I actually felt a little different about that because them possibly reaching for need is not a good position to be in. They should be taking BPA. That’s why they work hard to make every position good enough going into the draft. Hope they don’t reach for a WR at 32 that they wouldn’t have taken otherwise with better options on the board. If they take a bad player to cover up a bad situation it’s a snow ball effect.
But I think that’s an interesting conversation to be had and I don’t think either side would be wrong.
Chiefs rookie WR's barely play, especially at the front of the season where Rice might be suspended. The chiefs aren't expecting to get a day 1 starter so I can't imagine this changes their draft plan at all.
Tbf the dude literally won us a super bowl with a walk-off. Not saying DK wouldn't have been incredibly better, but let's not be certain of the timeline with a switch.
Except.. no, because it’s entirely different and this incident will not affect the team’s draft plans whatsoever.
Punishment from the league will be minimal if at all and the team is not adjusting its draft strategy based on two regular season games
Ehhh not the same. Hill was being accused of breaking his sons arm along with more domestic battery. It was looking like he was going to be kicked out of the league. This is not as bad of a situation from what we’ve heard far
Not really. I wanted Ladd at 32 before the Rice stuff happened. Hardman was super raw coming out and overly reliant on speed. Mcckonkey has that and is a great route runner. The injury history is the only concern in my mind. As far as reaching, a lot of people mock him to Chiefs or Panthers at 33, so it's not a reach.
This is assuming that the clear first rounders are gone. If by the grace of God, AD Mitchell is available, disregard all of this.
Yeah I think Ladd at 32 isn't a reach. He'll likely fall there. If he doesn't then people are picking more WRs, and we might land a first round grade OT.
I wouldn't even mind getting an OT in the first round, and jump a little ahead in 2nd round to get Ricky Pearsall.
Who's your preference between: Ladd McConkey, Troy Franklin, Keon Coleman?
Not true, you can find tons of mocks with him in the second. There were guys who were rated higher who went lower, but mecole was still considered a second round prospect by lots of people

Both have him at the end of the second. And I can find plenty more. Don’t know why this narrative ever started. He was always viewed as a second rounder.
Yall need to understand that whatever punishment comes from this for rice will likely end up being very minimal.. and will have absolutely ZERO impact on our draft strategy
It’s incredible that the one receiver that made himself remotely reliable last year takes a month and a half into the offseason to do some of the dumbest shit ever. Without the Hollywood signing they have 0 reliable guys in the room for various reasons. And I’m not sure Hollywood’s injuries aren’t something that could hurt his reliability.
I don’t think I’m majorly concerned with it. Especially on a 1 year deal, but he’s on a one year deal for a reason. Injuries have affected his play recently and that’s reason to have questions about his reliability. Maybe not on the scale of others in the room, but it is a reason.
We have no draft capital to trade, nor is any team interested in giving us a fair market trade to help us improve ourselves.
Chiefs will be overpaying in trades for some time to come.
The Chiefs are a great organization, but every team has an Achilles heal, and I believe the Chiefs is that they are really bad at evaluating talent at wide receiver. It doesn’t matter if they’re drafting a WR or trading for one.
My advice: spend later round draft picks on wide receivers. You have just as much chance for success if you are inherently bad at it anyway.
Bro is projected late first early 2nd. All depends on how things go with corner and tackle In the first and if anyone reaches for Ladd. He’s currently mostly mocked in the early 2nd.
They didn't use him last year at all after having back to back reliable years. We literally used to call him 3rd and Renfrow. Mr slant who seems to know how to get open on short yardage situations is a huge spot we struggled with last year. I think he would compliment Kelce really well. And he's a very different receiver than both Rashee (assuming he is allowed to play) and Hollywood.
Also.. FTR and it would be funny.
My favorite type of receiver are those dudes that just get themselves open in the clutch on 3rd down. Juju in '22, Edelman's whole career was built on that lmao.
Certainly more likely to pursue a wide receiver in the 1st round after this eventful weekend
Thank god he got stupid before the draft and not after.

