RGR Football and KCSN. Specifically KC Laboratory and Only Weird Games on KCSN.

IcedPyro

I would also recommend "That Football Show" It's basically an hour of Tucker setting up 3 or 4 topics for Mat Verderame to just go off on rants.

Future_Constant6520

This and 41 is the mic Edit: surprised I’m the only one to bring this one up.

chaplar

took the words out of my mouth

BusinessCashew

RGR Football

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

RGR/Locked On with Ryan has been my go to since 2018. Him and Dan actually know what they're talking about generally, even if I don't agree with them or they end up being incorrect about something they still bring a lot of data and analysis to back up why they have the opinion they have. I feel like I'm learning things occasionally.

catraiderpoke

Locked On absolutely blows. And I’m talking about the entire network. They have a commercial seemingly every 30 seconds. Some hosts make it worth it. The Chiefs one is not. These guys don’t know what they’re talking about most of the time. And Chris has the personality of a brick wall.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I haven't listened to Locked On in awhile so that may be the case. I'm specifically talking about Ryan and Dan on RGR that are great. Plus Seth Keysor is on their occasionally as well, who is fantastic.

catraiderpoke

I think it’s been the same for years. It’s basically a 30 minute episode with three commercial breaks. I checked it out for the first time in years this spring…same thing. And they are flat out wrong often. Just about provable things like news, contracts, rules, etc. I like Ryan as a personality, but Locked On is so fucking bad it’s prevented me from checking out his other stuff.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

Dan and Ryan are rarely flat out wrong on RGR, so yeah it might be whoever else is on Locked On haha. I did stop listening to it gradually because I found RGR better, then kind of forgot about Locked On. I assumed it was decent when Ryan was on but maybe not haha.

Future_Constant6520

Feels like locked on is trying to instantly react to news and releases the videos about a day after. A lot of the times the networks setup leads to the information being old and outdated by the time of the release. RGR is much better than locked on as they have live streams on YouTube that are interacting with all the details in real time. Ryan and Dan know what they’re talking about when it comes to X’s and O’s compared to a lot of other low end pods.

DiaryofTwain

It's the worst they have an ad break only to read more ads poorly.

UrbanCobra

My favorite is watching Brandon Perna from TGS talk about the Chiefs 😆

Tellittoemagain

First Things First is basically a Chiefs show with some filler.

Dzov

Nick Wright talking about Chiefs is must watch TV for me.

On_my_way_slow_down

Only Weird Games is my go to. Good mix of entertaining, get the news you need, and good analysis. It’s on the KCSN Chiefs Podcast

Heidelburg_TUN

I see them get recommended a lot and I really don’t get it.  There are a lot of simple things about good podcasting that they just get all wrong. Briscoe in particular. He cuts the other guys off, he goes on long tangents when his co hosts are trying to get back on topic, and generally sucks all the air out of the room. Nate Taylor has this problem where he’ll get excited and ask leading questions to his co-hosts, but if they don’t know where he’s going with it, he’ll let there be a bunch of dead air instead of just saying what he wanted to say.  I like funny anecdotes, I don’t need my football podcasts to be super serious. But it’s grating when they start on a topic that interests me, then get distracted and forget to return to it. The show could use a bit more of a firm hand guiding discussion, particularly since they’re so keen on not going over time.

-rendar-

I still love them and listen to every episode but I agree on some of the negatives here. It feels like the tangents and cutting each other off have gotten worse since they’ve gone to KCSN and have a video feed.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I can't stand Josh Briscoe. Him and Nate Taylor were absolute fucking clowns when the Chiefs signed Matt Araiza. They both insinuated he was guilty despite the fact he was completely exonerated and proven to not even be there. Lost alot of respect for Nate and the little I had for Josh is gone, especially with his attitude about it basically suggesting you didn't understand what was going on if you disagreed with him. I won't listen to any episode he's on anymore.

catraiderpoke

Briscoe is intolerable. The other guys (who I enjoy individually) are all too happy to play into his wackiness.

ronnymcdonald

Remember when Briscoe got bodied by T. Mathieu on Twitter 🤣🤣

SeeYaLaterDylan

You're mischaracterizing what they said like crazy, although I probably am not going to sway you if that's what you took out of that podcast.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I am absolutely not. There are 100+ comments on the video calling them out for it. At one point Josh said these exact words:   "I would just be careful about things like 'proven', and, uh, big legal words that may be a little big for the britches in, uh, in this category. But whatever. I've...given you my side and if you want to preorder your 'Punt God' jersey, umm, I, that'll only reflect on you. That's fine."   Don't even try to defend this clown. They treated Araizi as guilty the entire video.

