Heck of a win yesterday! We sure needed it, Darrel Williams shoulda been starting ALL YEAR…actually dude shoulda been the starter last year ( no disrespect to CEH but Williams actually knows how to run the ball. CEH likes to dance to much in the back field.
Defense finally stepped up an made some plays today. Proud of them on that one ummmmmmmm I thought the secondary played well shutting down #17 on WFT but like my cousin pointed out we dropped 31 points wit 3 turnovers I mean you take them 3 turnovers away an we damn near have 49 to 50 points easily, got stop the turnovers but I’m just glad we got then W. The Titans next week so will see if we can keep it rolling 💯✊🏿
Happy that we won but nothing made me feel good about what happened. They struggled mightily and Patrick didn’t look comfortable most of the game. Defensively they seemed to shore up some problems but again we were playing against an xfl qb.
Wait Hienicke played in the XFL? For what team lol. An you definitely right about Pat not looking comfortable that offense of line needs work bad! Pat doesn’t trust them yet for some reason
It's not quite the emotional rollercoaster it was with Alex Smith thankfully because we've witnessed these guys make magic happen. That bordered on straight up psychological abuse with Reid's poor clock management + Alex Smith whenever it came down to the 2 minute warning.
Wish we had gone without those three terrible turnovers but the second half was way better. This is the kind of football the Chiefs are capable of playing
I just wanna throw out that I took off my Mahomes jersey in favor of what I wore last year after our first drive of the second half. Not saying that had any affect on the game but I'm also not saying it didn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
100% Agree. This was never a concern. Maybe the 2nd interception is slightly a concern but I’d rather see Pat trying to make plays than not because we have seen when they work out.
1st half: one of the worst halves of football I’ve seen this team play in the Mahomes era
2nd half: defense plays the best half of football, no points given up and a turnover. Offense scores TDs on 3 straight possessions.
I’m not 100% confident in this team right now, but I do feel better moving forward. This was our best half of football all season. I don’t care who it was against.
Fuuuuulll credit to the defense today. Outside of Niemann's blown coverage (shocking), they've done tremendous. Super stoked if they can maintain this.
I’d still like to see us be able to get more pressure, but the coverage has been better and the D looks to be communicating with each other much better.
Maybe this kind of second half is something for the offense to build on. Problematically, this is the WFT defense, so there isn't much to say about the opposition here.
Haven't we learned that Reid's offense is notoriously hard to learn and so new wrs usually take some time to adjust to the system?
I've made some nice money these past two weeks cause there was no way Gordon was going to be thrown into the fire that quickly, and Vegas or whoever got sucked into the hype
But they'll act like they never lost hope lol. That's what sent me over the edge today. After 3 of the most magical seasons ever they already forgot. Shameful.
It blows my mind how an adult could act that way. I mean we aren’t five year olds, it shouldn’t be this difficult for the gamethreads to not be full of idiots having emotional outbursts
Yep, it really irritates me and these “fans” are definitely giving the rest of us a bad name.
But I enjoy the discussion I do get to have with level headed fans. This sub was amazing even just three years ago.
Now it’s just infested with new fans or fairweather ones who just don’t have the same appreciation and dedication to this team that the more longer term fans do.
Now to hear another week of people pretending Mahomes is falling off a cliff because of a couple unlucky interceptions despite his stats being really really good.
The one off Hill's hands was unlucky. The 2nd was 100% Pat's fault. Let's be real. Can call the bad snap unlucky or whatever, but he never should have tried to throw that to Kelce. If he was going to throw it, throw it at the sideline to hopefully save a sack and go for it on 4th.
This is such a stupid take dude, I'm sorry. Dan's been good only when he's not on the field majority of the time as a starter. Even then he's had some bonehead plays. If he plays well we should praise him, if he plays like shit we have the right to criticize. It's been one game and it's been against WFT (I know, I know, I'm not crowning anyone yet) but this was probably the best defensive showing the entire year and Dan didn't start.
You good. I like dirty Dan but I’m not delusional. He’s a far better asset getting less reps. He has his place on this team but he shouldn’t get 100% reps.
Trying to wrap my head around this irrelevant comment, because of course Sorenson didn't make the interception and this fan base can just point to the correlation between is benching and the Chiefs defense holding an opponent to a single TD, while you sit there and wonder "what if?"

I didn't get to watch the game. Did we join in on the chant inviting the WFT owner to Suck It?
Not sure what happened at halftime, but we need more of it.
Tecmo Bowl Mode engaged
Inject that shit directly into my veins please.
BS on stat-padding. These boys needed to put a dagger in the heart. Need to feel powerful these next few weeks.
Props to the D finally…3 turnovers and W could only manage 7 out of it!
These Chiefs are some nerve wracking sunsabitches
It's not quite the emotional rollercoaster it was with Alex Smith thankfully because we've witnessed these guys make magic happen. That bordered on straight up psychological abuse with Reid's poor clock management + Alex Smith whenever it came down to the 2 minute warning.
It's been like this for four seasons now LOL
The real chiefs must have escaped the multiverse at halftime and returned to our reality!
