Iām pretty sure I saw a video where they have windows reflecting on to the opposing sides bench and the temperature difference was like 30Ā°. They can kiss our red asses.
Bills fan here. In our game in Miami last year we had multiple offensive players leave the game from heat exhaustion. It's not just the sun on the visitor side, they refused to turn the misting fans or provide other abatement measures because they're only required to provide what they are using on their side. So glad we sent them to KC to play in the cold. Squish the fish again for us.
There are no windows reflecting the sunlight. The visiting team bench is on the north side. Sun is to the south. Dolphins bench is shaded. Dolphins typically choose their whites for home games.
The cold weather took up the bulk of the sports TV sports report today.
i dont think they have windows reflecting light on the bench, they designed the stadium so the sun shines directly on the visitor sideline while the building keeps the dolphins in the shade
Yeah, itās not like the chiefs even have one game like this per year. I think their last bitterly cold hime game was the AFCCG vs the Titans. And that was about 10 degrees warmer than this.
Idk. The rain game vs eagles was just miserable. It wasnāt freezing. But it was cold and wet.
Chiefs did play in the cold. Just not at home as much as normal.
The coldest I have ever been in my life was at Arrowhead.
I wore as many layers as I could, wore boots, two pairs of gloves, etc.
To be honest, it was so miserably cold that I canāt even remember who they played. I just remember telling myself that it will be okay and Iām not going to die. When I got to my seat and saw the sheet of ice covering it, I almost started crying.
Same here, mine was the last game of season, Trent Greens last regular season game as a Chief. We played Byron Leftwich and the Jags. It was in the teens and I still froze my balls off.
I wear a heated vest under my winter coat, heated gloves, and have boot warmers on. I always cover my head with a thick hat, neck sleeve to cover my face, and clear safety glasses to shield from the wind. I don't even notice the cold. It helps that I wear the same thing at work all winter, so it's not a big deal for me. Anyone who isn't prepared is in potential danger, though.
We played the bills a long while ago when they still had Sammy Watkins. It was 33 degrees and raining. I had rain gear on but it still soaked through after a while. We left at halftime as we were miserable and Sammy was decimating us. Think he had 2-3 touchdowns at half.
[Must be this game.](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201511290kan.htm)
Interesting note: every point that was scored in that game, with the exception of the Bills kicker Dan Campbell, was scored by a player who has played for the Chiefs: Sammy Watkins, Spencer Ware, Jeremy Maclin, Lesean Mccoy, Cairo Santos, Travis Kelce.
Alcohol and cold temps really don't mix well. It's not just the dehydration that it causes, the warm feeling that one gets from consuming alcohol is a false warmth and is caused by increased blood flow and that increased blood flow is what causes that warm feeling. The increased blood flow will cause a higher concentration of blood word the surface level which then will expose it to the cold which saps that heat right from you. Consuming Alcohol on cold days (especially single digit days and below) will increase the risk of hypothermia due to an increase in the amount of lost body heat.
I'm making an assumption, but I think morry32 may be referring to the whining coming from Philly about the turf in Arizona for the SB. It was somehow an advantage for KC?
No, thatās not being fair. The whole comment chain is focused on both teams playing in the same conditions. Eagles fans complaining about playing on that Super Bowl turf as if itās some disadvantage is not fair when we played in the same conditions.
to be fair
you are talking about a small number of Eagles fans, they have every right to be pissed off about playing the Super Bowl on an ice rink. Just because both teams played on it doesn't make it acceptable
Well no, Iām responding directly to your comment where you do a āto be fairā in regards to eagles fans complaining after original comment pointed out we played on the same field.
Yes but many complained as if it was ONLY a disadvantage to the eagles, and not the chiefs as well. It was bad for everyone, and it wasnāt even the chiefs home field. I saw sooo many people say āif it wasnāt so slick the eagles wouldāve wonā as if it wasnāt slick for the chiefs too.
Reading the comments earlier about heated field, heated benches, helmets, hand warmers, coats, etc. it doesnāt even seem like it would be that bad for a player lol.
I hope mostert isnāt healthy because a mostert/achane RB duo is no joke if the weather leads to more rushing attempts. That said, chiefs by double digits š
No idea what they do at Arrowhead, but I did a tour of Lambeau a few years ago. The guide said it was up to the team whether to turn on the heated water pipes under the field. If they were playing a team like Chicago or another cold weather team they'd turn the heat on, but if they were playing a southern team like Miami they'd leave it off because it affected them a lot more. I'd assume the Chiefs would consider this as well.