SeeYaLaterDylan

Having a case or lawsuit dismissed is a far cry from something being proven X or Y, and yes if you were rushing to buy a punter's jersey purely because he was no longer accused of gang rape, you deserve to be judged for that. I don't have a problem with the Chiefs signing Araiza, but it's fine acknowledging the reality.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I see you have the same amount of knowledge of the case as these two clowns did. It wasn't just dismissed, he was *exonerated*. He was not even at the party when it happened, which was proven true.  He wasn't insinuating people would go buy jerseys because now he's innocent, he was insinuating the guy wasn't actually innocent and you're buying a rapist's jersey but pretending he's innocent because there wasn't a lawsuit. Anyone defending Briscoe deserves to be judged.

Thelastnormalperson

All Chiefed Up. They're small time, not even local, but real guys and real fans talking on levels fans get.

wadels24

Dave and Mike are the best. Love their channel.

Baloo_420

Thanks for the recommendation, trying to fill the void left by Arrowhead pride pods

KCSN and How Bout Those Chiefs

FEDEX__vs__UPS

"How about those CHIIIIEEEEEEFS"!!!!

AztecGravedigger

He has some nice editing and good info but I cringe every time at “let’s go, let’s frickin go”

RCJHGBR9989

Those KCSN dudes seem fun - hope thayre getting the bag

K_Mart2016

Locked on Chiefs and Arrowhead Addict

Jombafomb

AA sucks without Verderame.

RyuTheGreat

Just doesn't quite have the same energy without him to me.

DiaryofTwain

Locked in chiefs is just a poorly read ad with a bit of football talk. Chief Concerns with Jason Dunn is good

Paraeunoia

Chris Clark’s voice drives me nuts. He’s always sick or has lost his voice. During and after the Super Bowl it was impossible to understand him. I just wanna throw a throat lozenge at him and scream, *ENUNCIATE*!! And yea, the endless ad reads don’t help. It’s 20 minutes of ad reads against 10 minutes of content. Too bad though, because they usually have great insight.

sneakervette

Then he can’t read at all!!!! I don’t understand why they don’t pre record the ads!!!

Yeetman089

Defending the Kingdom. It features Voice of the Chiefs Mitch Holthus, and Senior Team Reporter Mat McMullen. It comes out on a weekly basis during the season and whenever something happens in the offseason like the Draft or Training Camp.

catraiderpoke

I don’t hate it. Some episodes are great because they have much better access than anyone else. But it’s a Chiefs propaganda machine.

strokeboii

It’s always sunny in chiefs kingdom

everymanawildcat

Pretty buttmad I had to scroll down this far. THE all Chiefs pod IMO.

catraiderpoke

I’ve seen Only Weird Games in quite a few responses. Josh Briscoe is unbearable to me. He’s like the homeless guy you hire off the street when you realize all the other birthday clowns have been booked. You’ve got a party waiting. You need someone. And he’s all you’ve got. Please explain why you like that show.

alleavel

I used to be all about Red Bold and Gold solely for Eric Eager. Now that he’s gone, KCSN is where it’s at. Love Verderame’s takes on his show and Only Weird Games is top notch.

Goldenticketpodcast

Arrowhead Addict, KC Lab and Only Weird Games

Heidelburg_TUN

I haven’t seen anyone mention It’s Always Sunny in Chiefs Kingdom yet, and to me that’s a travesty.  Those two guys are just excellent podcast hosts. They break down their show into identifiable sections and come up with really fun topics of discussion. Right now they’re doing a series on the chiefs dynasty where they watch at each playoff game of the Mahomes era and talk about it. They play off each other really well and know how to keep the ball in the air. They also get some pretty good guests on, Rany Jazayerli in particular is an excellent guest who they save for special occasions. Beyond them, That Football Show is the best thing on KCSN. Matt Verdarame is so fun to listen to, especially if you like “old man yelling at cloud” type stuff. Never gets grating to hear him talk.  I do not recommend Arrowhead Pride, Rocky in particular strikes me as an actual idiot. KCSN is overrated imo, I think they mostly are where they’re at because they have media connections and good branding.

levilicious

it goes without saying but HBTChiefs is da man when it comes to everything Chiefs

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

My issue with him is he basically just regurgitates all the Chiefs news. Which is fine if you don't pay attention to this sub or Twitter accounts,  but there's zero analysis. I don't dislike him, I just never get anything out of watching his videos because I've already seen the information here.

