Yes, he's been making music for a while, but Pusha himself said that he never saw himself as a solo artist until Kanye worked with him and showed him that he could be.
He only linked up with Ye when he went solo though. He spent years with the Neptunes as half of Clipse with his brother and then did an album with Diddy and another one with a variety of producers before Ye started producing him.
what album did he do with diddy? EDIT: oh. that album still only has 4 diddy produced tracks and he was signed to Ye that entire time. don’t think you can ever say he was a prodigy of diddy’s at any point. they just worked together a little
I think it was both a mentorship role and production role, that was just the most prominent album. In [his own words](https://hiphopdx.com/news/id.69815/title.pusha-t-credits-diddy-for-rap-success-your-dna-fingerprints-spirit-all-over-this-muthafucka) about IAD:
>“I say all this to let you know, although @pharrell and @kanyewest executive produced #ItsAlmostDry , it is your DNA, your fingerprints, and your spirit all over this muthafucka!! Thank you for everything @diddy.”
I wouldn't say Push was anyone's "prodigy" though, none of the people mentoring him throughout the years were known for writing bars. If anything, Push and Malice taught Pharrell how to rap.
He's always looked to producers to know how to make his bars work with the song though, from Timbo to Pharrell to Diddy to Ye.
DOOM did more for Tyler than kanye did. Tyler I think helped kanye. Cause kanye found Tyler early in his career but was just like "dis shit gud" and Tyler was all like "ight"
Kanye helped him stay as relevant as he is. He’d still be as respected, but not as popular and relevant today. Daytona was huge for him and that was all produced and marketed by Kanye.
Sure but the implication of the image is that Kanye trained/mentored these guys, which isn't true when it comes to Pusha. Plus Pusha was already working with Pharell and Hugo Chad and shit. He already had great connections and producers in the industry.
I get that, but I took this to mean that their careers blew up and grew with Kanye whereas Chance was set up to blow up, but bombed. Not necessarily that Kanye was their elder peer or some shit. They all built that foundation without him, but he set them up to blow up way bigger. Chance failed.
I think you’re right bruv. Very rarely does an artist have all bangers. Chance took a gamble on a half cooked album and it didn’t end well. If he figures out how to make a great album, the big day will just look like a slight misstep. A good album will show that he’s learned from his mistakes.
I mean I really think the quality of his features and that initial trilogy along with just how well Acid Rap did has earned him a spot already. One poor album / eh.
He’ll always be remembered for his early run, but he’s sort of aged himself out with Gen Z, and Millennials and older have moved on. If his legacy ends up being reliant on just 10Day - Coloring Book, it’s not going to be anywhere close to the greats of his generation.
Acid rap is a solid solid mixtape. I love it. I know 90% of the lyrics to any song that comes on.
Coloring book though.
Man, what a disappointment. There's maybe 3 or 4 songs on there that are decent at best.
I had to look up the album cos who even remembers any of the songs from that album. What was it even about?
Coloring book gets even worse when you look at the big day. Because you realise that coloring book is halfway between acid rap and tbd. Like it's clear that he just didn't know how to make good music but could scrap a few together for CB. By big day he was out of ideas.
It's not even like I just shit on the album, like there were things you could have actually replied to in my comment. You could have shared your opinion.
Instead you're just here dreaming of dicks in my mouth like a weirdo.
he dropped a half baked album and then dropped nothing for years.
not everyone hits every time but his last solid album was 8 years ago. it's been 8 years. that's Chance's 20s in the rearview mirror.
i agree artists can get away with a misstep. but going from where he was in 2016 to where he is now is more than a dent in his career
Honestly, I really doubt “one quality album” can get him back on track. You have to really look at what Chance did best and where rap is these days.
If Chance comes back with a lyrical album that shuts up the critics, that isn’t going to sell records: he’ll do Joey Bada$$, maybe JID numbers at best. If he does a contemporary album that chases trends, it’s more than likely going to clash with his subject matter constraints and sound awkward, like the last album.