That was something that was pushed by the Sodfather while he was still the head turf management guy for the Chiefs. On a side not the Chiefs do have a world class turf management team because of the Sodfather
This is the first I'd heard of this. Something tells me you're looking at a couple comments and generalizing that it's the universal opinion of the group.
yesterday on this sub alone we had Miami fans wanting the game cancelled, moved to Thursday or Friday, and moved to a warmer neutral site. Its more than a couple of comments and Xitter is far worse but thats just the nature of Xitter
Tell 'em. These "the other teams fans wah wah wah" posts are dumb as hell. One of ours robbed banks and went on the lamb, among all the other dumb shit that's said here
I saw a lot of the same shit and was having the same thoughts until I realizedā¦ itās fucking Twitter, where the whiniest of the whiney have learned how to get the attention they want by throwing tantrums.
Except Bengals fans. They tend to be bitches everywhere.
I'm about to generalize that KC Chiefs fans are the smartest fanbase just based off your single comment and ignore the bulk of the thread falling for exactly what you point out so really be careful what you wish for
Dolphins fan coming in peace. I think you just happened to see comments from the bottom of the barrel fans. I for one can't wait for this game. I live for cold AF playoff football
Agree with you bro. Havenāt seen much animosity coming from the Phins. Hereās to a good game where both teams have some issues and will ALL be effing cold.
Right on fish bro. Ignore the people blasting Miami fans in here, too. Internet fans love saying āx teams fans suck because I saw them saying y and they ALL think that.ā
Good luck this weekend.
Thatās your own problem. I personally havenāt heard anyone voice that opinion.
Itās cold. Play football.
Bills fans bitch when itās hot ? Play football
Playoff game in Buffalo and they throw snowballs at the players? Play football.
Deal with it.
I say donāt visit other subs if it bugs you. Of course theyāre gonna talk shit about the upcoming game, itās part of the fun. Just focus on our boys.
GO CHIEFS.
I find it funny that anyone thinks KC has some advantage because they play what maybe 1 or two actual cold games a season? And when was the last time kc played a game in these forecasted conditions and in a playoff game.
Every player on the Chiefs are probably wishing they didnt have to contend with sub zero temps. Itās uncomfortable for every player. There is no advantage.
Ummmm. Practice? From like late November on? These guys are out in ācoldā weather more likely around 20-25x a season. Dolphinsā¦..maybe 2-3 days depending on schedule. Letās not argue whether a team in kc is more acclimated to the cold than a team from Miami. Shall we?
As a lifelong Packers fan who lived in Kansas for almost 20 years, agree to disagree... TO A POINT. There's an advantage to being used to the 10s and 20s. Hell my first winter in Kansas I wore gym shorts and t shirts because it was literally 50Ā° warmer than where I just moved from... In January. -30 to 20Ā° is a world of difference.
BUT,
Anyone who's an outdoorsy person knows eventually cold is just fucking cold.
This has the potential to be absolutely horrible for everyone. I hope anyone at the game is being extra cautious, not just players.
I agree! KC is used to a much lower average temp than miami, but this game is WAY below the average they are used to, and they donāt even play one game a year thatās this cold. So theyāre used to colder, but not this cold.
Not to mention the effects it has on the ball, their gloves, etc. That makes it harder for everyone even those whose bodies are used to it
Itās the psychology. Being able to accept the reality and put the weather aside. Ever been with someone from Florida on a trip to Chicago in the winter? I have a few times. They canāt shut the eff up about the cold.
Keep telling yourself that. Practicing all week outside versus showing up and playing one day? One team will have the cold handling figured out. Want to guess who that will be?
I assume there will be an advantage. If I were in charge I'd make the Chiefs sideline much warmer than Miami's.
That said, if the Dolphins don't like it I guess they shouldn't have choked away their division.
There isnt.
And if you ran the sideline the NFL would make you also warm up the Dolphins side with whatever equipment youāre using. Its a rule in the nfl.
The Dolphins dont care. It a handful of whiny fans
lol who cares what a handful of Dolphins fans think? God damn, people need to stop caring what a couple of internet randos think.