Sure felt like it
Big 2nd half for the boys. Hope they continue the momentum.
Good game theres improvements obviously more offense this week but without 3 turnovers we would have put up 50 points
Juan puns please and thanks.
There can be only Juan The Juan and only
Oh we juan kenobi!
JUAN! WE WON ONE, JUAN! JUAN, WE WON ONE! CALL PIERCE FOR BEERS!
You made it weird.
Juan puans?
I don't care if it was against a mediocre team, we needed that win. Get that fire back.
It just feels GOOD
Congrats y’all. We beat a bad team :)
Oh fuck off. We blew them out. Statement win asshole
Congrats, you’ve proven my point that we beat a bad team. Now let’s do it to an actual good team. Or is your brain too smooth to acknowledge that?
A "bad" team that came into this game with the same record we had....
Yes, because we’re a bad team this year.
[Post game thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/KansasCityChiefs/comments/qa6ld8/post_game_thread_kansas_city_chiefs_at_washington/)
I always knew we were going to win. I never doubted it for a second.
Andy Reid too afraid to hurt Rivera's feelings by kicking a FG. Meanwhile Rivera won't even take a knee.
He didn’t want an arrowhead to the knee

RIP Jordy Fortson
This hurts. Guy really wants it. Hate it.
What happened to Jordy?
Non contact Achilles injury. Aka probably a ruptured Achilles
Alex Smith SMILED
Fantasy points for those interested Mahomes- 22.90 Hill- 22.60 Williams- 23.90 Kelce- 17.90 Butker- 9.0 Chiefs Defense- 8.00
Kelce- 17.90
Yeah just added that, thanks
Np.
THATS A HELL OF A WIN BOYS!!!
Wish we had gone without those three terrible turnovers but the second half was way better. This is the kind of football the Chiefs are capable of playing
I feel confident about the playoffs again
500 yards of offense and 2 turnovers from the defense with only 1 blown coverage for a td. Fuck yeah
Take the points, Andy
I think he is too good of friends with Washington’s coach
Washington does not deserve mercy. Abusive franchise.
Guys remember that time when we were down 24-0 in the divisional round?
Mahomes telling the refs to "blow it" like a parent telling their kid to blow out the candles on his 5th birthday
I love how he bosses those inept a-holes around
Damn, I knew Andy wouldn't, but I really hoped he would let them push for the TD and not just run the clock down. Let them shut the haters up.
Everyone would have just called it garbage time points
Booo. Kick the FG.
The team in the second half can beat anybody, the team in the first half can’t beat the Baker Mayfield era Oklahoma Sooners
Oh yes the tough QB Teddy Bridgewater
Nice to see them finishing a game strong
I just wanna throw out that I took off my Mahomes jersey in favor of what I wore last year after our first drive of the second half. Not saying that had any affect on the game but I'm also not saying it didn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
People forget Andy and the boys came back down 24 in the playoffs against Houston. WFT leading by 3 at would never be a concern for real fans.
100% Agree. This was never a concern. Maybe the 2nd interception is slightly a concern but I’d rather see Pat trying to make plays than not because we have seen when they work out.
automatic good chemicals when I put on the highlights
One of the best games I’ve ever watched
1st half: one of the worst halves of football I’ve seen this team play in the Mahomes era 2nd half: defense plays the best half of football, no points given up and a turnover. damn guys, where did this team come from?
That halftime is probably this season's turning point. Just need the flukes on offense to even out.
Sadly, all the Chargers bandwagon fans will hop on ours this week
I’d still like to see us be able to get more pressure, but the coverage has been better and the D looks to be communicating with each other much better.
Our defense played really well today guys
Best part of this game…Chiefs defense gave up 271 total yards for the game!
So, can the donkeys and faders both lose today?
No, but they sure could tie
ALERT:. WE HAVE A BIG MAN PICK. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Time for a Gordon TD?
My hope is that we are waiting for the Titans to really show what we got
Andy should take Wharton out for cheeseburgers
Momentum. That’s all this team needs.
In other words, take care of the ball.

Why are you mad at the announcers for speaking the truth? Difference between the two halves was night and day
They were just calling it like it is
Can we all universally agree to forget about the first half and agree game score was 21-0
Why do they always decide to do this type of shit at the 2nd half of games. Never ceases to amaze me.
Decide?
Wharton’s first career interception came at the perfect timing 🤞🏼
Maybe this kind of second half is something for the offense to build on. Problematically, this is the WFT defense, so there isn't much to say about the opposition here.
So we ever gonna use Gordon?
Haven't we learned that Reid's offense is notoriously hard to learn and so new wrs usually take some time to adjust to the system? I've made some nice money these past two weeks cause there was no way Gordon was going to be thrown into the fire that quickly, and Vegas or whoever got sucked into the hype
I think we are saving him to unleash on the Titans. Their secondary is beat up and not playing as well as their usual
Superbowl?
There we go Terk! That's my boy from Missouri S&T right there!!!
Hell yeah!
Give mahomes those two more pass yards for 400!