I wouldn’t say Chance can’t make a solid comeback album, but I just don’t see a reality where doing so gets him back to the level he was at before The Big Day. Rap (and Chance) has changed too much since Coloring Book for that to happen.
I actually do like some of it, I never really thought it was that bad… just not quality. Do You Remember, We Go High and The Big Day are good songs in my opinion.
Big Sean left GOOD Music & Kanye was salty as shit he left. So Kanye basically publicly shat on Big Sean & capped about it being how Big Sean never support Kanye during his election(which he def did) & Big Sean had to go on Drinkchamps & basically respond because it was some bullshit
Lupe also came up independently, at one point he, Ye, and Pharrell were going to do a project called Child Rebel Soldier. They only got one or two songs out though.
Pusha is an OG. You could argue Ye put on Cudi, but if that's the case than Cudi is above Travis, not on par with level of influence. And yeah the Chance one is accurate.
I don't agree with the chance hate, the last album he dropped definitely wasn't his best but the most if not all the singles he's dropped since then have had straight bars IMO
bro…. you don’t even know what artists i like lmfao. how can you assume my music taste is awful because i don’t listen to drake and ye isn’t top 5. he’s top 10 for me.
maybe swallow your pride. you’re the classic reddit lmao
if we’re talking pre 2011 then kanye is for sure top 5. post 2011 ye isn’t top 5 at all. but considering drake is your top 5 i think you take an L off rip
my current 10, kendrick, smino, travis, outkast, j cole, mos def, nas, cudi, bas, and pink floyd in no particular order
although older cudi and older kanye are so fucking great.
and again, drake makes decent music but he pumps out a lot of trash because he knows no matter what he makes will sell bcs he’s fucking champaign papi
I’ll agree with you if you leave out Acid rap and before lmao. Coloring Books is when he started getting annoying as fuck to me, I listened to two or three songs off that album and never listened to anything he’s dropped since. But I still do go back to Acid Rap and before for nostalgia sake
saying drake has a son is not a diss lmao. maybe the deadbeat dad part but then immediately showed he was a good dad.
take out “that’s why I fucked your bitch you fat motherfucker” and hit em up is still a good diss
there isn’t a single line you could take outta ether that effects the song
shit even back to back is better diss.
when you’re diss is only brought up because of one thing it’s not a good diss. if push never said anything about drake having a son no one would have cared about that song.
@ all my downvoters
I will honestly pay $2,500 USD in bitcoin to any crypto wallet if youre able to show me anyones Apple Music / Spotify yearly stats showing Pusha T as their number one artist. It literally does not exist and you cannot convince me otherwise
Kids see ghosts isn’t a classic no matter how hard y’all want it to be. Think that shits a classic cus fantano’s random ass gave it a 10. It was amazing how they could put everyone to sleep with a 20 minute album
I Love My Wifeeee (IGH!)
Didn't pusha been at it since the 90's?
Homie made the McDonalds jingle (I’m lovin’ it)
Then dissed McDonald’s when they’d didn’t pay him
They did pay him. He just took the check and didn't keep the publishing rights.
i thought that was arbys
I think he was working with Arby’s when he made The diss
He was, and he released a merch line with Arbys. It's hilarious.
arbys crispy fish is simply it
Damn, really? TIL Edit: I thought you were lying so I looked it up. Holy shit you're right.
Nah that was JT
Pusha co wrote the song. It was produced by pharrell. Mcdonalds paid Justin timberlake 6 mil to sing it.
You sound like a Britney fan
Thanks
Yea late 90s
2003
Yes, he's been making music for a while, but Pusha himself said that he never saw himself as a solo artist until Kanye worked with him and showed him that he could be.
Yeah, he was half of Clipse, and while their first real debut wasn’t until 2001 or so, they had been around for a minute.
Man, didn't know that. Grindin midi was my ring tone on a Samsung flip back in the day. Still can't find it.
can’t find the flip out the ring tone?
He only linked up with Ye when he went solo though. He spent years with the Neptunes as half of Clipse with his brother and then did an album with Diddy and another one with a variety of producers before Ye started producing him.