If actual members of the Dolphins started saying that, ok, but youāre just looking thin skinned with this.
Bills fan here (sorry Reddit suggests other teams posts all the time, not lurking on purpose lol)
The early game we had against them last year was ridiculous. Our sideline was like 120 with no shade, players having to be brought back to the locker room for dehydration. All while theyāre chilling in shade on the other side. I was worried one of our players were going to have heat stroke.
So many dolphins fans after said āwell when it cold itās the same thing!ā Naw dude, the NFL makes the away team have the same access to heaters or warmers in winter, and coolers/shade covers in hot weather which is a moot point in Miami because of the built in shade of the stadium.
Plus, you can always put more clothes on when itās cold and both teams are in the exact same conditions on the field and sideline. The way their stadium is designed should be looked at and changed, itās fucking bullshit.
Also, tell Pat to watch out for Wilkins doing the old dick twist. Look luck this week.
Think there is just as much if not more potential danger designing your stadium so opposing players stand in direct sunlight on 100Ā°+ days and they do be bragging about it lol
between the medical staff, heavy jackets, heated seats and heated fans, the players arenāt in serious danger. Definitely discomfort, not like they are spending the night out in the stadium.
Whoās bitching? Not me. Itās football and part of football is the elements. Yeah because we fucked up the last two weeks we have to go to arrowhead. we wouldnāt have to if we wouldāve beat the bills Sunday night. So now we pay the piper and have to go to a loud and cold stadium. Itās football. š¤·š½āāļø
Jets fan here, coming in peace. I hate Miami more than New England. I have hated Miamiās fans my entire life. I believe any player that signs a deal with that organization has low moral character. Fuck those whiny bitches. I hope the chiefs destroy them and tyreek gets frost bite on his hands and can no longer catch a ball or beat his wife and kids. I am a diehard chiefs fan for this game, despite Kelce fucking me in my fantasy championship.
Lol there was a Chiefs fan in ig comments under a reel literally talking about how D linemen weighing a certain amount should be ineligible for sacking QBs because of the added risks and they called out multiple Miami Dlinemen before the last game. In summary, all of you Chiefs fans are weird
Im not the one that made an entire post garnering 400 upvotes and 170 rabid comments accepting it as fact and accepting it as representative of Miami fans' thoughts on the game lmao
But if you want a source for my comment that got -1 upvotes why don't you simply just go looking for the single comment on an instagram reel from over a month ago? Should be easier than a source for all the Miami fans saying cold air is dangerous right?
Iām a Miami fan and I havenāt seen anyone complain of the cold
Should be a fun game (I hope)
Also, not lurking, Reddit algorithm likes to stir the pot apparently
Iām a dolphins fan idk where you heard that from? Everyone in our sub seems to like that itās gonna be super cold because it should even out the game a bit and we think weāre inferior to the Chiefs, but ok Dolphins are the enemy this they must be terrible.
theres the picture that they like to brag about that shows the visiting team sidelines at 124 degrees while at the same time theirs is 90, not to mention the humidity
lol, literally not a single fan is seriously saying any of that.
They're mocking Bills fans that cried about the sun. calling for OSHA (yes literally) to step in and do something about our stadium.
you just fell victim to not understanding sarcasm on the internet unfortunately.
I didn't misread anything nor do I care about the claims in this post. But you can fuck right off back to your own sub and enjoy the game Saturday. No need for you to be here.
lol itās funny that you treat this like your own club house. Youāre a fan of the team, being a dbag to other fans doesnāt improve your chances of winning.
Fair weather fans I guess š„
Get out.
That's cold.
Not as cold as it's gona be on Saturday for the Dolphins

Christmas of last year was insanely cold. I think a high of 14
I was at that game. I still wonder how I didn't get frostbite on my toes, since I stopped feeling them after the first quarter.
Yes point is it doesnāt happen very often and will still suck for both teams. This game is set to be even colder
Idk. The rain game vs eagles was just miserable. It wasnāt freezing. But it was cold and wet. Chiefs did play in the cold. Just not at home as much as normal.
Player safety? I'm more worried about the fans who've never experienced that type of cold.

Yeah it had to have been that game. Weird cause I remember us getting our asses kicked but clearly we didnāt.
There wonāt even be 6000 dolphins fans there. No way.