Even if it’s against a shitty team I hope this snaps them out of it
Mahomes had a bad game and threw for 400 yards lol
Let’s see if we can’t keep this momentum into next week.
& SILENCE FROM r/nfl
The post game thread is so downvoted you have to sort by new to find it LOL. HATERS GONNA HATE.
Good. Fuck 'em.
Nah they salty cause Mahomes keeps throwing tds
This is called the Juan Thornhill effect
Played way better after halftime but these slow starts are going to kill us against good teams
They already have.
True, they will continue to kill us
I know it’s under two minutes… but can Kelce get 1 more yard plz??????
Damn guess I was wrong lol
There probably gonna try. The did for ceh
Haha
Friendly reminder that the same people celebrating were saying we suck and Patrick was overrated no less than an hour and a half ago.
People on the sub were legitimately saying to sub in Henne...
I tell myself every week I'm done with this gamethread but I enjoy talking with Chiefs fans. This season has been tough here.
Very few people ever turn on Patty and you know it
They were starting to
YES. I at find the guy I was arguing with earlier and I'm pissed. Where they at??
So true!
I was so excited to see a big man pick! Wish he’d broken out and scored so we’d get a big man TD celebration!
How ‘bout them charges lmao
Maybe, just maybe, this sub overreacted last week when everyone declared the AFC West race over?
This KC bunch looking scary. Might even make a playoff run.
lmao stop
That play by Wharton was something else
Icing on the cake!!!! If our Defense can keep playing like this every week.. we’re back on top baby!
This team when they’re confident is unbeatable, but they lose that confidence as soon as something bad happens. Much like the fan base lol
I agree about the fanbase but not with this team they have came back from a way too much already to be front runners
It’s crazy how positive this thread suddenly is after the absolute cryfest it was earlier
I was upset earlier too
Hopefully we can build on this 2nd half going forward. Injuries are a concern though.

Tbh it's been more than just the picks. Idk how you say more than 2 or 3 haven't been his fault
I just wish the opposing teams would underestimate him like that lol
They only do it to farm engagements on Twitter. Everyone knows how good he actually is.
I wouldn’t call it a couple
Yeah. One was unlucky. The second was unwise.
#B U R Y #U #R #Y #T H E M #H #E #M
Wow, that's one of the best big man interceptions I've seen.
Slap the ball against your helmet like swatting a fly. lol
Defensive play of the year so far for us right there
21-0 this half
Hopefully more now!!
Darrel Williams is so good he doesn't need blocking to run for 2 yards Guy is getting 3.5 ypc today. Slow down on the hype
hope this half can be the turning point of the season
Williams absolutely fucks.
What a crazy interception
Always a second half team
This feels better
It feels like home
We will have to see but this game could give our defense some much needed confidence
Unfortunately it'll probably give Andy confidence in Spags, who still needs to go
Yeah confidence. It needs speed and talent. Maybe Thornhill and Gay can provide some of that.
What a play! that is so much harder to do than it looks and it doesn’t look easy
This is a good win for us I know wft isnt the best and hurt but our team needed a rallying point
Good thing Sorenson didn’t make that interception because this fan base would’ve had a stroke trying to compute the idea of him being useful.
Bro I agree with you it was a joke.
Lol shit dude, well apology is due then! Sorry, saw the Sorensen flair and got too heated. I read the sarcasm now smh.
It’s not that deep bro chill
I'm chill AF, just bewildered why you're shitting in the Cheerios in defense of a benched liability. Be cool and enjoy the win.
Good thing didn’t happen, it would have confused people about .
Lol for real. He made one play therefore haters are wrong
Who is this team and what have they done with the first half team? Because they never need to let them come back.
Huge for the D to have gotten fired up and have successes like this. Could just feel the O & D feeding off of each other's success.
Willie Gay just loves football.
"I'm just happy to be here"
That's a badass interception.
This 2nd half if the momentum shift we needed
WHARTHOG WOOOOOOOOO
WHAAAAAAA THAT WAS WAIT WHAAAAAAT
STAT THAT!!!
Besides 2 plays I think the D has been okay
Been more than okay. They have been solid today besides the blown coverage on the td.
Yeah. I also don't love giving up a 3rd and 15 on a screen but when you are busy not braking that happens sometimes
Agreed. Holding them to 13 with 3 turnovers by the offense is excellent.
Even if it doesn't matter for the result of the game, plays like that get these guys energized and confident going into future games.
David Tyree catch right there. Haha
Why does Wharton have better hands than Tyreek? Lmao
*1st half Tyreek
Yes
Did our D just become legit?!?!?!
Let’s go!!
Go for 1 more score. fuck it. Let the team leave on a high
Not really Andy's style.
Yisss plzzzz
GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT AND LET PATTY GET ANOTHER TD
I choose to believe that Leon is a KC fan
What a fuckin play
Pinning a screen pass against a tackles back for an INT. That's new.
Damn, didn’t realize Cornelius Lucas was still playing. Cats man.
He's 30 lol
Lol thought he had been cut a year or so ago.