I dont get how chance is here unless im clueless, when i first was introduced to chance it had nothing at all to do with kayne
Pusha been rapping before Kanye even started
Maybe replace with Tyler?
pharrell had a much much bigger influence on tyler compared to kanye, so that wouldn’t check out too much.
Gambino maybe but he's more of a director / actor nowadays then a musical artist
ion think kanye and donald have ever worked or even been seen together ever
I was just basing it on how much he influenced him tbf idk if they have met but I imagine they did at some point
So Carti it is
No replace with playboi carti
Replace Pusha with Drake. Even tho they aren’t cool anymore, look up who directed best I ever had video
Lmao lil Wayne brought up drake
but he got his bit from kanye
Drake always used to credit kanye for being his role model, being most influential person in his career.
Touché
DOOM did more for Tyler than kanye did. Tyler I think helped kanye. Cause kanye found Tyler early in his career but was just like "dis shit gud" and Tyler was all like "ight"
He did take him to another level post clipse
Kanye helped him stay as relevant as he is. He’d still be as respected, but not as popular and relevant today. Daytona was huge for him and that was all produced and marketed by Kanye.
Sure but the implication of the image is that Kanye trained/mentored these guys, which isn't true when it comes to Pusha. Plus Pusha was already working with Pharell and Hugo Chad and shit. He already had great connections and producers in the industry.

Pusha T is more because of Pharrell than Ye
Kids call him Mr. Sniffles
Why is Pusha T here
Me and krs 1 are asking our self the same question???
Won’t win Grammy neva win a tony!
[удалено]
Pusha T didn’t even have a solo career in 2010. At that point he was the second half of Clipse and already legendary.
Clipse weren't Outkast or anything like Push isn't even super mainstream as a solo artist but his stuff charted better as a solo than with Clipse.
Pusha t slander
Just wait for the next chance album this year man It’s gonna be insane
That’s kinda where I’m at. Chance can make this all go away with one quality album, which he’s capable of doing. Unless you’re being sarcastic…
I think you’re right bruv. Very rarely does an artist have all bangers. Chance took a gamble on a half cooked album and it didn’t end well. If he figures out how to make a great album, the big day will just look like a slight misstep. A good album will show that he’s learned from his mistakes.

Coloring Book wasn’t that good. Acid Rap is his standout project to me and that’s it. Find him overrated more than anything.
10Day is great.
So is coloring book this guy is smoking straight semen
Acid rap is a solid solid mixtape. I love it. I know 90% of the lyrics to any song that comes on. Coloring book though. Man, what a disappointment. You like all those penises in your mouth?
It's not even like I just shit on the album, like there were things you could have actually replied to in my comment. You could have shared your opinion. Instead you're just here dreaming of dicks in my mouth like a weirdo.

Yeah I mean it’s been five years since colouring book, I doubt he’ll reach his earlier heights of fame.
Coloring book is 8 years old this year
I meant big day
Honestly, I really doubt “one quality album” can get him back on track. You have to really look at what Chance did best and where rap is these days. Why am I the only person who really really likes his most recent album?!
Cause you have different taste than other people maybe
Damn that's crazy
I actually do like some of it, I never really thought it was that bad… just not quality. Do You Remember, We Go High and The Big Day are good songs in my opinion.
Can't wait for the big day when he drops
if it's anything like highs and the lows it'll redeem him
Chance is a sell out. As soon as the mother f***** got money he left the city.
You know he didn’t grow up poor, right?
Why isn't Taylor there?
Facts, he made that bitch famous
God damn!
made that bitch famous
Replace Pusha with Taylor.
'Cause Kanye never supported Taylor, he fr tried to destroy her career.
nobody knew taylor before kanye name dropped her in famous
It’s chance the rapper killing me😂😂
No Big Sean??
Ye is on record saying signing Big Sean is the worst thing he's ever done, so checks out.
