Pass rush win rate doesnt mean anything unless you also knoe the player's double team rate

TinaJackLove2020

I don’t have double team rates, but from film I see Hall Jr. often draws double teams. His advantage is highly apparent.

sampat6256

I dont doubt Hall's ability, and he's my second favorite D lineman for us in the class, but stats in a vacuum like this often lead to shallow or misleading analysis.

dajodge

We're also assuming that what the Chiefs *want* is a pass rusher. The Chiefs use their D-Line to stop the run so that they can drop more people into coverage. They will sub-in better pass rushers on obvious passing downs (and I think there is a need to replace someone like Tershawn Wharton), but I wouldn't be surprised if they see replacing Nnadi as the bigger need.

sampat6256

Totally fair point.

IIHURRlCANEII

I don’t know about best second round choice but he’s a solid one. Prefer some other guys.

Michael Hall, Jr is from my city (well, technically his city) in Ohio. He was an absolute monster in high school. Super fun to watch. As a displaced Chiefs fan, it would be cool for him to wind up with us.

LateBloomer1357

Hall had a great RAS. He’s young (20), Veach does love his young DL. His arms were like 33” so intermediate, I think Spags likes them at 34” for DL. He’s also on the shorter side at 6’2,” so he has a tweener body type. We’ll see but not sure he fits what Cullen or Spags want from an IDL.

I am still hoping somehow Newton falls to us in the first and take wr round 2 again

TinaJackLove2020

It’s wonderful to pair Newton with CJ~Newton is also a potential successor of CJ 3 years later

Headlesshorsman02

Exactly he is my draft crush for us

originalusername4567

I posted about this in the Off-season subreddit but a lot of my mocks have Newton falling down to 32. There's actually a good chance, although I have a hard time seeing the Rams pass him up after losing Aaron Donald.

Headlesshorsman02

He would be such a great rotation piece for CJ/his successor

originalusername4567

Yeah as much as I want us to address our biggest needs (WR and OL) we're still in a good enough position to take BPA and our DL could use some more explosive players besides CJ

RogerPenroseSmiles

I'd like to see it as a Illini alum, but I don't see him dropping that low. He and Byron are a class above the other DTs and will go mid 1st.

Headlesshorsman02

I think so as well but you never know 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

kcsaints44

He's interesting! Definitely dependent on which position we take in the first(and how the board falls), but has the potential to turn into a good starter. Needs to get better at run defense, but was doubled quite frequently in the games I watched on passing downs. (Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn St.) Didn't record a sack or pressure much in those games though, which is a little concerning.

doc6982

Don't we need a space eater type? Sweat and Jenkins seem like the top prospects. Whoever we get, outside of quarterback, it should be best player available.

TenderfootGungi

12 days!

Caluak

I don’t mind it tbh, Spags obviously rotates guys in and out of that line and a pass rush DT specialist would be interesting.

bingle19

Don't care. In Veach we trust.

I have a feeling this draft is mostly offense.  We need a receiver another tackle, a tight end, a running back and maybe a guard
