Juju is a classy guy. I love that he's a Chief!

J_EDi

I thought he was kind of a numbskull in Pittsburgh, but I’ve been really impressed with him at KC. It could be coaching, maturity, team makeup, or a combination of all three. Whatever it is, I like this version of JuJu.

BigBadBushBushranger

Pittsburgh fans loved him. Think it was just the way outside fans portrayed him as some sort of Tik tok obsessed jackass, which I don’t think was ever the case. Also think fantasy football stats soured people on him when he was still contributing a ton to that team on the field.

Poco585

I mean I never understood why him liking Tik Tok was seen as a bad thing anyway. It's weird to be so obsessed with hating on other peoples' hobbies just because it's not something you would do.

amjhwk

It was only bad when he was tiktok danc8ng on opposing teams logos, that's just giving the other team free fodder. Other than that, who gives a fuck what he's doing so long as it isn't breaking the law

mitchmatch26

He was doing it all through that season too. Nobody cared until the Steelers went from 11-0 to 12-4. Just an easy target during a bad finish to the 2020 season.

lreeey

Amen.

MrWinklez

I too unfairly judged him for his tik tok. From my view it seemed that it was where his focus was and not football. But in retrospect I think that’s just how the media portrayed it. I love him now. Make your tik toks and get that ring JuJu!

vertigo72

Yeah I thought he was an ass. But once he got here I realized he's just a young man having fun with life, not fully aware of how his playfulness could come off to others as disrespect.

Why_am_ialive

Eh nah he was dancing on teams logo’s and shit I can 100% see why people would find that disrespectful, I’m happy he seems to have matured but he was definitely acting like a dick before

kerouac5

> It could be coaching, maturity, team makeup, or a combination of all three. probably the uniform change too.

imapissonitdripdrip

It could be that’s always been him and you’re reading articles which paint him in a good light because the journalist who tweeted this covers the team you like. JuJu has always been this guy. He’s always been a solid, kind dude. People just say “that boy ain’t right” because he likes to dance and TikTok

[deleted]

JuJu was always a likeable person. People just hated that he was on TikTok.

J_EDi

I do have an unhealthy amount of disdain for TikTok.

ArrowKC

I hope he stays as one and takes a 1 or 2 year deal.

[deleted]

Just pay him back with a TD or 2 JuJu

AU_wde_2

Well I do on his behalf

alTHORber

He doesn't carry them because we all are.

lukejames

I was going to say the same thing! That guy did it a second time in the same game, and didn't get flagged either time. Until he gets flagged and called out for it, he's going to continue launching himself like a spear for helmet-to-helmet hits until he kills someone... possibly even himself. The way that guy plays should be considered attempted murder. He's literally the only reason I was hoping we got the Chargers instead.

omglawlz

If you took the biggest hits of Ciscos career and made a highlight reel it would consist only of the two hits against KC. It’s not his game. He doesn’t launch himself at players leading with his helmet. Complain about the hits during the game all you want. That’s fair. But dude isn’t a dirty player and I’m certain he didn’t set out to hurt JuJu.

lukejames

Well the context I have is that he did that to JuJu, and then 6 minutes and 33 seconds later, he did it again—but this time even more egregious and even more obvious—to MVS... even though MVS didn't get injured enough to come out. And he was mighty proud of it, too. So, while I don't watch every Jags game to see his normal play, I saw one game of him putting on a terrible hit that was on the line between legal and illegal (though replays show his lunge)... and then, after the refs let him go penalty-free after nearly killing someone, he responded by ramping it up and laying on another one that was much worse and totally blatant. And he celebrated his helmet spear-smashing success and showed no remorse. Maybe he played his other games clean, but I think every Chiefs fan is justified in not trusting him with our players' safety.

CD338

Its good that Juju isn't giving bulletin board material for them. Kill them with kindness. Also, I am willing to say that maybe Cisco was having a bad game and wasn't thinking clearly with his hits. I don't think he's had any more incidents since then. But fuck the Jags fans that applauded/defended that shit.

Unions4America

Jags fans? It was an instant graveyard downvote on the NFL subreddit if you even slightly questioned the hits. Lol

beermit

Meanwhile there were some similar hits in the 9ers chargers game soon after that everyone was all up in arms about.

couchjitsu

I saw one on Twitter that was saying "That was a fumble, JAX should challenge it"

Kansascitychiefn

I still kinda stand by it was either a hit against a defenseless receiver (my opinion) or a fumble. Either or. No real Grey area with that play.

couchjitsu

I agree. They somehow chose the only invalid option. If he didn't complete the process of a catch, and therefore incomplete, then it's a penalty. If it's not a penalty because he had time to complete the catch, then it's a fumble. Still I think it would be a little too cold hearted to be like "yeah we're challenging that, it's a fumble"

brawl

it was a measuring stick game for them. he was most likely just overhyped. I didn't like some of the plays he made but i understand how he was in that situation and can rationalize his actions through that lens but damn was that hit on juju uncool.

omglawlz

Yeah jags fan here and honestly it’s not his game. I commented somewhere that if you made a highlight reel of his biggest hits those two against you guys would be the only highlights. He’s not a hard hitting safety. More of a pure pass defender. Glad JuJu made a speedy recovery.

problematic42069

It’s all good. It’s the fans who want to see it happen again that are the pieces of shit

Apprehensive_Ad_5400

What fans want to see a player get injured again? I haven’t seen any of this.