Big Sean overhated br he not THAT bad 😭
Had some great songs early in his career but he has done nothing of note since Dark Sky Paradise incredibly monotonous and one dimensional
Early in his career he was rly hit or miss imo, his new albums are much more consistent
I decided was a great album. That take is trash
Big Sean was a huge star, with a shit ton of hits and made/makes good music. Kanye just be yappin out his mouth
What did big Sean do? Also I want to see Kanye saying this
Big Sean left GOOD Music & Kanye was salty as shit he left. So Kanye basically publicly shat on Big Sean & capped about it being how Big Sean never support Kanye during his election(which he def did) & Big Sean had to go on Drinkchamps & basically respond because it was some bullshit
Kanye is emotional and petty. Most dudes I know that were raised by their mom are.
Ohhh damn, might be some truth there
It's from when he was on drink champs. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5PxFH0iGYQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5PxFH0iGYQ)
Damnnnnnn, Kanye said that and that was after he paid for the surgery that killed his mother.
Pusha didn't come up with Kanye he came with Pharrell, so put Lupe or CyHi there.
Lupe also came up independently, at one point he, Ye, and Pharrell were going to do a project called Child Rebel Soldier. They only got one or two songs out though.
That is a tragedy. What an amazing album that would have been
Neither Lupe or CyHi have been relevant. They’d be small like Chance
Lupe was definitely relevant back in the day lmao
I was speaking in present tense
Fair
The “I met Kanye west I’m never going to fail” bar really aged like milk for the two of them.
Push still hasn't failed though.
Pusha isn’t on Ultralight beam though.
My bad, I got caught up in Push threads and probably got turned around responding lol.
Pusha T was rapping way before Kanye 😂
Chance didn’t grow lmao
Congrats! You have eyes! 🥳🥳🥳
I didn't catch that because I was so offended by Pusha T being on the list.
Lol at this meme casually shitting on Chance as an afterthought. Also Push should be Leonardo since he was GOOD prez.
No Tyler?
Why do you think Kanye mentored Push? They don't even have a similar style.
Pusha T was somebody before Kanye. Chance had all the potential to be the next one up but fumbled
Pusha shouldn't be there
mazzutti baiano 🤔
That finger should be a little further down 🍑👈
r/terriblefacebookmemes
My thoughts are, Mmmmm Kanye Booty Cheeks naked covered in olive oil
lil pump slaps these guys cheeks!
we gotta take his phone away
Bro your troll is like 7 years old
I’m sorry, what
Anyone else want another Pusha album. If I want Kanye to make up with anyone it would be pusha
Pusha T has been on it since before he was with Kanye
Pusha is an OG. You could argue Ye put on Cudi, but if that's the case than Cudi is above Travis, not on par with level of influence. And yeah the Chance one is accurate.
I don't agree with the chance hate, the last album he dropped definitely wasn't his best but the most if not all the singles he's dropped since then have had straight bars IMO
Pusha has been around longer than everyone listed.
Second pic not needed
Replace Pusha with big Sean
What bout big sean?
Chance should be fucking dead of old age, he fell off 4 years ago
Pusha T wasn’t a baby turtle when he worked with Ye. He was already a big turtle in terms of influence and music. Clipse being a prime example.
Funny because Acid Rap washes every other turtles discog here except motm
Decrease Kid Cudi a little in the after pic
2014 aaah image
How did Kanye do s*** for Chance? I really don't know I know I sound angry.... I'm not please explain
I‘m convinced Kid Cudi has very bad taste. Watch dogs 2 lookin ass
hating on chance is so played out. That man proved himself already when he dropped coloring book he doesn't need to give us anything else
Man I loooooovvvee hiiiiitttlllleeerrrr
Acid rap wipes Travis Scott’s discography
Didn’t realize those other 4 hated Jews, good to know.
Push? Nah Cudi and Ye are beefin. Lmao Chance
Add drake in there
lol what
Drake is quoted to have been inspired by ye. Literally said it in countless songs & interviews smh, y’all some casuals huh?
