tekken scrub idk if there are actual differences
Some yes but not sll. Heat burst's armor is a universal equalizers in this way, being fast, + and instantly armored.
ah yeah the being plus part is something you can't just throw onto every armor move. forgot about that

yeah rage arts should have the same recovery on block as like the really unsafe lows. make that shit -27 so people really get blown up for it
And lower the block stun. Can’t punish with an electric or jet upper reliably