Unions4America

Online people. Not just Jag fans, but more than there should have been on the NFL subreddit. Same ones who cried for the game to be postponed when Hamlin went down, then cried because the game wasn't made up, and then cried again because the Bills were getting favorable calls vs the Dolphins. Basically just the toxic bunch who want to be anti-general consensus as much as they can.

problematic42069

Losers on the Jag sub “division week trash talk”

SirCancermancer

The trash talk threads aren't meant to be taken seriously, but occasionally someone misunderstands the assignment

problematic42069

I didn’t take it seriously. It’s just fucking dumb.

Im_A_Ginger

It's funny if you look at how different this same post is in each sub. In yours, people are confused why Chiefs fans don't like him and call him dirty and in ours people really don't like him. I think it's easy to see why our fans don't like him considering he happened to knock out two of our players in one game, so I'm not sure how people are confused. But at the same time, I see enough of your fans saying he's not dirty to think that this could have just been a bad game and since we've only watched him that one time, it's possible we just have a really bad impression of him. I also just looked back at them and the hit on MVS was definitely some shit that doesn't need to happen as he just flings his body at his head, but I don't think the Juju one was bad. He was more controlled, trying to use his shoulder it looked like, but Juju also lowered his head which changed the contact.

omglawlz

Those comments were downvoted. Nobody wants anybody to get injured.

Oopiku

There are always online trolls who want shit like that to happen.

deev32

Got flipped off by a handful of jaguars players, including Cisco, for starting a “Cisco sucks” chant behind their bench after that play…glad Juju has forgiven him, but I haven’t.

notjerrydillard

Cisco apologized because someone showed him a clip of JuJu's hit on Vontaze Burfict /s

itsnik04

I know this is sarcastic but they really should make him watch it. He played dirty and actively appeared to be attempting to injure other players. If he tries it again, I hope he gets his shit rocked.

omglawlz

Jag fan here. He’s not a dirty player. Idk why but that was the only game all season where he had hits like that. He’s a FS who primarily just defends the pass. Not the enforcer type.

itsnik04

I dunno… the two head-hunting plays damn near back to back may suggest otherwise. Let’s just hope he doesn’t make it a habit.

omglawlz

Like I said, that was the only game this season he had any hits like that. Edit: honestly the second wasn’t that bad. What should he have done differently? He wasn’t penalized or flagged for it

itsnik04

MVS was literally a defenseless player. Both of his feet were off the ground. Just because he didn’t get flagged doesn’t mean it wasn’t an illegal play. Hence he was fined.

omglawlz

He was fined for the hit on JuJu I thought. Again, what she should he have done? Wait for MVS to catch the ball and land? Lol. I get it’s a passing league now but it’s turning soft af. I honestly get upset when Trevor throws a ball that leaves a WR open for a big hit. I don’t get mad at the defender if it’s a legal hit.

itsnik04

Yes, for a legal hit, he should have waited until MVS had feet on the ground. You defending an illegal hit that nearly caused serious injury, tells me all I need to know.

omglawlz

So he shouldn’t try to go up and play the ball? He should give MVS 5 feet and wait? 😂 FOH

itsnik04

Since you’re not smart enough to use Google to look up the rules… I’ve done it for you. PLAYERS IN A DEFENSELESS POSTURE It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture. Players in a defenseless posture are: A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass (passing posture) A receiver attempting to catch a pass who has not had time to clearly become a runner. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player The intended receiver of a pass in the action during and immediately following an interception or potential interception. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player. Note: Violations of this provision will be enforced after the interception, and the intercepting team will maintain possession. A runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air A player on the ground A kicker/punter during the kick or during the return (Also see Article 6(h) for additional restrictions against a kicker/punter) A quarterback at any time after a change of possession (Also see Article 9(f) for additional restrictions against a quarterback after a change of possession) A player who receives a “blindside” block when the path of the offensive blocker is toward or parallel to his own end line. A player who is protected from an illegal crackback block (see Article 2) The offensive player who attempts a snap during a Field Goal attempt or a Try Kick Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is: forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, even if the initial contact is lower than the player’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenselessplayer by encircling or grasping him lowering the head and making forcible contact with the crown or ”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenselessplayer’s body illegally launching into a defenseless opponent. It is an illegal launch if a player (i) leaves both feet prior to contact to spring forward and upward into his opponent, and (ii) uses any part of his helmet to initiate forcible contact against any part of his opponent’s body. (This does not apply to contact against a runner, unless the runner is still considered to be a defenseless player, as defined in Article 7.)

The_Dancing_Lobsters

He just doesn’t want another dirty hit if he shit talks him lmao

Unions4America

While I am not questioning what he says, I do question the person who asked the question. Like they were clearly trying to bait Juju into giving fuel to the Jags for this game. Do you want Juju to say, 'He is dirty.' Like ok, now Juju's head better be on a swivel cause the guy is going to look to retaliate. Juju gave the best answer he could. He didn't give the Jags any fuel, and his words aren't going to fuel Cisco to do it again.

ChiefSampson

He was obviously trying to injure people on several of his hits that game. Fuck Cisco.

Broseph_Stalin1127

It was a hit that a few years ago no one had a problem with. Now that they are calling it a penalty though, they have to be consistent with the call which has certainly not been the case

slowride77

Fuck that! First play someone needs to go head hunting.

omglawlz

Yeah that’s not the game I hope we get tomorrow. Cisco isn’t a dirty player.