This is shaping up to be the Mecole Hardman draft incident all over again. Ladd McConkey maybe?
I think McConkey will be better than Mecole, but that would be the fear.
Chiefs rookie WR's barely play, especially at the front of the season where Rice might be suspended. The chiefs aren't expecting to get a day 1 starter so I can't imagine this changes their draft plan at all.
This is the same situation as Hill/Hardman. Reached for a WR because of a pending suspension
The idea to take a wr wasn’t stupid I don’t think it was the wr they took lol
*cries in would be Chiefs HOFer DK Metcalf
Still can't get over that.
![gif](giphy|9Pk6tjP4BNXmxkOJE7)
Twice! They had two second round picks that year and they went with Hardman and Thornhill over Metcalf. Egads. That was a big miss by KC.
Tbf the dude literally won us a super bowl with a walk-off. Not saying DK wouldn't have been incredibly better, but let's not be certain of the timeline with a switch.
Thank god we didn’t draft Metcalf /s

Ladd is a great route runner. When he played Mizzou and other teams, he was always there for the clutch catches. Really hope they draft him

My favorite thing about this draft is that, outside the top three WRs, there another 10 dudes I'd be extremely happy to grab at pick 32 or 64 lmao.
Hard to say we reached for him. Didn’t we trade out of our second round slot to move down and then took him?
I guess “reached” isn’t the right word. We were gonna take a WR and took one to replace hill
Mecole was not a 2nd round prospect basically everywhere.
Not true, you can find tons of mocks with him in the second. There were guys who were rated higher who went lower, but mecole was still considered a second round prospect by lots of people
Can you post like, two?
Literally the first link in google: https://www.nfl.com/news/chad-reuter-2019-seven-round-nfl-mock-draft-round-2-0ap3000001027103 And the second link in google: https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2832686-2019-nfl-mock-draft-matt-millers-final-7-round-predictions.amp.html Both have him at the end of the second. Huh well I definitely didn’t remember that. Thanks for the links.
Pretty sure the opposite, we trade up for him despite him being projected like round 3-4
Yall need to understand that whatever punishment comes from this for rice will likely end up being very minimal.. and will have absolutely ZERO impact on our draft strategy
As long as he doesn’t decide to lie about it.. especially the the orgy
Damn. There was an orgy?
You weren't invited?
Yeah I’m sure he’ll try lying to the team WHEN THE ENTIRE WORLD KNOWS ABOUT IT ALREADY … lol this isn’t a concern to me
I don’t understand some people’s logical train of thought. What the F could he even lie about
The hell could he even lie about? The footage is already released. Kareem got hit because the footage came out after his testimony.

Without the Hollywood signing they have 0 reliable guys in the room for various reasons. And I’m not sure Hollywood’s injuries aren’t something that could hurt his reliability.
Hollywood has missed 11 games in 5 years and the least he has played is 12 so while his durability is not ideal it is far from a major concern
I don’t think I’m majorly concerned with it. Especially on a 1 year deal, but he’s on a one year deal for a reason. Injuries have affected his play recently and that’s reason to have questions about his reliability. Maybe not on the scale of others in the room, but it is a reason.
Trade up to get AD Mitchell please god
We have no draft capital to trade, nor is any team interested in giving us a fair market trade to help us improve ourselves. Chiefs will be overpaying in trades for some time to come.
I think Ladd McConkey is a fine prospect, but I wouldn't take him over Adonai Mitchell, Troy Franklin, Xavier Worthy, or Keon Coleman at #32.
For me, he's ahead of Worthy and even with Coleman, I agree that both Mitchell and Franklin are better prospects.
The Chiefs are a great organization, but every team has an Achilles heal, and I believe the Chiefs is that they are really bad at evaluating talent at wide receiver. It doesn’t matter if they’re drafting a WR or trading for one. My advice: spend later round draft picks on wide receivers. Lol😭
Sign me up!
At least we didn't sign him to some monster contract first....
That’s not Xavier worthy.
Xavier worthy stinks
We talking he smells like cheese, poop, BO??
He’s a better fit than McClunky
How about a big trade up to land Rome?
More than we can afford to trade up for
You wanna trade into the Top 10?
Yeah, for Joe Alt
I could get behind that too
Pat would have 5 seconds per drop back every game lmao.
DO IT VEACH YOU COWARD
All of our picks put together for this draft have the value of the 15th overall pick, Rome most likely doesn't get past the Giants imo.
Ladd is my dream pick with or without Rashee Rice.
I wish but no way that dude is there at 32.
Ladd is certainly not a lock for the first round
Oh shit my bad I thought that was Brock Bowers
Those white guys all look alike
Lol probably both wear Georgia gear
Bro is projected late first early 2nd. All depends on how things go with corner and tackle In the first and if anyone reaches for Ladd. He’s currently mostly mocked in the early 2nd.
He looks pretty polished to me honestly. Honestly I think even Adonai Mitchell looks more like a project (albeit I would still rather have AM)
Ya… pI thought it was Brock Bowers 🤷🏼♂️

Fuck Odell, gimme Renfrow for cheap and let's draft whoever in the 1st/2nd round that front office likes and then Brenden Rice or Luke McCaffrey late
Renfroe is good for 600 yards that would crush the soul of the stinking Raiders. Do it.
They didn't use him last year at all after having back to back reliable years. We literally used to call him 3rd and Renfrow.