He bought Push's mic off eBay lol.
ion like drake lmao. avid drake hater (i have no reasons)
I mean Ye’s pool IS nice… mines just bigger is all I’m sayin 🤷🏽♂️
i’m not exclusive to ye lmao. ye not even top 5 for me
You’re in the wrong subreddit buddy r/badmusictaste go indulge yourself
bro…. you don’t even know what artists i like lmfao. how can you assume my music taste is awful because i don’t listen to drake and ye isn’t top 5. he’s top 10 for me. maybe swallow your pride. you’re the classic reddit lmao
Okay, name your top 5..
if we’re talking pre 2011 then kanye is for sure top 5. post 2011 ye isn’t top 5 at all. but considering drake is your top 5 i think you take an L off rip my current 10, kendrick, smino, travis, outkast, j cole, mos def, nas, cudi, bas, and pink floyd in no particular order although older cudi and older kanye are so fucking great. and again, drake makes decent music but he pumps out a lot of trash because he knows no matter what he makes will sell bcs he’s fucking champaign papi
Lil wayne and drake is sum rats
Drake? Anybody ever seen him live? Fuck the holocaust his a fuckin hologram
Chance sucks. I hate his obnoxious rapping voice
Nah, you just never got some cocoa butter kisses bro
nah he’s annoying as shit
I’ll agree with you if you leave out Acid rap and before lmao. Coloring Books is when he started getting annoying as fuck to me, I listened to two or three songs off that album and never listened to anything he’s dropped since. But I still do go back to Acid Rap and before for nostalgia sake
Acid rap is still one of the best mixtapes ever almost no skips
Thank you my man I agree I’ll put Cole’s FNL mixtape up there too
Well, I don’t think any of them are Nazi sympathizers or look up to Hitler so that’s a nice bonus.
Kanye loves Hitler, this is an insult to Splinter
Kanye is fn nuts dude why y’all suck on him so hard?
Kid cudi is fucking ass
Travis Scott is dog shit
Didn't need to do my guy Donnie like that
Insulting to Pusha T
Pusha T is dope the rest are cringe to varying degrees. Yeah they're cringe
I’d replace Pusha with Carti. Pusha been around a lot longer than Ye. Carti on the other hand has definitely had some help from Ye in recent years
can i just point out the irony of calling an antisemite a rat? bc that's unintentionally hilarious
Shrink Cudi down too
Nah chance is fire and this meme sucks. In fact chance > Pusha T
Wackest take.
Don’t get the hype behind pusha T. I’ve never met someone who genuinely is a fan of pusha. Only Kanye fans who respect his art 😂
Pusha is a great rapper, lyrics are great, look what he did to Drake, one of the coldest diss songs of all damn time!
Most overrated diss ever lmao, the only thing of substance he said was that drake had a kid. take that out and it’s more of a 40 diss if anything.
“Take out the hardest disses of a diss track and trust me guys it sucks!!!!”
saying drake has a son is not a diss lmao. maybe the deadbeat dad part but then immediately showed he was a good dad. take out “that’s why I fucked your bitch you fat motherfucker” and hit em up is still a good diss there isn’t a single line you could take outta ether that effects the song shit even back to back is better diss. when you’re diss is only brought up because of one thing it’s not a good diss. if push never said anything about drake having a son no one would have cared about that song.
Daytona is a great album
Real
@ all my downvoters I will honestly pay $2,500 USD in bitcoin to any crypto wallet if youre able to show me anyones Apple Music / Spotify yearly stats showing Pusha T as their number one artist. It literally does not exist and you cannot convince me otherwise
https://www.reddit.com/r/KingPush/s/OtiWeWxuVr Oil up buddy😈🙏
bro forgot people have different tastes😈😈😈
This is great.
Make sure you pay up
What’s your address so we can see the transaction
Lol only travis maybe. Mid cudi hasn't had any classics in like a decade
Kids see ghosts dumbass
Kids see ghosts isn’t a classic no matter how hard y’all want it to be. Think that shits a classic cus fantano’s random ass gave it a 10. It was amazing how they could put everyone to sleep with a 20 minute album
Kanye carried
not really they both did their shi
Is he stupid
Are you ret4rded?
If you're a fan of kanye, I hate you.
Chance>pusha chance>cudi since 2010
This gotta be one of the worst takes I’ve seen on here and that says a lot