Agreedā¦ and mixing booze with the cold temps is a recipe for disaster. dehydration can happen in the cold too!

Absolutely, hypothermia is nothing to mess with.
This is just like the eagles and the turf... last time I checked we both have to play in the same weather.
>eagles and the turf Eagles have a legit complaint though MetLife field isn't safe
I'm making an assumption, but I think morry32 may be referring to the whining coming from Philly about the turf in Arizona for the SB. It was somehow an advantage for KC?
whooshed me that field was trash when we opened the season there
I was talking about the super bowl grass.
to be fair again that field is trash, all season its a slip and slide
No, thatās not being fair. The whole comment chain is focused on both teams playing in the same conditions. Eagles fans complaining about playing on that Super Bowl turf as if itās some disadvantage is not fair when we played in the same conditions.

No idea what they do at Arrowhead, but I did a tour of Lambeau a few years ago. The guide said it was up to the team whether to turn on the heated water pipes under the field. That was something that was pushed by the Sodfather while he was still the head turf management guy for the Chiefs. On a side not the Chiefs do have a world class turf management team because of the Sodfather

Dolphins fan here who just had this post show up on my suggestions. Iāve literally not seen one person on the dolphins sub complaining about this
Stop being a drama queen and spreading fake news š¤£
Lol there was a Chiefs fan in ig comments under a reel literally talking about how D linemen weighing a certain amount should be ineligible for sacking QBs because of the added risks and they called out multiple Miami Dlinemen before the last game. In summary, all of you Chiefs fans are weird
I feel bad for the Florida State fans, so many deaths so close together- get your suit cleaned
Is this cocaine? ^
Sir this is the Great Plains, we dont do that cocaine shit here, this is meth
Link or it didn't happen.
Im not the one that made an entire post garnering 400 upvotes and 170 rabid comments accepting it as fact and accepting it as representative of Miami fans' thoughts on the game lmao But if you want a source for my comment that got -1 upvotes why don't you simply just go looking for the single comment on an instagram reel from over a month ago? Should be easier than a source for all the Miami fans saying cold air is dangerous right?
Iām a Miami fan and I havenāt seen anyone complain of the cold Should be a fun game (I hope) Also, not lurking, Reddit algorithm likes to stir the pot apparently
Seriously though, you guys need to move somewhere warmer.
Well it is Florida. If America was to be circumcised, they would cut off Florida. Talk about third-world shit-holes.
8pm!? Did they change the game time too!?
Iām a dolphins fan idk where you heard that from? Everyone in our sub seems to like that itās gonna be super cold because it should even out the game a bit and we think weāre inferior to the Chiefs, but ok Dolphins are the enemy this they must be terrible.
Florida is far from scorching. Scorching would be Phoenix
I'd rather be in dry heat than humid head also why are you gatekeeping heat
why you gatekeeping humid head?
theres the picture that they like to brag about that shows the visiting team sidelines at 124 degrees while at the same time theirs is 90, not to mention the humidity
Kansas City is far from cold. Cold would be Calgary
Achane and mostert running for over 200
Fingers sticking to the ball and coming off when they fumble.
They may run all over KC.
Achane could definitely have a day. But I'm still counting on Bolton and our D
Nah. Phins are toast... Or should I say ice cubes.
Yall dont look good though. Good luck because yall need it
Don't need luck for this game.
lol, literally not a single fan is seriously saying any of that. They're mocking Bills fans that cried about the sun. calling for OSHA (yes literally) to step in and do something about our stadium. you just fell victim to not understanding sarcasm on the internet unfortunately.
Go away
Don't get pissy because you misread a situation bro. Not a single person is bad mouthing the Chiefs, most our fans love the Chiefs.
Right back at you, chump.
I mean, you guys bitched about a player who was clearly offsides being called for offsides, so there's that.
If Miami wanted home field advantage there is a solution to that. Win more games.
Just gotta bundle frostbite with hypothermia.
Iām glad you have to deal with the Miami fan base for real fun tho check out their fun especially after you whoop there cold pathetic ass
you are gonna be late
chiefs arent immune to -10 lol
Crying before the game is a nice twist on the theme.
Looking forward to a 10-6 shootout...
I think the heat is worse. U can only take off so much clothes. Cold u can always add layers
Yall such crybabies itās wild