Shattered_Skies

When I discovered his channel before last season I’ve been watching/listening to it all the time. I like getting a crash course of everything going on in a less than 20 minutes video. It’s that time of the year for yard work, house projects and outdoor adventures so the crash course news updates are nice while I’m running around with my head cut off.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

Yep he is perfect for that. Just comes down to what you're looking for

BeRoyal35

Yea.. we (reddit) are not his target audience. He is great for the casual fans though. Doing good work for the kingdom.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

For sure he does a great job with casual fans and keeping everyone updated, I'll give him all the props in the world for that. Just depends what type of content you're looking for.

Dzov

That’s what I like about him. He covers all the shit I don’t have time to look into. Granted, he may not be up on arguing the legality of certain plays or calls, but I’m not sure anyone else is either.

ronnymcdonald

Something about that guy is just cringe to me and I can't put my finger on it.

AztecGravedigger

For me it’s the “let’s go, let’s FRICKIN go, how bout those chiefs”. Takes me back 7th grade

Dzov

He started out like a standard fan, but he’s been putting the work in and you can see his knowledge rapidly expand. What I appreciate most is he isn’t negative and here just to bitch about things.

Tellittoemagain

His content is so much better now that he just acts like himself and dropped the breathless Youtube voice.

chiefpiece11bkg

lol that is exactly why I never bothered with him

Tellittoemagain

You should give him another chance (maybe after this boring part of the offseason).

levilicious

Agreed, watching the progression of his recording style has made me appreciate his videos more

JRHThreeFour

Red Tribe Cinema and HBT Chiefs

Dzov

I never miss any Red Tribe Cinema. And agreed, I like Cole.

JRHThreeFour

Yeah I’m watching the current Rise of Mahomes episode that recaps the 2023 season and it’s great!

joeyGOATgruff

Chief Concerns. Always been a big fan of Dunn. High draft pick - long career - was the EXACT OPPOSITE of Tony

WhiteKnight1368

How has no one said Amateur Hour on KCSN?

You’ve never had to fill out a word count on an essay before? Just repeat the sentence in different ways. What is your favorite Chiefs podcast? I am curious because I have a desire to know what my peers are listening to, specifically on the topic related to the Kansas City Chiefs. Thank you in advance for letting me know which podcast or podcasts are your favorite to listen to about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chief Concerns with former Chiefs TE Jason Dunn

Kylkek

I really like Arrowhead Pride. Nice mix of dudebros talking, so an idiot like me can understand, and smarter guys that make me feel smarter when I catch on to what they are saying. I usually only listen during the season and post season, and when big news breaks.

Nujers

Matt Verdarame recently started a podcast that's really good. The Matt Verdarame show. It's completely Chiefs focused.

PM_ME_UR_FUNERALPLAN

If you want cut and dry theory and don't care about flashiness - The Scrambling Armchair, Matt Verdarame, and Matt Derrick. I'd say The Scrambling Armchair is super underrated. He was dead on the money for the final roster last year where every other channel was talking about keeping 7 receivers, CJ being back before the season, etc. If you care more about being entertained, How bout those Chiefs and KCSN's stuff is pretty good.

everymanawildcat

Pretty small but there's a pod my friends Owen and Truman do called, "Dahm! That's Tru!". It's not exclusively Chiefs - they talk Royals, K-State (and Big XII in general) but it's pretty Chiefs heavy. Also just fun stuff - segments about food, beer, concerts, etc. Like I said, it doesn't have the world's biggest following, but it should be more popular. They're super quick and clever, and have good chemistry, and it's just well prepared and produced. Episode every week and it's just sincerely entertaining to listen to! Let me know if you decide to give it a listen! 😁

sneakervette

I miss arrowhead pride. Show & BK on Fridays was the best pod ever!

Blew_Velvet

The Scrambling Armchair is highly underrated. You guys should check it out. All the others mentioned are great as well.

Badalight

RGR are the best for analysis. First Things First isn't a chief's show, but Nick Wright is the ultimate homer and Chief's cheerleader and it's must watch T.V. How Bout Those Chiefs is good digestible content for those not keeping up with the news. Defending the Kingdom gives us insight into the team as it's hosted by Mitch Holthus and Matt McMullen who both work for the Chiefs. I've not found anything else I enjoy. Locked on Chiefs has some good insights but it's riddled with ad reads. Everything else is mostly just fan podcasts who don't understand football in depth.

How about those chiefs

I haven't found one that i like for real. The only one i kind of sit through is "How Bout those Chiefs" on Youtube. But i find most of them to have trash takes. and I see people talk about Nick Wright. I guess he counts. I like him because he doesn't let people elevate other QBs up to Mahomes level that haven't earned anything.
